• Oracle Tutor: Create Accessible Content for the Disabled Community

  For many reasons--legal, business, and ethical--Oracle recognizes the need for its applications, and our customers' and partners' products built with our tools, to be usable by the disabled community. The following features of Tutor Author and Publisher software facilitate the creation of accessible HTML content for the disabled community.TablesThe following formatting guidelines will ensure that Tutor documents containing tables will be accessible once they are converted to HTML.• Determine whether a table is a "data table" or whether you are using a table simply for formatting. If it's a data table, you must use a heading for each column, and you should format this heading row as "table heading" style and select Table > Heading Rows Repeat.• For non data tables, it is not necessary to include a heading row.GraphicsTo create accessible graphics, add a caption to the graphic. In Microsoft Office 2000 and greater, right-click on the graphic and select Format Picture > Web (tab) > Alternative Text or select the graphic then Format > Picture > Web (tab) Alternative Text. Enter the appropriate information in the dialog box.When a document containing a graphic with alternative text is converted to HTML by Tutor, the HTML document will contain the appropriate accessibility information.Javascript elementsThe tabbed format and other javascript elements in the HTML version of the Tutor documents may not be accessible to all users. • Content Based Routing with BRE and ESB

  I've been working with BizTalk 2009 and the ESB toolkit for the past couple of days.  This is actually my first exposure to ESB and so far I'm pleased with how easy it is to work with. Initially we had planned to use UDDI for storing endpoint information.  However after discussing this with my client, we opted to look at BRE instead of UDDI since we're already storing transforms in BRE.  Fortunately making the change to BRE from UDDI was quite simple.  This solution of course has the added advantage of not needing to go through the convoluted process of registering our endpoints in UDDI. The first thing to remember if you want to do content based routing with BRE and ESB is that the pipleines included in the ESB toolkit don't include disassembler components.  This means that you'll need to first create a custom recieve pipeline with the necessary disassembler for your message type as well as the ESB components, itinerary selector and dispather. Next you need to create a BRE policy.  The ESB.ContextInfo vocabulary contains vocabulary links for the various items in the ESB context dictionary.  In this vocabulary, you'll find an item called Context Message Type, use this as the left hand side of your condition.  Set the right hand side to your message type, something like http://your.message.namespace/#yourrootelement.  Now find the ESB.EndPointInfo vocabulary.  This contains links to all the properties related to endpoint information.  Use the various set operators in your rule's action to configure your endpoint. In the example above, I'm using the WCF-SQL adapter. Now that the hard work is out of the way, you just need to configure the resolver in your itinerary. Nothing complicated here.  Just select BRE as your resolver implementation and select your policy from the drop-down list.  Note that when you select a policy, the Version field will be automatically filled in with the version of your policy.  If you leave this as-is, the resolver will always use that policy version.  Alternatively, you can clear the version number and the resolver will use the highest deployed version.

• CentOS 5.4 NFS v4 client file permissions differ from original files & NFS Share file contents

  Having a strange problem with NFS share and file permissions on the 1 out of the 2 NFS clients, web1 has file permissions issues but web2 is fine. web1 and web2 are load balanced web servers. So questions are: how do I ensure NFS share file contents retain the same permissions for user/group as the original files on web1 server like they do on web2 server ? how do I reverse what I did on web1, i tried unmount command and said command not found ? Information: I'm using 3 dedicated server setup. All 3 servers CentOS 5.4 64bit based. servers are as follows: web1 - nfs client with file permissions issues web2 - nfs client file permissions are OKAY db1 - nfs share at /nfsroot web2 nfs client was setup by my web host, while web1 was setup by me. I did the following commands on web1 and it worked with updating db1 nfsroot share at /nfsroot/site_css with latest files on web1 but the file permissions don't stick even if i use tar with -p command to perserve file permissions ? cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zcp site_css/ > site_css.tar.gz mount -t nfs4 nfsshareipaddress:/site_css /home/username/public_html/forums/scripts/site_css/ -o rw,soft cd /home/username/public_html/forums/script/ tar -zxf site_css.tar.gz But checking on web1 file permissions no longer username user/group but owned by nobody ? but web2 file permissions correct ? This is only a problem for web1 while web2 is correct ? Looks like numeric ids aren't the same ? • CNAME subdomain of subdomain with content on first subdomain

