  • On load rather than on click

    - by connor
    I have the following code: jQuery(function ($) { var OSX = { container: null, init: function () { $("input.apply, a.apply").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); $("#osx-modal-content").modal({ overlayId: 'osx-overlay', containerId: 'osx-container', closeHTML: null, minHeight: 80, opacity: 65, position: ['0',], overlayClose: true, onOpen: OSX.open, onClose: OSX.close }); }); }, open: function (d) { var self = this; self.container = d.container[0]; d.overlay.fadeIn('fast', function () { $("#osx-modal-content", self.container).show(); var title = $("#osx-modal-title", self.container); title.show(); d.container.slideDown('fast', function () { setTimeout(function () { var h = $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).height() + title.height() + 20; // padding d.container.animate( {height: h}, 200, function () { $("div.close", self.container).show(); $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).show(); } ); }, 300); }); }) }, close: function (d) { var self = this; // this = SimpleModal object d.container.animate( {top:"-" + (d.container.height() + 20)}, 500, function () { self.close(); // or $.modal.close(); } ); } }; OSX.init(); }); To load this script, a button with the class "apply" has to be clicked... Does anyone know a way of loading this script "onload" without a button being clicked? I have tried a lot of things, but I am a newbie when it comes to Javascript. Thanks!

  • C# Reflection StackTrack get value

    - by John
    I'm making pretty heavy use of reflection in my current project to greatly simplify communication between my controllers and the wcf services. What I want to do now is to obtain a value from the Session within an object that has no direct access to HttpSessionStateBase (IE: Not a controller). For example, a ViewModel. I could pass it in or pass a reference to it etc. but that is not optimal in my situation. Since everything comes from a Controller at some point in my scenario I can do the following to walk the sack to the controller where the call originated, pretty simple stuff: var trace = new System.Diagnostics.StackTrace(); foreach (var frame in trace.GetFrames()) { var type = frame.GetMethod().DeclaringType; var prop = type.GetProperty("Session"); if(prop != null) { // not sure about this part... var value = prop.GetValue(type, null); break; } } The trouble here is that I can't seem to work out how to get the "instance" of the controller or the Session property so that I can read from it.

  • Why are some classes created on the fly and others aren't in CakePHP 1.2.7?

    - by JoseMarmolejos
    I have the following model classes: class User extends AppModel { var $name= 'User'; var $belongsTo=array('SellerType' => array('className' => 'SellerType'), 'State' => array('className' => 'State'), 'Country' => array('className' => 'Country'), 'AdvertMethod' => array('className' => 'AdvertMethod'), 'UserType' => array('className' => 'UserType')); var $hasMany = array('UserQuery' => array('className' => 'UserQuery'));} And: class UserQuery extends AppModel { var $name = 'UserQuery'; var $belongsTo = array('User', 'ResidenceType', 'HomeType');} Everything works fine with the user class and all its associations, but the UserQuery class is being completely ignored by the orm (table name user_queries and the generated queries do cast it as UserQuery. Another weird thing is that if I delete the code inside the User class I get an error, but if I do the same for the UserQuery class I get no errors. So my question is why does cakephp generate a class on the fly for the UserQuery and ignores my class, and why doesn't it generate a class on the fly for the User as well ?

  • JavaScript: Can I declare a variable by querying which function is called? (Newbie)

    - by belle3WA
    I'm working with an existing JavaScript-powered cart module that I am trying to modify. I do not know JS and for various reasons need to work with what is already in place. The text that appears for my quantity box is defined within an existing function: function writeitems() { var i; for (i=0; i<items.length; i++) { var item=items[i]; var placeholder=document.getElementById("itembuttons" + i); var s="<p>"; // options, if any if (item.options) { s=s+"<select id='options"+i+"'>"; var j; for (j=0; j<item.options.length; j++) { s=s+"<option value='"+item.options[j].name+"'>"+item.options[j].name+"</option>"; } s=s+"</select>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"; } // add to cart s=s+method+"Quantity: <input id='quantity"+i+"' value='1' size='3'/> "; s=s+"<input type='submit' value='Add to Cart' onclick='addtocart("+i+"); return false;'/></p>"; } placeholder.innerHTML=s; } refreshcart(false); } I have two different types of quantity input boxes; one (donations) needs to be prefaced with a dollar sign, and one (items) should be blank. I've taken the existing additem function, copied it, and renamed it so that there are two identical functions, one for items and one for donations. The additem function is below: function additem(name,cost,quantityincrement) { if (!quantityincrement) quantityincrement=1; var index=items.length; items[index]=new Object; items[index].name=name; items[index].cost=cost; items[index].quantityincrement=quantityincrement; document.write("<span id='itembuttons" + index + "'></span>"); return index; } Is there a way to declare a global variable based on which function (additem or adddonation) is called so that I can add that into the writeitems function so display or hide the dollar sign as needed? Or is there a better solution? I can't use HTML in the body of the cart page because of the way it is currently coded, so I'm depending on the JS to take care of it. Any help for a newbie is welcome. Thanks!

