    I know I can get posts (paginated, 25 at times) of a certain user with this: https://graph.facebook.com/575128756/posts And the likes of a certain post (paginated, 25 at times) with this GRAPH api call (I omit the first part of the url): /575128756_176517292390301/likes But if I want to get the likes from friends of the post user only? FQL could be an alternative (from table like and subqueries for friend and stream), but FQL seems so buggy in my tests I don't feel comfortable using it in a productive system. Is there anyway to achieve my target using the GRAPH api?

    Sheesh talk about limited information! I'm trying to get my Android application to connect to an online database to access information. There's quite a bit of info including geotags and these are going to be mapped on my app. The developer site has the very informative piece of information: You can use the network (when it's available) to store and retrieve data on your own web-based services. To do network operations, use classes in the following packages: java.net.* android.net.* Like I said in my previous question, I'm still very much an android newbie, and trying to remember my java oop from college is slow. Does anyone have an example of how this might work, or how I could implement it? I wouldn't mind even connecting to a local xml file, if I could find a good example of how to do that!? Am I just looking in all the wrong places?! Help. Please! T

    I have defined a function in my Navigation model that executes a query, and I was wondering if there's a more "Zendy" way of generating/executing the query. The query I'm using was proposed by Bill Karwin on another thread here for setting arbitrary record order. I tried using a prepared statement, but the values in the SIGN() function got quoted.     A user may have several labels, and links. Then, a user associates a label (or more) to a link. How does one represent the later relationship? A solution could be a many-to-many relationship btw user and link with the optional attribute label. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Java_Persistence/ManyToMany#Mapping_a_Join_Table_with_Additional_Columns In this case the relationship btw user and label may better be 'virtual'. Any alternative I'm not seeing? PS: I've used google bookmarks terminology, as it matches my case quite well.

    I've an entity LearningUnit that has an int primary key. Actually, it has nothing more. Entity Concept has the following relationship with it: @ManyToOne @Size(min=1,max=7) private LearningUnit learningUnit; In a constructor of Concept I need to retrieve the LearningUnit with the greatest primary key. If no LearningUnit exists yet I instantiate one. I then set this.learningUnit to the retrieved/instantied. Finally, I call the empty constructor of Concept in a try-catch block, to have the entitymanager do the cardinality check. If an exception is thrown (I expect one in the case that already another 7 Concepts are referring to the same LearningUnit. In that case, I case instantiate a new LearningUnit with a new greater primary key. Please, also point out, if any, clear pitfalls in my outlined algorithm above.

I know about some suspicious ways to do this by styling visited links and then sneaking on computed style attribute, but it's more of a hack, Mozilla and maybe other are planning to crack down on this, as it might be abused. But I need this to allow users more integration with their identity providers, like: Have a Google account? ~ load contacts for sharing from Google Contacts API Have an Yahoo account? ~ load contacts for sharing from Yahoo Contacts API none of the above? show no link I don't want to provide all these options to all visitors, would be nice if I can detect the account, and provide integration only in that case.

  • Extended Zend_Db_Table_Row_Abstract does not return values

    Hi, I'm quite new to Zend and the database classes from it. I'm having problems mapping a Zend_Db_Table_Row_Abstract to my rows. The problem is that whenever I try to map it to a class (Job) that extends the Zend_Db_Table_Row_Abstract class, the database data is not receivable anymore. I'm not getting any errors, trying to get data simply returns null. Here is my code so far: Jobs: class Jobs extends Zend_Db_Table_Abstract { protected $_name = 'jobs'; protected $_rowsetClass = "Job"; public function getActiveJobs() { $select = $this->select()->where('jobs.jobDateOpen < UNIX_TIMESTAMP()')->limit(15,0); $rows = $this->fetchAll($select); return $rows; } } Job: class Job extends Zend_Db_Table_Row_Abstract { public function getCompanyName() { //Gets the companyName for this row (Is on another table), just for example } } Controller: $oJobs = new Jobs(); $aActiveJobs = $oJobs->getActiveJobs(); foreach ($aActiveJobs as $value) { var_dump($value->jobTitle); } When I remove the "protected $_rowsetClass = "Job";" line, so that the table row is not mapped to my own class, I get all the jobTitles perfectly.     I would like to create a jQuery plugin with an API something like this: $("#chart").pluginName().attr("my_attr"); Instead of these: $("#chart").pluginName_attr("my_attr"); $.pluginName.attr("#chart", "my_attr"); Basically, instead of having to namespace every method that acts similar to ones in jQuery, I'd like to "scope" the methods to a custom api, where $("#chart).pluginName() would return an object such that get, attr, find, and a few others would be completely rewritten. I'm sure this is not a well-liked idea as it breaks convention (does it?), but it's easier and more readable, and probably more optimized, than the two options above. What are your thoughts?

  • How can I use a pre-populated core data DB on my device.

    Hi all, I have developed my app using core data. It works fine in the simulator. When I deploy it to the device the DB is empty. It is 49k where it should be 484k. Basically it is not populated. Since I don't write to the DB when the app is running I need to provide a populated DB to the App. So I copied the populated DB from the simulator to resources and then deploy. Still no luck. the populated DB is in MyApp.app and the AppDelegate is reading from the Documents directory. How do I either get it in the documents directory or get the app delegate to look in the app? Thanks in advance, Andrew

    Hi This is pretty hard to explain but i'll give it a shot. Working with Safari to create an extension as is now possible with Safari 5 - how would I go about getting the URL of the current page with using JavaScript and the Safari API? I would also like to be able to get a hyperlink that is selected. For instance in Safari when you right click on a hyperlink and it says open in a new tab, open in a window etc - clicking opens that hyperlink. What part of the API is used to get access to the link itself, and how does it know its a link in the first place? I hope thats clear enough. Thanks

    Question Is there a usable facebook entry point to the Data Storage API that facebook lists on their app admin page for developers, or should I consider an alternate mechanism? What alternative mechanisms exist to simply persist my information offsite (away from my server app) without stuffing it into a cookie that's prone to expire? ... Background The facebook Data Store Admin tool is made available in a facebook App's Settings as seen here: (continue reading below) However when I visit the DataStoreAdmin link nothing works (i.e. clicking the buttons to define the data store types and objects does nothing - I have tried different browsers). The Wiki page for Data Store API hasn't been updated recently and the second last update says the beta Data Store was taken offline. It seems odd the link would be readily available and highly visible at the top of the App configuration area if indeed it's defunct. I was hoping some kind of key/value pair solution to remove the data calls from my own server.

However, I consider this case a valid update task. How would I test it, so I can assign a success message? Is update() returns -1 when SQL query failed or also 0?