  Okay so maybe that title is a bit confusing but here is what I'm trying to do: I have a subdomain with content at my.example.com I want to set up something like sub.my.example.com This does not seem to work if there is content on my.example.com However if there is not content on the first subdomain it seems that it's okay to CNAME the record to example2.org This is my first real experiance with CNAME so I'm wondering about common errors to check for. my.example.com is an A record and sub.my.example.com is a CNAME EDIT I am managing the DNS though Web Host Manger (WHM) Dns records. The content is at http://vbx.knowconceptdw.net and I'm trying to set a voicemail CNAME to point to http://api.twillio.com at http://voicemail.vbx.knowconceptdw.net

• What Raid should I use for Website Static Files / Content

  I'm building a Web server (IIS7) and would like to know the best practice for storing static content and the uploaded files of website's users (predominantly pictures, but also other documents like pdf's). I will keep the operating System on a Raid 1 array. Where should I be keeping the actual website's pages & files, it's own static content, and that of it's users? Should I be placing this content on a seperate raid array, and if so which type? I was considering using SLC SSD's (Such as the Intel's X25-e) but the following issues came to light. Will the SLC SSD's give any improvement over a 2.5" 15k SAS Drive for this type of content? If I did use SSD's, I'm under the belief I would still need to use Raid for redundancy, yet I've heard Intel X25-e's don't support TRIM. Does this scrap them as a legitimate option?

  Hi, could you kindly share your emacs dot-files for web development that works with CSS, HTML, JavaScript, PHP and if possible with Python Django. I really need complete setup. I looked nXhtml and its good on some parts (html code completion works but sucks on indentation and CSS code completion does not work and says tag table is empty most cases. I really need something that works: code completion works out of the box, git integration and pretty indentation and supports multi-mode for mixed HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP code.

• HTTP Content-type header for cached files

  Hello, Using Apache with mod_rewrite, when I load a .css or .js file and view the HTTP headers, the Content-type is only set correctly the first time I load it - subsequent refreshes are missing Content-type altogether and it's creating some problems for me. Specifically, gzip is not compressing these files. I can get around this by appending a random query string value to the end of each filename, eg. http://www.site.com/script.js?12345 However, I don't want to have to do that, since caching is good and all I want is for the Content-type to be present. I've tried using a RewriteRule to force the type but still didn't solve the problem. Any ideas? The problem is that I need to implement CSSOMParser for that, and here are the imports import org.w3c.dom.css.CSSRule; import org.w3c.dom.css.CSSRuleList; import org.w3c.dom.css.CSSStyleRule; import org.w3c.dom.css.CSSStyleSheet; import com.steadystate.css.parser.CSSOMParser; the problem is that none of those classes ale probably javascript compilant, so they don't want to compile if they're on the client side. • Is it possible to parse a stylesheet with Nokogiri?

  I've spent my requisite two hours Googling this, and I can not find any good answers, so let's see if humans can beat Google computers. I want to parse a stylesheet in Ruby so that I can apply those styles to elements in my document (to make the styles inlined). So, I want to take something like <style> .mystyle { color:white; } </style> And be able to extract it into a Nokogiri object of some sort. The Nokogiri class "CSS::Parser" (http://nokogiri.rubyforge.org/nokogiri/Nokogiri/CSS/Parser.html) certainly has a promising name, but I can't find any documentation on what it is or how it works, so I have no idea if it can do what I'm after here. My end goal is to be able to write code something like: a_web_page = Nokogiri::HTML(html_page_as_string) parsed_styles = Nokogiri::CSS.parse(html_page_as_string) parsed_styles.each do |style| existing_inlined_style = a_web_page.css(style.declaration) || '' a_web_page.css(style.declaration)['css'] = existing_inlined_style + style.definition end Which would extract styles from a stylesheet and add them all as inlined styles to my document.

