    Hello everybody! I'm new to javascript and cant get this little thing to work. (all external scripts a of course loaded) I have this jQuery script: $('a.Link').click(function(){ autoComp('City'); }); function autoComp(strFormName) { var Company = 'Adobe Apple Microsoft'.split(" "); var City = 'London Paris Berlin'.split(" "); $('#'+strFormName).autocomplete(strFormName) } I cant get it to work. I've discovered that the problem is the last "strFormName" after .autocomplete Appreciate all the help I can get.

  • Adding "selected" into option from matching variable. PHP

    I have $country which stores the 2 letter country code of a user. US for example. <select id="countries"> <option value="US">United States</option> <option value="EN">England</option> <option value="AU">Australia</option> <option value="CA">Canada</option> etc. </select> What's the best practice to add "selected" to the option of the users country code? I'm against adding a million if's. Also note, the countries are harcoded in HTML, so no array. :(

    I am trying to figure out how to manage a Datagrid based on an XML object like this: <matrix rows="5" columns="5"> <column> <row>0.5</row> <row>0.21</row> </column> <column> <row>0.6</row> <row>0.9</row> </column> <column> <row>0.5</row> <row>0.5</row> </column> <column> <row>0.8</row> <row>0.4</row> </column> </matrix> I will need to populate the Datagrid column names based on a different XML object and use the above XML to populate each of the column's rows. I currently am able to create the Datagrid and populate its column headers but I am unsure as to how to how to add the rows for each column. The above XML will be update with new row and column elements added and deleted. This, of course, will be bound to the Datagrid to show updates. Thanks in advanced for your help.

Let's say I have 2 globals: var myarray=[1,3,5,7,9],hold; and then I do this: function setup() { alert (myarray[0]);//shows 1 hold=myarray; alert (hold);//appears to show 'hold' containing all the values of myarray. first number shown is 1 myarray[0]=2; alert (hold);//shows the values of myarray with the updated first entry. first numbe shown is 2 } Am I to take it that 'hold' is simply keeping a reference to myarray, rather than actually taking all the values of?

    I'm writing a program to ask the user to enter a value between 5 and 21 (inclusive). If the number entered is not in this range, it prints, "Please try again". If the number is within the range, I need to take that number, and print the sum of all the numbers from 1 to the value entered. So if the user entered "7", the sum would be "28". I successfully wrote the first loop, in the case of the number not being within the range, but cannot figure out how to run the second loop- whether to use a while, do-while, or for loop. I am just asking this out of curiosity!

In what programming language this is possible ? def lab(input) input = ['90'] end x = ['80'] lab(x) puts x #=> value of x has changed from ['80'] to ['90] I have written this in ruby but in ruby I get the final x value of 80 because ruby is pass-by-reference. However what is passed is the reference to the data held by x and not pointer to x itself same is true in JavaScript. So I am wondering if there is any programming language where the following is true.

    Hello, This is hard for me to word, but easier for me to demonstrate: I have a select option: <option <?php if($frequency[$key]=='1.10'){echo "selected";}?> value='1.10'>1 every 10 days</option> Really, $frequency[$key]=1.1; , but the above still shows up selected. I've never seen this before, and didnt know it could happen. Any ideas on how to prevent this? Working with php5. Thank you, Hudson

    I'm trying to pass a table name into my mysql stored procedure to use this sproc to select off of different tables but it's not working... this is what I"m trying: CREATE PROCEDURE `usp_SelectFromTables`( IN TableName varchar(100) ) BEGIN SELECT * FROM @TableName; END I've also tried it w/o the @ sign and that just tells me that TableName doesn't exist...which I know :)
