i want to jump to a specific page of a pdf file via the google docs via the editor url https://docs.google.com/file/d/xxx/edit or the embed url https://docs.google.com/file/d/xxx/preview i am not looking to use the http://docs.google.com/gview?url= referenced in the stackoverflow question how to open specific page on Google's docs viewer as i want to do this for documents where authentication is required the the document is not available via public url. is there some way of appending an anchor (i would have expected it to be https://docs.google.com/file/d/xxx/preview#10) or a query (e.g. https://docs.google.com/file/d/xxx/preview?page=10) to the google docs / drive / apps viewer?

php crashes with no core file and this message : apc_mmap failed

Description of the problem Regularly, cron php processes crash on our production server, which result in mails with the following body : PHP Fatal error: PHP Startup: apc_mmap: mmap failed: in Unknown on line 0 Segmentation fault (core dumped) I think the Segmentation fault (core dumped) should result in core files being handled by apport and then written in /var/crashes, but the files I can see there are there since yesterday, although the last crash occured today : -rw-r----- 1 root whoopsie 1138528 mai 22 04:09 _usr_bin_php5.0.crash -rw-r----- 1 frontoffice whoopsie 1166373 mai 20 18:00 _usr_bin_php5.1005.crash -rw-r----- 1 frontoffice whoopsie 81622658 mai 22 00:05 _usr_sbin_php5-fpm.1005.crash I tried to download the last one anyway, and ran gdb /usr/sbin/php5-fpm /tmp/_usr_sbin_php5-fpm.1005.crash, only to be told that the file is not a core file (its format was not recognized). Bug with Windows/Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

Hi, Recently I copied few photos from my digi cam to my laptop. And what i found was, in Thumbnail view, the Image preview on the photos are different from the actual file. i.e consider if the Image preview on a file is image of a Forest, on Opening the file in Windows Fax viewer i get image of a Seashore. The Actual image is that of a seashore. But in image preview i'm getting different images. How to get rid of this.? It is really annoying. I open a file expecting a image and it turns out to be a different image. Thanks in advance

IIS Reverse Proxy support for multiple protocols

I have a server 2012 machine running IIS. It's in my DMZ and I would like to use it to do reverse proxy for several services. I can get it to route traffic on port 80 to 2 separate internal servers running web apps but there are some issues when I try to forward SSH (not port 80/443) and then when I try to forward OWA (Micrsoft exchange's 'webmail' services) to the internal mail server I run in to issues with guides (like this: http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/07/19/reverse-proxy-for-exchange-server-2013-using-iis-arr-part-1.aspx) when they say to have all traffic forwarded to the server farm created for OWA. My question for you all is this - given that there is no more Threat Management Gateway (only runs on server 2008) and ISA 2006 is also dead - is it possible to support multiple types of reverse proxies with different protocols (ftp, ssh, web, ssl-web) in IIS, or would it be better to install a different DMZ OS like a nginx server and use linux firewalls + nginx reverse proxy? Nginx location to match query parameters

Is it possible in nginx to have a location {} block that matches query parameters. For example I want to pick up that "preview=true" in this url and then instruct it to do several different things, all possible in a location block. http://192.158.0.1/web/test.php?hello=test&preview=true&another=var The problem I'm having is that my test stuff doesn't seem to match, it seems like I can only match the URL itself? E.g. location ~ ^(.*)(preview)(.*)$ Or something aloong those lines?

Prevent Chrome from automatically opening downloaded PDF and Image files

When I download a PDF or image in Google Chrome on my Mac, is it possible to prevent Chrome from automatically opening it in my default application for that file type (e.g., Preview)? I notice that Chrome does not do this for other downloaded files such as audio and ZIP archives. I still want to be able to preview files in Chrome; I just want to prevent it from automatically launching my image/PDF viewer application after I download them. For example: I click on a link in an email to a PDF document or an image file. Chrome displays the contents in the browser. I press Cmd-S and save the file to my computer. When the download finishes, the file opens automatically in Preview.app. It's that last step that I would like to bypass.

Tool or website or process to display previews of website templates residing in archive files?