  I'm using WordPress plugin Category Page to display the most recent 5 posts from a certain category on a regular content page (not the blog page) of a website. Right now the plugin is limited to display the post title linked to the post page. This is a video blog type site and I need the plugin to display the post title (as it does now) with the video as well. Probably just telling the script to show the content would work but I don't know how to tweak it. • Can I use @import to import Kod's default style sheet into my own?

  I understand that Kod is being actively developed and is prone to drastic changes in any area. I would like to modify some small things (like font face and size or certain colors) while still being able to benefit from any changes or updates to the default Kod stylesheet. I thought that I would be able to @import the default stylesheet into my own to achieve this. This is what ~/.kod/custom.css would look like, @import url("file:///Applications/Kod.app/Contents/Resources/style/default.css"); /* Change the default font face and color. */ body { font-family: Menlo, monospace; color: #efefef; } This stylesheet was set with the following defaults command, per the comments at the top of Kod's default CSS file: defaults write se.hunch.kod style/url ~/.kod/custom.css Unfortunately, this didn't work. When I first tried to reload the style, Kod crashed. It opened fine again, but the @import statement wasn't working, and Kod crashed every time I saved the custom.css file. Am I doing something wrong? Did I write my @import statement wrong? Is that not how @import is supposed to work? Did I miss some sort of documentation or Kod Google Groups post that mentions that Kod explicitly disallows this?

• Creating a VS 2010 Project with only content files.

  I have some content files that I would like to share between a number of projects in Visual Studio. I have put these files in their own project, set the build action to "Content", and the copy to output directory to "Copy if newer". I would like all these files to be copied to the bin/debug directory of the projects that reference them. I can get it to work by including a reference to the "contents" project in each of the projects that need the files, but that requires that a minimal assembly be generated (3K). I assume there is a way, using MSBuild, to make this all work without creating the empty assembly?

Which is great. but it does not load in images that are used as div background images loaded through the css file. So i think the most effective way is to create a piece of code that fades in all the divs on the page after the content ie: images and text has loaded. Is there A way to do this. • how do I setup Apache's Content-Encoding Header?

  When attempting to validate my site with the W3C validator, it returns the error, "Don't know how to decode Content-Encoding 'none'". Firebug confirms that my server is sending the header, "Content-Encoding: none". But I can't find any directive in apache2.conf or in my vhost that sets the Content-Encoding header. Where does the directive go, and what should it be set to? UPDATE: On further examination it seems something is wrong with mod_deflate (gzip). It's zipping my css files just fine, but is not zipping the html generated by my php scripts. I have: AddOutputFilterByType DEFLATE text/html text/plain text/xml text/css And the pages are showing a mime type of: "text/html". But content encoding is "none" and they aren't zipping. Perhaps these issues are related?

• IIS: Content-Length 0 for CSS, Javascript and Images

  After a clean re-installation of my Windows 7 system, I can't get IIS 7 to properly deliver any static content. Dynmic content (ASPX pages and content served by ASP.NET MVC controllers) works fine, but static files such as CSS, Javascript and Images give me a 200 OK status code and a Content-Length of 0. The problem occurs with all web sites on my server, even a brandnew ASP:NET MVC template project with no changes. It also occurs with both Firefox and IE 8. What could possibly be the problem? Note that I also installed the latest Windows Azure SDK, perhaps that messed up some settings. But I don't know how to proceed with for troubleshooting this.

• Is this text wrapping technique possible in CSS and jQuery?

  I have built a sliding text thing for a website. http://www.solomonadventures.com/~new/adventure-tours/seafari-tours/ The background contains the menu (on the right hand side), and when it originally loads, I have placed an element to make the text look like it is wrapping around the menu. Now, I have a sliding text thing I was asked to implement. The buttons to use it are currently in the top left corner. My question is, when I slide the content down, am I able to somehow make the text still wrap around it? This is all I have thought of so far (all with trade offs) Make the text appear beneath the menu - no need to wrap Make the text as narrow to the beginning of the menu - no need to wrap Manually place placeholders in the text that make it line break so it appears to wrap - not elegant (site uses a CMS too) Is there any jQuery selector I could write that would allow me to select the paragraph from top (once slid to the top) or the top most text node (so I could do an after() to place a new placeholder element to force it to wrap?) Any other solutions? Many thanks.
