• Hooking up a mac to an HDTV

  I've got a mac with a firewire port but no HDMI port. I want to connect it to my HDTV. I've done this many times with a PC via HDMI and Svideo, but I'm not sure how to connect my new MacBook Pro to my HDTV. Any ideas?

  With putty on windows I added some tunnel for terminal service through ssh 6664 192.168.20.44:3389 6665 192.168.20.45:3389 6666 192.168.20.46:3389 So when I connect with client to 127.0.0.1:6664 it work... Now I want to use localtest.me to select the machine directly without port number. I want when I type foo.localtest.me in TS client to connect automaticaly on the 127.0.0.1:3389 is it possible or do I need a proxy to translate port regarding domain name.

• Why won't my Western Digital My Book Home 500GB drive mount on my Macbook Pro via Firewire?

  I can connect the drive via USB and it mounts correctly. However, when I connect via FireWire, the drive powers down. The drive realizes that it is plugged in. When I plug in via FireWire, the lights on the front of the drive flash the same as when it it mounting via USB, but then the drive powers down. I've upgraded the firmware on the drive, but it still won't mount via FireWire.

  Hi I have a MySQL server that I need access through a VPN. I use MySQLdb package to access MySQL server in Python. When I can access the server without VPN, it works fine, but when I'm at certain locations, I need to connect through VPN. My computer is connected to the VPN and I can access the database through PHPMyAdmin, but MySQLdb gives me an error message: OperationalError: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MY_IP' (10061)") Any ideas on why it's not working?   Trying to setup a few CentOS nodes to connect to a Dell MD3600i array, i'm running into the issue that the MD3600i shows 4 different portals (with different IP addresses) and when i launch the initiator on host side well, it connects to every IP address it has seen during the discovery phase; resulting in duplicates. How can I 'force' the initiator to discard every other IP and let me choose only one IP portal to connect to ? Must be damn stupid but I can't figure out how. Thx

• juniper j2300 console connection?

  I've been given a Juniper Networks J2300 router, but I've never used a juniper device before and no idea where to begin on how to connect to the console of the device. I have a serial to RJ45 cable but not sure on how to connect to the device. Do I use specific software or just use something like minicom (linux hyperterminal alternative)?   Heres the scenario, im on a network A, and i use a vpn client to connect network B to access the webservice which can be accessed in network B.Even though im connect to network B , im unable to access the webservice link.Do i need to configure any settings. I set in PHP : mbstring.language=UTF-8 mbstring.internal_encoding=UTF-8 mbstring.http_input=UTF-8 mbstring.http_output=UTF-8 mbstring.detect_order=auto But each time there is a $ in the password (i have one for the root of mysql + other script) the password won't work. For example, I just removed the $ in the password for a script, and it worked.   I have a Samba share on a LAN with 2008 PDC/DNS. Smb authenticates with AD and I have several Win7 Machines that can connect fine. I recently added a couple of new computers to the LAN which were imaged the same way (same software, etc.; different hardware so different drivers) as the other machines and they have the same policies set. I can not get the new machines to connect to the samba share no matter what. I am always met with either Unspecified Error 0x80004005 or Network Path not found. I've turned off the firewall; set LANMAN auth to respond to NTLM only/send LM & NTLM responses/use NTLM session security if negotiated in Local Sec Policy SEcurity Options; tried both ip and hostname to connect. Wouldn't it return a facebook session to me which my server will mantain. Does that remove the whole point of being stateless? • Samsung "Kies via Wifi" doesn't work, stuck on "Loading..."

  When I connect my Galaxy S2 to my laptop using "Kies via Wifi" it doesn't work. On my phone it tells me it is connected, and on the laptop I can see the device "GT-I9100" under connected devices, but I see no files or anything else. When I move the mouse icon over the "GT-I9100", it writes "Loading...". I've waited long enough but nothing happens. When I connect the phone using USB cable, it works perfectly fine.
