Renaming TurboGears 2's Repoze Fields with TGAdmin

I've been working on renaming TurboGears 2's Repoze 'groups' field to 'roles' to free the namespace and db tables for other purposes. Also roles makes much more sense to me then groups because I have a strong Drupal background. Now I have found some of the docs to do this such as these: http://www.turbogears.org/2.1/docs/main/Auth/Customization.html#customizing-the-model-structure-assumed-by-the-quickstart http://code.gustavonarea.net/repoze.what-quickstart/#customizing-the-model-definition However these only go part of the way. I have made (I'm pretty sure at least, I've double checked a few times.) all the changes required as you can see in this diff. This seems to work fine however I've ran into a rather major issue with the TurboGears Admin system. I've tried http://turbogears.org/2.0/docs/main/Extensions/Admin/index.html and it didn't seem to make any difference, however I'm not 100% sure I did it correctly. The problem occurs when I attempt to go to localhost/admin/permissions/. It causes a Internal Server Error and outputs the following error. http://pastebin.com/YWMH3SiU This error does not happen on the Roles/Users pages and the permissions /edit/1 also works. I'm running kubuntu 10.04 with TG 2.1b2. (I'm running the beta mostly for easier mako support which is really important.) Any help would be very appreciated.

ZF2: How to get Zend\Navigation inside custom router?

I have custom router and I have to get access to Zend\Navigation inside this custom router. I was googling, asking and searching and no results :/ All I need is to find nodes with 'link' param using Zend\Navigation in my AliasSegment::match function. C++ classes with members referencing each other

I'm trying to write 2 classes with members that reference each other. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or it's just not possible. Can anyone help me out here... I'm pretty sure I'm not missing any semicolons or stuff like that. The program works find if I take out one of the members. I tried finding similar questions and the solution was to use pointers, but that's what I'm doing and it does't seem to be working!

Debugging a HTTP Handler from Visual Studio

I am trying to debug a HTTP Handler in Visual Studio and the break point is not getting hit. Does anyone have an idea on how to go about debugging HTTP Handlers in Visual Studio? I am using VS 2010 Premium, .NET 4.0 on a Windows 7 machine. In my Web Application I have a HTTP Handler in /HTTPHandler/TrackingHandler.cs The following is in my web config file: <system.webServer> <handlers> <add name="TrackingHandler" path="/tx/*" verb="*" type="ProjectNamespace.TrackingHandler" resourceType="Unspecified" preCondition="integratedMode" /> </handlers> </system.webServer> My HTTP Handler looks like below namespace ProjectNamespace { public class TrackingHandler : IHttpHandler { public bool IsReusable { get { return true; } } public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context) { //Breakpoint on the very first line below string tracker = Path.GetFileName(context.Request.PhysicalPath); ....... } } } I start my Web Application using any random page in Visual Studio Debug using the builtin Web Server. I then maually edit the URL to point to the /tx/ directory and some random string after it. For e.g. my current URL looks like http://localhost:53699/tx/sdfs. I thought this should pull up the breakpoint on the first line of ProcessRequest() but it does not. I’d be grateful for any ideas. O. O.

Book recommendation for Silverlight

Hi there, yet another question for recommendations for a book on Silverlight. I look for a book that covers the UI and styling and, if possible, custom drawing and graphics. Very important for me is the style of the book - it should focus on the actual programming and not on where to click in Visual Studio to get things done. Let's take a fictional example for proper usage of the DataGrid control: Bad: To use the data grid, drag it from the toolbox onto the control. You can change the background color by clicking on “Background” in the properties. To define custom columns, click on columns and edit them in the configuration window that opens. Good: To use the DataGrid, you need a reference to the blah dll and declare the namespace in the XAML like this (blah), the data model should be like blah and if you want to define how the columns look like, you need to define them like this (more blah). And if you want to do this in C# because you for whatever reason aren’t able or willing to use XAML, this would look like blah. Bonus points for coverage of topics like how to manage resources (images/fonts) and internationalization. There are quite some snippets on how to do that on the internet but somehow each of them looks like they work but are not a proper way of doing it. cheers Mathias

I have included xmlns:lift="http://liftweb.net/" in default.... I can't find anyway to fix this... I am getting XML Parsing Error: prefix not bound to a namespace Location: http://localhost:8080/ Line Number 29, Column 10: <td><work:docId></work:docId></td> in firefox. I have written similar code and had it working in another app and just cant even find anything im doing different thats not trivial naming... Thanks in advance!

