• How to configure WAMP (localhost) to send email using Gmail ?

  Hi, I'm learning PHP and I want to use the mail() function from my localhost. I have WAMP installed and a Gmail account. I know that the SMTP for Gmail is smtp.gmail.com and the port is 465 (more info from gmail). What I need to configure in WAMP so I can use the mail() function? Thanks!!

• Do you think it's a good idea to create a login box as a user control?

  Hi there guys! I'm starting out learning some ASP.Net programming and I'm going to be making a little community website for my friends and myself. I'm trying to pick up some good habits along the way. I was thinking of having a usercontrol and have that 'loginBox' shows the appropriate textboxes and login button, but also show his username when he is logged in. Do you think I should handle this as a user control or am I missing something as an ASP.Net newbie?

• Ruby does 'elseif' still exist

  I'm just learning ROR and I came across the if / else statements. I also came across 'elseif' but my text editor (textmate) doesn't pick it up as a keyword, not does the program run properly. if name == 'Chris' puts 'What a lovely name.' elseif name == 'Katy' puts 'What a lovely name!' end I'm using the book, Learn to Program, which was written several years ago. I was wondering if the 'elseif' was changed because when I simply use 'else' it seems to function properly

  This may be dumb question. But somehow this engaged me for sometime and after some basic research I couldn't find an answer. I was learning JavaScript and a code I wrote had an error and has been outputting infinite loops of alerts. I tried the normal shortcuts like Ctrl + C and Ctrl + Z but they didn't work.
