• What is the syntax for Dsynchronize "exclude filter" for files 's full path to exclude bin\* and obj\* of a C# solution?

  Dsynchronize is a great free tool to sync two folders. I'm using it to sync two solutions checked out from two different TFS Team Collection. I want to exclude the following: All files in bin folder All files in obj folder I tried bin\*; obj\* but it doesn't work. How can I do that? ps. Though, trying *.g.* and *cache* help to exclude the files whose names match with the filter. It seems the filter is applied to the file name only NOT the full path of the file

• PCI scan failure for SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname?

  A client had a PCI scan completed by SecurityMetrics, and it now says they failed due to the SSL certificate for the SMTP port 25 (and POP3s/IMAPS) not matching the domain scanned. Specifically: Description: SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname Synoposis: The SSL certificate for this service is for a different host. Impact: The commonName (CN) of the SSL certificate presented on this service is for a different machine. The mail server uses sendmail (patched) and provides email service for a number of domains. The server itself has a valid SSL certificate, but it does not match each domain (as we add/remove domains all the time as clients move around). Seems SecurityMerics is the only ASV that marks this as failing PCI. Trustwave, McAfee, etc... do not see this as failing PCI. Is this issue truly a PCI failure? Or is it just SecuritMetrics being wrong?

• Random Windows application crashes on Windows Server Hyper-V Core 2012

  We're having some issues with our Hyper-V Core 2012 R2 installation on a HP DL360G8. We have an identical server with Hyper-V Core 2012 (not R2) that does not have these issues. When logging off from the physical server/via remote desktop, we sometimes get this error: Configure-SMRemoting.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. We've also once or twice seen a "memory could not be read" error mentioning LoginUI.exe (another Windows app in System32) but have been unable to get an exact description. It's rather worrying to get such errors on a fresh install of Hyper-V 2012 R2. Is this even anything to worry about? Things we've done: Memtest86+, no memory errors Checksummed the file that is crashing with the one in the verified correct ISO, files match Server firmware upgrade to latest firmware of all present hardware, no visible changes Remade the RAID5 array , no change Reinstalled a few times, no change Reinstall without applying Windows updates after, no change

  I cant get wake on lan to work for my built in network adapter. Its a ASUS M5A97 motherboard, and the network adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE. I have Shutdown WakeOnLan - Enabled Wake on Magic Packet - Enabled Wake on Pattern Match - Enabled WOL & Shutdown Link Speed - 10 Mbps First I have set up a magic packet client to listen, and the packet is getting through. I have also checked these in Power Management for the network adapter. Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power Allow this device to wake the computer Allow a magic packet to wake the computer.

• 401 - Unauthorized On Server 2008 R2 IIS 7.5

  I have a web application deployed to Server 2008 IIS 7.5 box. From remote it gives this error: 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials. (remote = desktops on the same LAN) Have tried several remote clients using different browsers, all the same result. (IE, FF, and Chrome) Hitting the application from the desktop of the server itself works flawlessly. The application is using Anonymous Authentication. The application is written in .NET 4.0 Asp.Net using the MVC framework. Sysinternals procmon returns these 2 results for each request: FAST IO DISALLOWED and PATH NOT FOUND. I have 2 other MVC apps running fine on the same server. I have checked the security on the folders and they all match. App runs fine on a Server 2008 IIS 7.0 box. Nothing shows up in the Event log on the server related to this. Pulling my hair out here, any troubleshooting tips?

• Ubuntu 8.04 server is not retaining a static IP address

  I recently setup a linux box running Ubuntu 8.04 (to match another server with 8.04). I need to insure that this box has a static IP address and I changed /etc/network/interfaces to set up the static IP address and when I run sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart it works fine for a while, but always reverts back to 10.0.1.24 after being idle for a while. I also tried stopping/removing the dhcp client, but that didn't help. sudo /etc/init.d/dhcp stop sudo apt-get remove dhcp3-client Here is my /etc/init.d/networking: # The loopback network interface auto lo iface lo inet loopback # The primary network interface auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 10.0.1.4 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 10.0.1.255 gateway 10.0.1.1 Any thoughts? • Own DataFormWebPart: Unable to display this Web Part.

  Hi, What I want is to display a paginable list from my custom data source. All came from the fact that I needed some logical relationships between seach scopes and some dates. I considered ContentQueryWebpart, but CAML is too complicated as I have plenty of different conditions, CoreResults webpart is too limited as it uses KeyWordQuery so I inherited from DataFormWebPart to display my own custom search results from my own custom xml source. Thats the best way i am aware of... I knew I needed some configuration to write in my pageLayout like MyWebParts:MyCustomWebPart etc so I went to Designer, put DataFormWebPart on a page, linked it to list of pages, and set multiple item view and that gave me some configuration.. Firstly i checked if DataFormWebPart works when put on pageLayout and it sucessfully displayed my pages list in pages library. But that was not what I wanted, i needed to set my own XML data source... I then changed the configuration of WebPartPages:DataFormWebPart to match mine and detach from any listName or listId and I change the XSL tag to much simplier to display all results and now I am getting: Unable to display this Web Part. To troubleshoot the problem, open this Web page in a Microsoft SharePoint Foundation-compatible HTML editor such as Microsoft SharePoint Designer. • Redirect TS Gateway Authentication to RADIUS Server