Is this GetEnumAsStrings<T>() method reinventing the wheel?

I have a number of enums and need to get them as List<string> objects in order to enumerate through them and hence made the GetEnumAsStrings<T>() method. But it seems to me there would be an easier way. Why do i get E_ACCESSDENIED when reading public shortcuts through Shell32?

I'm trying to read the targets of all desktop shortcuts in a C# 4 application. The shortcuts on a windows desktop can come from more that one location, depending on whether the shortcut is created for all users or just the current user. In this specific case I'm trying to read a shortcut from the public desktop, e.g. from C:\Users\Public\Desktop\shortcut.lnk. The code is like this (path is a string contaning the path to the lnk file): var shell = new Shell32.ShellClass(); var folder = shell.NameSpace(Path.GetDirectoryName(path)); var folderItem = folder.ParseName(Path.GetFileName(path)); if (folderItem != null) { var link = (Shell32.ShellLinkObject)folderItem.GetLink; The last line throws an System.UnauthorizedAccessException, indicating that it's not allowed to read the shortcut file's contents. I have tried on shortcut files on the user's private desktop (c:\Users\username\Desktop) and that works fine. So, my questions are: (1) why is my application not allowed to /read/ the shortcut from code, when I can clearly read the contents as a user? (2) is there a way to get around this? Maybe using a special manifest file for the application? And, by the way, my OS is Windows 7, 64-bit. be well -h-

Routing trouble for RESTful API - Rails

I'm building out an API for web app that I've been working on for some time. I've started with the User model. The user portion of the API will allow remote clients to a) retrieve user data, b) update user information and c) create new users. I've gotten all of this to work, but it doesn't seem like its setup correctly. Here are my questions: Should the API endpoint be users or user? What's the best practice? I have to add the action to the end, which I would expect to be picked up instead by the request type so I don't have to specify it explicitly. How do I get my routes setup properly as not to have to include the method for protected actions? Let me give some examples: Get request for show - want it to work without the "show" curl -u rmbruno:blah http://app.local/api/users/show Put request for update - want it to work without the "update" curl -X put -F 'user[forum_notifications]=true' -u rmbruno:blah http://app.local/api/users/update Create - works with or without 'create' which is what I want for all these actions curl -X post -F 'user[login]=mamafatta' -F 'user[email][email protected]' -F 'user[password]=12345678' http://twye.local/api/users/ How do I structure routes to not require the action name? Isn't that the common way to to RESTful APIs? Here is my route for the API now: map.namespace :api do |route| route.resources :users route.resources :weight end I'm using restful authentication which is handling the http auth in curl. Any guidance on the routes issues and best practice on singular versus plural would be really helpful. Thanks! -A

asp.net ajax toolkit combobox doesn't work in hidden div

I have a combobox inside a hidden div which I use css display = none to make it invisible, but when I make the div visible by setting display = block, the combobox just show the input and its button and ul list all have css as display = 'none', visibility ='hidden'. I can tell it is done by combobox inbuild javascript because I tried to use javascript to set the css manually with no luck. It is a bug of combobox. Urgent help needed. I spent a week to solve this, and our team put a lot trust on the toolkit. Please help me on this, all javascript gurus, thanks. Below is the code to reproduce the bug. Access reading error when using class member variable

Hi, I have a class with private member variables declared in a header file. In my constructor, I pass in some filenames and create other objects using those names. This works fine. When I try to add another member variable, however, and initialize it in the constructor, I get an access reading violation. I sent the code to someone else and it works fine on his computer. Any idea what could be wrong? Quartz.Net scheduler works locally but not on remote host

Hi. I have a timed quartz.net job working fine on my dev machine, but once deployed to a remote server it is not triggering. I believe the job is scheduled ok, because if I postback, it tells me the job already exists (I normally check for postback however). The email code definitely works, as the 'button1_click' event sends emails successfully. I understand I have full or medium trust on the remove server. My host says they don't apply restrictions that they know of which would affect it. HI! I'm trying to create a list that some of the elements are defined and some are not, without priority to order.