I have hundreds of website templates in rar or zip files. To view any of them I have to extract the archive to a temporary folder and then view the template in there. It's a time consuming manual process to do this for each template Is there a tool which enables me to quickly preview the templates in the files? OR (if I extract each template into a separate folder off a master folder) A web app which can enable previewing of each template by automatically creating a link or a preview image (similar to template sites) of the home page for? OR any method to preview the templates in the fastest convenient way possible?

WMD editor freezes IE7 for 3 seconds on load

Hello all, I am using the WMD editor's original code(not the stackoverflow version) since I need multiple of 'em on the same page and stackoverflow's version makes heavy use of element IDs internally since they aren't going to be having more than one editor instance per page. The code runs fin in FF 3.5, etc.. However, when I run it in IE8 (in IE7 compatibility mode), it freezes the whole browser for about 3 sec. before a new instance shows up. I tried profiling it with IE's dev. tools, and it seems that the getWidth() function on line 520 of the minified version of the code is taking up all the time. However, when I tried to hard-code the return (since it was always returning the same thing), the bottleneck shifted to the getHeight() function. [BEGINNER] Javascript Pop Ups

Hey All, My boss has asked for a page that will not change to have two timed pop ups load. I have found code and edited it to what I had thought it should do, but it is only loading the last onLoad event. I am a designer and I have helped with making webpages, but Javascript is so far outside of what I can understand. I have already learned how to use the single pop up and spent a whiiile learning the timeouts, but I cannot seem to get it to work with multiple popup functions. If you have a moment, would you take a look? This should be enabled by default and takes manual intervention to remove it. With this component enabled, the following happens: If you are presented with a certificate issued by an untrusted root authority, your computer will contact the Windows Update Web site to see if Microsoft has added the CA to its list of trusted authorities. If it has been added to the Microsoft list of trusted authorities, its certificate will automatically be added to your trusted certificate store. If the component is not installed and a certificate from an untrusted CA is encountered then the following text will be seen: This is an inconvenience for the person browsing the site as they need to click to continue. Applications, though, will be unable to proceed and will throw an exception. Example: ERROR_WINHTTP_SECURE_FAILURE 12175 (0x00002F8F) One or more errors were found in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server. If you look at the certificate’s properties, you can see the “Issued by:” value: This must match a Trusted Root Certificate Authority in the current user’s certificate store. Fraud Detection with the SQL Server Suite Part 1