  Hi All, I'm trying to set up an environment for my TS gateway server where the authentication for the initial login to the TS gateway server is handled by a RADIUS server (as determined by NPS), then the user uses standard Windows Auth to log in to their destination machine. I have the server successfully passing the auth to the RADIUS server, but only after it does a Windows auth first. The credentials will not match between the Windows Server and the RADIUS server, so the RADIUS auth always fails, and the TS Gateway server will not forward the request to the RADIUS server unless the Windows Auth succeeds. Does anyone know how to disable the Windows Auth requirement on a TS Gateway server? This is a pretty vanilla SBS 2008 box.

It appears that I am being redirected to https://www.mydomain.com/ which causes my browser to hang. I do not have SSL encryption turned on, nor do I have any special authorization rules. The web server in question is behind an F5 load balancer. Any ideas?

• Sudo yum seems to fail on CentOS, but works fine after sudo -i

  I am currently having some trouble with yum through sudo. For some reason, it does not seem to work: aron@graviton [/var/log]# sudo yum clean all There was a problem importing one of the Python modules required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was: /usr/lib64/python2.4/lib-dynload/datetime.so: failed to map segment from shared object: Cannot allocate memory Please install a package which provides this module, or verify that the module is installed correctly. It's possible that the above module doesn't match the current version of Python, which is: 2.4.3 (#1, Sep 3 2009, 15:37:37) [GCC 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-46)] If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to the yum faq at: http://wiki.linux.duke.edu/YumFaq The strange thing, however, is that it works fine when I gain root privileges through sudo -i first. • awstats parse of postfix mail log drops all records

  I'm trying to get awstats to parse the postfix mail log, but it drops allmost all entries with messages like: Corrupted record (date 20091204042837 lower than 20091211065829-20000): 2009-12-04 04:28:37 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17480 Few more are dropped with an invalid LogFormat: Corrupted record line 24 (record format does not match LogFormat parameter): 2009-11-16 04: 28:22 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 14755 My conf LogFormat="%time2 %email %email_r %host %host_r %method %url %code %bytesd" I believe matches the log format (and besides is the log format I've seen everywhere for awstats mail parsing). Besides, is the same entry format as all the other entries in the mail log. Whatever is left is dropped too: Dropped record (host localhost and 127.0.0.1 not qualified by SkipHosts): 2009-12-07 04:28:36 root root localhost 127.0.0.1 SMTP - 1 17152 I added SkipHosts="" to the .conf file but to no avail. I feel like awstats really has some personal quarrel with me today.

• VS2010 Assembly Load Error

  I am getting the following error when I try to build an ASP.NET 4 project in Visual Studio 2010: "Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Dev\project\trunk\bin\Elmah.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515)". I have verified that the dll does, in fact, exist, and is getting copied to the bin folder correctly. I have also tried removing and then re-adding the reference to the project. The build only fails when I switch the Solution Configuration to "Release". It does not fail when the Solution Configuration is set to "Debug". • Unexpected server restart - Windows 2003 SP2 fully patched

  I'm having problems with a server that has been restarting itself randomly for the past 3 months. The server is windows 2003 with SP2 Domain Controller and it is fully patched. I have seen the following errors in event log: Source: USER32 Category: None Type: Information Event ID: 1074 User: Domain\Administrator The process winlogon.exe has initiated the restart of computer (server name) on behalf of user domainname\Administrator for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x840000ff Shutdown Type: restart I have ran out of ideas as to what might be causing this issue. The system is clean and not infected. There are no scheduled tasks responsible for the restart either. I'm considering moving the backup (Backup Exec 12.5) to a different server but I'm almost certain that this is not the issue as the restart times vary and do not match the scheduled backup jobs. Any suggestions to help me resolve this issue would be appreciated, thanks.

• Heroku SSL "certificate is only valid for the following names: *.herokuapp.com, herokuapp.com"

  I'm trying to setup a Geotrust SSL certificate for my Heroku app using the SSL Endpoint addon and the instructions at https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/ssl-endpoint. I generated my public key from my private key using: openssl rsa -in server.orig.key -out server.key and added to the heroku certs: heroku certs:add server.crt server.key Everything seemed to be fine. heroku certs listed the corrected information only with Trusted = false for my certificate. If I go to https://tokyo-2121.herokussl.com the browser says: You attempted to reach tokyo-2121.herokussl.com, but instead you actually reached a server identifying itself as www.mydomain.com. As expected with the certificate apparently identifying the correct domain, but When I set up the CNAME to the given tokyo-2121.herokussl.com and visit my subdomain the browser says: www.mydomain.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is only valid for the following names: *.herokuapp.com , herokuapp.com If I run curl -kv https://www.mydomain.com I get: subjectAltName does not match www.mydomain.com