  • Background audio not working in windows 8 store / metro app

    - by roryok
    I've tried setting background audio through both a mediaElement in XAML <MediaElement x:Name="MyAudio" Source="Assets/Sound.mp3" AudioCategory="BackgroundCapableMedia" AutoPlay="False" /> And programmatically async void setUpAudio() { var package = Windows.ApplicationModel.Package.Current; var installedLocation = package.InstalledLocation; var storageFile = await installedLocation.GetFileAsync("Assets\\Sound.mp3"); if (storageFile != null) { var stream = await storageFile.OpenAsync(Windows.Storage.FileAccessMode.Read); _soundEffect = new MediaElement(); _soundEffect.AudioCategory = AudioCategory.BackgroundCapableMedia; _soundEffect.AutoPlay = false; _soundEffect.SetSource(stream, storageFile.ContentType); } } // and later... _soundEffect.Play(); But neither works for me. As soon as I minimise the app the music fades out

  • Length of a string in pixels

    - by Rose
    Guys, I'm populating a dropDownList with arrayCollection of strings. I want the width of the drop down list control to match with the size (in pixels) of the longest string in the array collection. The problem I'm facing is: the font width of the strings in the collection are different e.g. 'W' looks wider than 'l'. So I estimated the width of a character to be 8 pixels but that's not pretty neat. If a string that has many 'W' and 'M' is encountered the estimation is wrong. So I want precise pixel width of strings. How can i get the exact length of a string in pixels?? My solution that estimates all character to be 8 pixels wide is given below: public function populateDropDownList():void{ var array:Array = new Array("o","two","three four five six seven eight wwww"); var sampleArrayCollection:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection(array); var customDropDownList:DropDownList = new DropDownList(); customDropDownList.dataProvider=sampleArrayCollection; customDropDownList.prompt="Select ..."; customDropDownList.labelField="Answer Options:"; //calculating the max width var componentWidth=10; //default for each(var answerText in array){ Alert.show("Txt size: "+ answerText.length + " pixels: " + answerText.length*9); if(answerText.length * 8 > componentWidth){ componentWidth=answerText.length * 8; } } customDropDownList.width=componentWidth; answers.addChild(customDropDownList); } Any idea or solution is highly valued. Thanks

  • I just don't get the C++ Pointer/Reference system.

    - by gnm
    I've never had problems with references as in Python (implicit) or PHP (explicit &). In PHP you write $p = &$myvar; and you have $p as a reference pointing to $myVar. So I know in C++ you can do this: void setToSomething( int& var ) { var = 123; } int myInt; setToSomething( myInt ); Myint is now 123, why? Doesn't & mean "memory address of" x in C++? What do I do then if var is only the adress to myInt and not a pointer? void setToSomething( int* var ) { var* = 123; } int myInt; int* myIntPtr = &myInt; setToSomething( myIntPtr ); Does the above work as expected? I don't understand the difference between * and & in C++ fully. They tell you & is used to get the adress of a variable, but why IN GODS NAME does that help you in functions etc. like in the first example?

  • PHP, better to set the variable before if or use if/else?

    - by DssTrainer
    So a simple one that I just never could find a straight answer on. What is better (performance or otherwise): $var = false; If ($a == $b) { $var = true; } or If ($a == $b) { $var = true; } else { $var = false; } I've heard arguments for both ways. I find the first cleaner to ensure I have it set, and a little less code too. The pro being that you may only need to set it once without conditional. But the con being that if the argument is true, it gets set twice. I am assuming the second way is probably best practice