While working on different fraud detection projects, I developed my own approach to the solution for this problem. In my PASS Summit 2013 session I am introducing this approach. I also wrote a whitepaper on the same topic, which was generously reviewed by my friend Matija Lah. In order to spread this knowledge faster, I am starting a series of blog posts which will at the end make the whole whitepaper. Abstract With the massive usage of credit cards and web applications for banking and payment processing, the number of fraudulent transactions is growing rapidly and on a global scale. Several fraud detection algorithms are available within a variety of different products. In this paper, we focus on using the Microsoft SQL Server suite for this purpose. In addition, we will explain our original approach to solving the problem by introducing a continuous learning procedure. Our preferred type of service is mentoring; it allows us to perform the work and consulting together with transferring the knowledge onto the customer, thus making it possible for a customer to continue to learn independently. This paper is based on practical experience with different projects covering online banking and credit card usage. Introduction A fraud is a criminal or deceptive activity with the intention of achieving financial or some other gain. Fraud can appear in multiple business areas. (2011), Detecting Credit Card Fraud by Decision Trees and Support Vector Machines, Proceedings of the International MultiConference of Engineers and Computer Scientists 2011 Vol 1. Hong Kong: IMECS. Dealing with frauds includes fraud prevention and fraud detection. Fraud prevention is a proactive mechanism, which tries to disable frauds by using previous knowledge. Fraud detection is a reactive mechanism with the goal of detecting suspicious behavior when a fraudster surpasses the fraud prevention mechanism. A fraud detection mechanism checks every transaction and assigns a weight in terms of probability between 0 and 1 that represents a score for evaluating whether a transaction is fraudulent or not. A fraud detection mechanism cannot detect frauds with a probability of 100%; therefore, manual transaction checking must also be available. With fraud detection, this manual part can focus on the most suspicious transactions. This way, an unchanged number of supervisors can detect significantly more frauds than could be achieved with traditional methods of selecting which transactions to check, for example with random sampling. There are two principal data mining techniques available both in general data mining as well as in specific fraud detection techniques: supervised or directed and unsupervised or undirected. Supervised techniques or data mining models use previous knowledge. Typically, existing transactions are marked with a flag denoting whether a particular transaction is fraudulent or not. Customers at some point in time do report frauds, and the transactional system should be capable of accepting such a flag. Supervised data mining algorithms try to explain the value of this flag by using different input variables. When the patterns and rules that lead to frauds are learned through the model training process, they can be used for prediction of the fraud flag on new incoming transactions. Unsupervised techniques analyze data without prior knowledge, without the fraud flag; they try to find transactions which do not resemble other transactions, i.e. outliers. In both cases, there should be more frauds in the data set selected for checking by using the data mining knowledge compared to selecting the data set with simpler methods; this is known as the lift of a model. Typically, we compare the lift with random sampling. The supervised methods typically give a much better lift than the unsupervised ones. However, we must use the unsupervised ones when we do not have any previous knowledge. Furthermore, unsupervised methods are useful for controlling whether the supervised models are still efficient. Accuracy of the predictions drops over time. Patterns of credit card usage, for example, change over time. In addition, fraudsters continuously learn as well. Therefore, it is important to check the efficiency of the predictive models with the undirected ones. When the difference between the lift of the supervised models and the lift of the unsupervised models drops, it is time to refine the supervised models. However, the unsupervised models can become obsolete as well. It is also important to measure the overall efficiency of both, supervised and unsupervised models, over time. We can compare the number of predicted frauds with the total number of frauds that include predicted and reported occurrences. For measuring behavior across time, specific analytical databases called data warehouses (DW) and on-line analytical processing (OLAP) systems can be employed. By controlling the supervised models with unsupervised ones and by using an OLAP system or DW reports to control both, a continuous learning infrastructure can be established. There are many difficulties in developing a fraud detection system. As has already been mentioned, fraudsters continuously learn, and the patterns change. The exchange of experiences and ideas can be very limited due to privacy concerns. In addition, both data sets and results might be censored, as the companies generally do not want to publically expose actual fraudulent behaviors. Therefore it can be quite difficult if not impossible to cross-evaluate the models using data from different companies and different business areas. This fact stresses the importance of continuous learning even more. Finally, the number of frauds in the total number of transactions is small, typically much less than 1% of transactions is fraudulent. Some predictive data mining algorithms do not give good results when the target state is represented with a very low frequency. Data preparation techniques like oversampling and undersampling can help overcome the shortcomings of many algorithms. SQL Server suite includes all of the software required to create, deploy any maintain a fraud detection infrastructure. The Database Engine is the relational database management system (RDBMS), which supports all activity needed for data preparation and for data warehouses. SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) supports OLAP and data mining (in version 2012, you need to install SSAS in multidimensional and data mining mode; this was the only mode in previous versions of SSAS, while SSAS 2012 also supports the tabular mode, which does not include data mining). Additional products from the suite can be useful as well. SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a tool for developing extract transform–load (ETL) applications. SSIS is typically used for loading a DW, and in addition, it can use SSAS data mining models for building intelligent data flows. SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is useful for presenting the results in a variety of reports. Data Quality Services (DQS) mitigate the occasional data cleansing process by maintaining a knowledge base. Master Data Services is an application that helps companies maintaining a central, authoritative source of their master data, i.e. the most important data to any organization. If your app can allow the user to leverage other applications and share data you Can have a real winner on your hands. Jake Sabulsky started off by explaining that you should be concentrating on the core functionality of your app and letting the framework take care of the features that users require these days. This is implemented be leveraging contracts. When Windows 8 was released it included the File, Share and Pickers contracts. With the release of Windows 8.1 they have added the Contacts and Calendar contracts. There have been a number of improvements to the original contracts. The File URI contract will now automatically detect the size that a new windows should be opened and will also allow you to programmatically influence new window size. The Share contract has been enhanced by allowing apps to always share screenshots and links to the app in the store. To my thinking the contracts are one of the most powerful features of Windows 8.