• IIS7 url rewrite rules

  In a hosted environment, I will be utilizing subdomains (and virtual directories) for various coding projects. I have a rewrite rule that changes 'subdomain.domain.com/url' to 'domain.com/subdomain/url'. This worked fine, except that the browser couldn't find resources with paths generated by ResolveURL("~/something"). The server was using the Application Path of "/subdomain/" so based on the rewrite rule, the browser's request for "/subdomain/something" was being looked for in "/subdomain/subdomain/something" were it wasn't to be found. either of these urls were valid: http://www.domain.com/subdomain/something http://subdomain.domain.com/something I resolved this by adding a another url rewrite rule to the subdomain: <rule name="RemoveSuperDir"> <match url="subdomain/(.*)" /> <action type="Rewrite" url="{R:1}" /> </rule> So for each subdomain that I might add, I will need to add such a rule. Is there a way to write a single rule at the domain level to resolve this issue?

• grep is inconsistently defaulting to grep -P?

  I have a script that does some housekeeping that works perfectly well when invoked from an interactive shell, but did nothing when invoked by cron. To troubleshoot this I started a shell with a 'blank' environment with the command: env -i /bin/bash --noprofile --norc Using this blank env I've dug into my script and found that the following grep will not match any files: grep -il "^ws_status\s*=\s*[\"']remove[\"']$" However, when run from an interactive shell the command will return the filenames of the matching files. As a note, the expression is matching lines like: WS_STATUS = "remove" Through trial-and-error I discovered that adding -P to the options [Perl regex] the command started working normally in the 'blank' shell. However, I have no idea why my login shell appears to be defaulted to grep -P. There is only one grep binary, /bin/grep There are no aliases defined for grep=pgrep or grep="grep -P" There is no env variable GREP_OPTIONS defined. What's the deal here? Note: OS is RHEL v5.10, Bash is v3.2.25, grep is v2.5.1

• Find which config file Apache uses to find virtual host

  I have a rather complicated Apache setup: some config files have to be manually written and some have to be automatically generated. So far, I've had no problems. But now, I've just tried to set a site at: newsubdomain.mydomain.com and Apache directs it to the data for: www.someotherdomain.com I've looking into all the many config files and can't find anything wrong. All is pointing where it should and no definitions, as far as I can tell, overlap. So what I'm wondering is: is there a way to see which config files or config instructions Apache is using to match a URL to a directory? Tanks.

  OS: CentOS 5.3, with openssh 4.3p2 Trying to set 'chroot' in ssh shell, but openssh version prior to 4.8 doesn't take below settings. yum update openssh open up to version 4.3 which is quite old. Doesn't CentOS support openssh 4.8 or up? If that's the case, how to set chroot with openssh 4.3? or is it better to just using FTP? • How to dictate a Non-English text on an English Windows 7?

  I'm using an English Windows 7 with speech recognition working fine if I'm dictating in English. I would like to dictate a letter in German. I don't need further features that let you use your computer without a mouse, I want to dictate my letter. If I just start speaking German the Windows speech recognition software just gives me English gibberish. When I set the Speech Recognition to "German" in the Speech Properties dialog, I get the error message: Speech Recognition could not start because the language configuration is not supported. The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the Speech Recognition control panel under Advanced Options. This error message doesn't help me, because it tells me that I either need to change my system language or the language I want to dictate. But that's not what I want. How can I dictate in German on my PC with the English version of Windows 7?

• Using .htaccess to server files from Amazon S3 CloudFront

  My ideal setup would be to take a current clients site, upload a .htaccess with a regex inside, that would match the URI, and if it finds a certain file extension, it would use the same path, but with an altered domain. ie. Normal path: http://www.domain.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://www.domain.com/assets/js/jquery.js .htaccess translated would turn the above into: http://mycdn.other.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://mycdn.other.com/assets/js/jquery.js I googled this for hours in a row, no luck. Again, this is for actually making use of Amazon's CloudFront. S3 is already mounted to the website for backups and storing files using s3fs, but this doesn't solve the issue since it's using S3 directly, not using the CloudFront.

  Hello, I have 4 Name Virtual Hosts on my apache configuration, each one using proxy_http to forward request to the correct server. They work fine. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName application_name.domain.tld ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://server_ip/ ProxyPassReverse / http://server_ip/ </VirtualHost> I then tried to add a default NameVirtualHost to take care of the requests for which the server name does not match one of the four others. Otherwise a request like some_weird_styff.domain.tld would be forwarded to one of the 4 VH. I then added this one: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAlias "*" DocumentRoot /var/www/ </VirtualHost> At the beginning it seemed to work fine, but at some point it appears that the requests that should be handed by one of the 4 regular hosts is "eaten" by the default one !!! If I a2dissite this default host, everything is back to normal... I do not really understand this. If you have any clue... thanks a lot, Luc
