    OK, I know, Int32.MaxValue * Int32.MaxValue will yield a number larger than Int32 BUT, shouldn't this statement raise some kind of an exception? I ran across this when doing something like IF (X * Y Z) where all are Int32. in X and Y are sufficiently large enough, you get a bogus value from X*Y Why is this so and how to get around this? besides casting everything to int64

    Hi there: I am trying to type in a pair of angle brackets in Eclipse, like "<". However it shows up as a single quotation and a dot, like "'.".     In Internet Explorer 7, this code executes consistently in 47 ms: function updateObjectValues() { $('.objects').html(12345678); // ~500 DIVs } however, this code executes consistently in 157 ms: function updateObjectValues() { $('.objects').html('12345678'); // ~500 DIVs } Passing a number is over 3x faster than a string. Why are these results so dramatically different? And, is there any way to help the performance of the string?

    Hi, I'm using jqTouch. Trying to figure out why when the scene / div change, it just change abruptly without the slide animation? Here is the setting that I have now: var jQT = new $.jQTouch({ slideSelector: '.link', useAnimations: true }); Again the scene change works just fine, just that I don't see the slide animation.   • How to figure out why .NET app runs at 32-bit on a 64-bit machine

    I have a .NET app (webforms - .NET 3.5) that is running on a 64-bit server as 32-bit (I checked the IntPtr.Size result). The compilation is set to AnyCPU so I would expect that on a 64-bit machine, the app would be run at 64-bit. There are many Third-party programs incorporated into the app, could they be causing a problem? How do I figure out why 64-bit compilation is not being done?

    I was thinking about garbage collection on the way home, and I began wondering, why does the garbage collector totally freeze execution of a program? Personally I would have designed it to block any threads which try to allocate a new object, but threads which were running would be left alone. I can't imagine any situation where this would be a problem compared to how a garbage collector currently works.

I have spent the last half hour working with Chrome's Inspector and Firefox's DOM inspector - all to no avail. I just cannot figure out why it's doing this.
