• Visual Studio ASP.Net MVC undo set as start page action

  I have an web application that I'm working on, it was working fine until my curiosity got the better of me and I right-clicked on a view and chose Set As Start Page option. Now, whenever I run my application it takes me to the Resource Not Found error page. I have the default register route set in my Global config route which was working fine before. I notice that the URL now reads: http://localhost:1234/Views/User/Login.aspx instead of http://localhost:1234/ like it was before. I'm not sure how to undo this action or what was changed, I've looked in my web.config file but I'm not sure what to look for exactly, Help is appreciated.

• Cannot launch 16-bit application anymore

  I'm trying to debug and resolve some issues with a Win32 macro application written C++ however I'm having the strangest issue. I have to launch a 16-bit program and then simulate entering data into and have been using ShellExecute for over two years now. I haven't touched this actual code at all, but now it doesn't work. I'm doing ShellExecute(NULL, "open", exe_path.c_str(), NULL, "", SW_SHOWDEFAULT);. This has worked flawlessly for years but all of sudden, it stopped working. It gives me an ACCESS_DENIED error code. I've Googled and apparently this is a pretty common issue with launching 16-bit apps. The workstation XP SP2 environment hasn't changed at all, and it was actually working until I rebuilt a little while ago (I've rebuilt it before many times). The code is inside a window procedure function and when I take it out and launch the program in the WinMain function it works, but the code has to be in the window procedure... I've tried numerous alternatives but they all give the same issue. The biggest issue with this is it was working then all of a sudden decided it wasn't going to with no change to both code and environment! In fact, it was about half way through testing changes that it thought it'd stop working. Please help as I cannot do anything without the program launching. It's the first step in the code that I'm debugging!

• after .htaccess url rewrite, cannot perform logoff in some of the url rewrited page

  Recently, I was doing .htaccess url rewrite, make all my php url into html, in some page, the logout button wont work properly. for example, in page ‘quotedetails/Q9999.html’ (rewrited from ‘quotedetails.php?quoteID=Q9999'), when I click logout button in this page, it wont do the trick, but when i use the old php url of this page, it works again, other rewrited pages like index.html (index.php), search.html(search.php), all works perfectly. I use firebug to debug, after I click the logout button, it stays in the same page without redirect me to the index.html, but I saw the the ‘logoff’ params has been passed through, but just dont let me logout and redirect to index page. I’ve changed all the relavent file path to absolute path, still no luck…..help please. I’ve also noticed from firebug, that page cannot get the redirect ‘location’ as I tried in other pages, their response headers come with ‘location: index.html’, but in that no-workin-page, there is no such line called ‘location: index.html’ in its response headers.   Hello fellow programmers. Im a pretty experienced programmer in PHP and mainly web languages but today i have decided i want to start to learn a new language! Im only 21 and I feel as I will never make it in the programming industry without a great set of languages under my belt, So i decided to have a look at C#. The reason I have chosen C# is because some C programmers have told me that C# is the best language to learn for desktop applications.   Hi, is it possible to create and register routes after Application.Start() is called? let's say have a controller, PersonController. With default routing, URLs could look something like www.site.com/Person/Edit/4, with 'Person' matching the controller. now imagine I have several users, some may prefer we use the term 'Friends'. I would like to use the same controller, and have /Friends/Edit/4 map to the same controller/action/id. Maybe someone else prefers /Comrades/Edit/4. with the naming preferences stored in a database, is there a way that I can dynamically create these routes at some point mid-application, after the user has logged in? thanks!

