  I pasted syslog and perhaps anyone can see trouble that might need attention. It is running too slow for what I would suspect. • Xorg constant high cpu usage

  The CPU temperature under Ubuntu 12.10 is significantly higher than under Windows 7 doing similar tasks. For example, the CPU temperature under Windows when watching flash videos is around 50-60 degrees, under Ubuntu it is between 65-75. In idle mode in Ubuntu it is usually around 50. I use an i3 core and an integrated graphics. Is there a way to lower the temperature? And I don't mean via Jupiter as this doesn't work for watching videos..

  I have a Thinkpad X230. After a boot it hangs with checking battery state [OK]. A second boot is most times successful. What I have seen in other posts doesn't fit to my problem, because My graphics card is Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics controller (not nvidia) It happens not always I have a fresh installed 12.10 with the latest updates (no upgrade) Does anyone experience the same issues or has a solution?

  My mom's Laptop is running really slow with 12.04 and 13.10 right after installation. ubuntu claims it should run nice and smoothly for the hardware thats on it. Lenovo ThinkPad R61e: CPU - Pentium Dual Core t2370 1.73ghz x 2 Ram - 1GB DDR2 667mhz GPU - intel 965gm x86/mmx/sse2 HDD - 80gb sata i tried hardware tests and they fail right that the very beginning of the testing. it does the same for bootable hardware tests (on a cd or usb) Is there any bloatware that can be removed that common windows users would never use?

So in the fourth and fifth year, if LTS Server gets Kernel updates*, are these also provided for LTS Desktop? What about other core-system stuff? It is a HP pavilion dv6-6117dx. 2.4GHz/1.5GHz VISION A8 Technology from AMD with AMD Quad-Core A8-3500M Accelerated Processor AMD Radeon HD 6620G Discrete-Class Graphics I am pretty sure i picked a unsupported graphics card or something.