  • EF Query with conditional include that uses Joins

    - by makerofthings7
    This is a follow up to another user's question. I have 5 tables CompanyDetail CompanyContacts FK to CompanyDetail CompanyContactsSecurity FK to CompanyContact UserDetail UserGroupMembership FK to UserDetail How do I return all companies and include the contacts in the same query? I would like to include companies that contain zero contacts. Companies have a 1 to many association to Contacts, however not every user is permitted to see every Contact. My goal is to get a list of every Company regardless of the count of Contacts, but include contact data. Right now I have this working query: var userGroupsQueryable = _entities.UserGroupMembership .Where(ug => ug.UserID == UserID) .Select(a => a.GroupMembership); var contactsGroupsQueryable = _entities.CompanyContactsSecurity;//.Where(c => c.CompanyID == companyID); /// OLD Query that shows permitted contacts /// ... I want to "use this query inside "listOfCompany" /// //var permittedContacts= from c in userGroupsQueryable //join p in contactsGroupsQueryable on c equals p.GroupID //select p; However this is inefficient when I need to get all contacts for all companies, since I use a For..Each loop and query each company individually and update my viewmodel. Question: How do I shoehorn the permittedContacts variable above and insert that into this query: var listOfCompany = from company in _entities.CompanyDetail.Include("CompanyContacts").Include("CompanyContactsSecurity") where company.CompanyContacts.Any( // Insert Query here.... // b => b.CompanyContactsSecurity.Join(/*inner*/,/*OuterKey*/,/*innerKey*/,/*ResultSelector*/) ) select company; My attempt at doing this resulted in: var listOfCompany = from company in _entities.CompanyDetail.Include("CompanyContacts").Include("CompanyContactsSecurity") where company.CompanyContacts.Any( // This is concept only... doesn't work... from grps in userGroupsQueryable join p in company.CompanyContactsSecurity on grps equals p.GroupID select p ) select company;

  • Workflow for reading and writing files

    - by AIR_PhillipSenn
    In Workflow for reading and writing files the authors use these two lines of code: var file = air.File.documentsDirectory; file = file.resolvePath("AIR Test/testFile.txt"); But I think that it's using one variable for two different meanings, isn't it? Wouldn't it be better to write them as: var myDocumentsDirectory = air.File.documentsDirectory; var myTestFile = myDocumentsDirectory.resolvePath("AIR Test/testFile.txt");

  • refactor this javascript code

    - by nathanvda
    I have two click-events, that are nearly similar, but not quite. I am wondering how to refactor them best: $('.remove_fields.dynamic').live('click', function(e) { var $this = $(this); var after_removal_trigger_node = $this.closest(".nested-fields").parent(); trigger_removal_callback($this); e.preventDefault(); $this.closest(".nested-fields").remove(); trigger_after_removal_callback(after_removal_trigger_node); }); $('.remove_fields.existing').live('click', function(e) { var $this = $(this); var after_removal_trigger_node = $this.closest(".nested-fields").parent(); trigger_removal_callback($this); e.preventDefault(); $this.prev("input[type=hidden]").val("1"); $this.closest(".nested-fields").hide(); trigger_after_removal_callback(after_removal_trigger_node); }); As you can tell there is a fair bit of overlap. I am wondering what the best/nicest way would be to refactor this code.

  • Using type passed as a template in C++

    - by MeDiCS
    Is it possible to actually use the type passed as a template for control flow? I'd like to write a function that uses templates, which in turn calls another function based on the type passed: template <class T> void test_function (T var) { //Do stuff if (T == char) { bar (var); } else { foo (var); } //Do even more stuff } If not, I'll have to fallback to enums...

  • Problem with adding integers in an array

    - by rshivers
    Hello again, I'm trying to loop through my totals in order to get a grand total for my web app. So far the code I am working with is the following: function calcAllFields() { var name = parseFloat($('div [name = total[]]').text()); var totArray = $.makeArray(name); var total = 0; for (var i = 0; i < totArray.length; i++) { total += totArray[i]; } $("#target1").text(total); } Instead of adding integers, something is being read as a string. Say I want to add 200 + 50, instead of 250 I get 20050. Could anyone please point out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

  • Why does cloning the django inline formsets result to forms with similar ids and names?

    - by user1289167
    In my project I use django inline formsets. I got the jquery to clone the formsets but unfortunately the cloned forms have the same names and ids and so data entered in the last one overwrites the data from the first form. What could I be doing wrong? Here is the script: <script type="text/javascript">> function cloneMore(selector, type) { var newElement = $(selector).clone(true); var total = $('#id_' + type + '-TOTAL_FORMS').val(); newElement.find(':input').each(function() { var name = $(this).attr('name').replace('-' + (total-1) + '-','-' + total + '-'); var id = 'id_' + name; $(this).attr({'name': name, 'id': id}).val('').removeAttr('checked'); }); newElement.find('label').each(function() { var newFor = $(this).attr('for').replace('-' + (total-1) + '-','-' + total + '-'); $(this).attr('for', newFor); }); total++; $('#id_' + type + '-TOTAL_FORMS').val(total); $(selector).after(newElement); } </script>