  I am working on a class to create a fairly complex custom element. I want to be able to define element attributes (mainly CSS) as I am creating the elements. So naturally, I am assuming that buttonDiv is undefined.. I put alert(ex + " " + __el); in __apply_settings() to verify what I was working with. Surprisingly enough, the element is a div.   I try to pragrammatically run applications such as notepad.exe and Calc.exe with the following codes. I can see the application is activated in Process Exprorer but the application UI does not appear on the screen. I got this info inside the process p - "Process must exit before requested information can be determined" and the exitcode are 1200, 5084, etc. What is wrong? Thanks! • Spring can't find a lib and webapp doesn't start up in tomcat 6

  I've this problem using STS: I'm building a simple Spring app, just to try out features like MVC and persistence. Now I've created something very simple, out of a bunch of tutorials for Spring 3, that I'm using. The application fails with this, during server startup: Code: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'org.springframework.web.servlet.mvc.annotation.DefaultAnnotationHandlerMapping#0': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.CannotLoadBeanClassException: Cannot find class [org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean] for bean with name 'mySessionFactory' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/spring/appServlet/servlet-context.xml]; nested exception is java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.annotation.AnnotationSessionFactoryBean but I've org.springframework.orm in web-inf/classes folder (I even tried putting it in web-inf/lib). As I copied these libs there, the came out in Web App Libraries folder. Building this project in STS works fine as this dependency is set up in build path throught project properties, but how do I transfer the libs to the web app? (I'm using Tomcat 6 as it is the server I'm going to use sometime in the future for production). Is this a config problem of my XML? Or am I just missing the right way to put this lib? (I encountered the same problem before, but adding the needed lib in classes worked it out). • switching C compiler causes: Error Initializer cannot be specified for a flexible array member

  I am trying to convert our code from one IDE to be used in a different one. The current one uses gcc which allows for this structure to be initialized from a variable array. The new tool does not use gcc gives me an error "Initializer cannot be specified for a flexible array member". So can someone help me understand how to set this up? Should I set up a blank array of variable size and then somewhere assign the #define array as seen below? Here would be an example of the code…(this is current implementation current IDE) In one header file that is Build switchable so we can build this on different hardware platforms we have the following #define #define GPIOS \ /* BANK, PIN, SPD, MODE,… */ GPIOINIT( A, 0, 2, AIN, …) \ GPIOINIT( A, 1, 2, AIN, …) \ GPIOINTINIT(A, 2, 2, AIN, …) \ . . .   I need to write a process controller module on Linux that handles tasks, which are each made up of multiple executables. The input to the controller is an XML file that contains the path to each executable and list of command line parameters to be passed to each. I need to implement the following functionality: Start each executable as an independent Be able to kill any of the created processes independent of the others In order to do (2), I think I need to capture the pid when I create a process, to issue a system kill command. I tried to get access to pid in Java but saw no easy way to do it. All my other logic (putting info about the tasks in DB, etc) is done in Java so I'd like to stick with that, but if there are solutions you can suggest in C, C++, or Python I'd appreciate those, too.

• JDBC ResultSet.getString Before/After Start/End of ResultSet Exception

  I have done a lot of searching about this topic through Google but I have yet to find someone using getString() in the way that I am using it so I have not been able to fix this issue in the normal ways that are suggested. What I am trying to do is to obtain all of the information from the database and then use it to populate a table model within the program. I do so by obtaining the data with getString and place it into a String[] object: try { while (rSet.next()) { String row[] = {rSet.getString("DonorName"),rSet.getString("DonorCharity"),((String)rSet.getString("DonationAmount"))}; model.addRow(row); } } However I am always getting a dialog error message stating those error messages in the title: Exception: Before start of result set Exception: After end of result set The data is still added and everything works correctly but it is just annoying to have to dismiss those message windows.   Hi, I have written a C# WebService. The problem is that after I publish it to IIS it won't automatically start unless any of its methods is called. This is very frustrating because this WebService has to continuously do some background work immediately after it starts (its constructor executes). If IIS is restarted, the WebService will just sit idly until one of its methods is called. Is there a way to overcome this and force the WebService to execute its constructor immediately after it is published or IIS restarted?

• Cannot connect Nexus One Phone to Android adb

  I am running Android SDK 2.2 and am trying to get the adb to connect to the Google Nexus One phone. Its a new phone, shipped straight from Google - haven't installed any apps on it yet. (I have Windows XP) Here is what I have done so far: Followed the instructions on setting up the device for development as given on the Android Developer's site: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/device.html added android:debuggable="true" to my application manifest USB debuggable is checked on the phone downloaded the Device Drivers For Windows Revision 3 (this supports Nexus One phones) Went through the Hardware Installation wizard to install the device - the device shows up as "Android Composite ADB Interface". When I run adb devices on the shell, the device appears for a moment, then disappears. On the Eclipse console, I get the following message: [2010-11-13 11:54:42 - DeviceMonitor]Failed to start monitoring I have rebooted the pc several times, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers several times, but I get the same error each time. As I was researching this problem, someone had recommended rebooting the phone. I am a bit confused by that - is that a soft or hard reboot? Do I just power the phone off/on and is there something more complex involved? Do I have to hard reboot it to reset to factory version - even though its brand new? Has anyone run into a similar problem? Any help on this would be great. I can't test my application on the device if the adb cannot view the device. Thanks so much in advance.

• Cannot get admob working: configChanges error

  I know there are some topics about it, but the reason I start this one is I appear not to be able to solve it with solutions given. I want to add admob to my project. I downloaded GoogleAdMobAdsSdk-6.2.1 and added it to my project. When I startup it says You must have AdActivity declared in AndroidManifest with configChanges. So solution found, set it to: android:configChanges="keyboard|keyboardHidden|orientation|screenLayout|uiMode|screenSize|smallestScreenSize" and <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="15" /> Clean it, try again. But now I get an error saying following although my targetSdkVersion is set to be min 12, I really don't know why I am still getting this error: String types not allowed (at 'configChanges' with value 'keyboard|keyboardHidden|orientation| screenLayout|uiMode|screenSize|smallestScreenSize') Any ideas on this? There might be another setting wrong which I looked over?

• keypress event not being triggered only at start and end of text field in Firefox (JQuery)

  I'm listening for keypress events on an input field with delegation. For some reason, Firefox doesn't trigger the delegated event for cursor UP when at the start of the field, or cursor DOWN when at the end. LEFT and RIGHT work as expected all the time. Directly binding an event listener to the field works fine, so it has to be something to do with delegation. • Cannot use Java 7 instalation if Java 8 is installed

  I normally still use Java 7 for all my coding projects (it's a company "politics" issue), but I installed Java 8 for one third-party project I am contributing to. Now, it seems I cannot have Java 8 installed in Windows 7 x64, and still use Java 7 by default: C:\>"%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java.exe" -version java version "1.7.0_55" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_55-b13) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 24.55-b03, mixed mode) C:\>java.exe -version java version "1.8.0_05" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_05-b13) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.5-b02, mixed mode) As you can see, JAVA_HOME is completely ignored. I also have Java in the path, using "%JAVA_HOME%\bin", which resolve correctly to Java 7 when I check the path in a DOS box, but it still makes no difference. I checked in the "Java Control Panel" (not sure if this affects the default command-line Java version). Under the "Java" tab, the "View..." button, you get to see "registered" Java versions. I can add all the versions under the "User" tab, but under "System" there is only Java 8, and no way to change it. Am I missing something, or did Oracle just make it impossible to use Java 7, unless I de-install Java 8? I don't want to have to specify the "source" and "target" everywhere, and I don't even know if it is possible for me to specify it everywhere, where Java is used. EDIT: What I did is I de-installed all Java. Then installed the latest Java7 (both 86 and x64), and then the latest Java8 (both 86 and x64). After I did that, I noticed that the x64 JDK was gone. It seems Java8 killed it. So I re-installed the JDK 7 x64, after the JDK 8 x64. Still, JDK7 x64 did not seem to "replace" the "java.exe" which is copied into the "Windows" directory itself (I assume THAT is the problem).

  Sorry about the strange title. I really have no idea how to express it any better... I get an error on the following snippet. I use the class Dummy everywhere. Doesn't the compiler understand the constraint I've added on DummyImplBase? Is this a compiler bug as it works if I use Dummy directly instead of setting it as a constraint?
