  • Why does Chrome choke more often than IE 8 and Firefox?

    On my system, Chrome chokes quite more often than IE 8 or Firefox -- it searched for the website for 20 seconds and then said website not found. I wonder if it could be due to DNS issue or different browsers use different method to connecting to the internet (as Fiddler works for some browser and not for some)? any method to fix it? (the ISP here is AT&T u-verse, if it matters). thanks.

  • Adobe Flash Player fails

    Using UBUNTU 11.10 the FireFox error message says "A plugin is needed to display this content: Adobe Flash Player Installer" So I install it. Then it says "Installed - restart FireFox" I restart FireFox and the same error message appears. This problem doesn't happen with Windows 7 (IE, Chrome & Firefox are fine) or my previous version of Ubuntu. Problem occurs when I access CallOfRoma.com Thank You

  • Is there a way I can use $PATH as defined by my bash profile?

    I spend most of my day ssh'd into servers. I have a series of aliases/functions/scripts that allow me to type p hostname from the terminal and execute GNU screen(1) on the remote side, using the following command: exec ssh hostname -t 'screen -RD'` I've only recently noticed that ssh -t does not get my custom $PATH. Here's some terminal output: adam@workstation:~:0$ sh server 'echo $PATH' /home/adam/bin:/usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin:/opt/git/bin:/opt/git/libexec/git-core adam@workstation:~:0$ ssh server -t 'echo $PATH' /usr/local/bin:/bin:/usr/bin Connection to uranus.plymouth.edu closed. My biggest problem is my custom aliases only try to execute screen, since I can't guarantee an absolute path, and my $PATH is structured so the shell should find the correct one. If my $PATH settings aren't honored, my scripts don't work. Is there a way I can use $PATH as defined by my .bashrc/.bash_profile? I believe PermitUserEnvironment is disabled.

  • Why would a FaceBook application "work" on a profile, but not a page?

    I made a FaceBook application that works fine on profiles, but I can't figure out how to get it to show on a FaceBook page. For example, after I visit the application canvas URL, allow the application, then edit application settings and "add" to box and tab view... I cannot click the "plus" symbol to the left of the tabs in order to add a tab for the application. It does not appear in the list of available applications. Meanwhile, the application is working/showing up on profiles with no issues. I DID check the "Installable to Pages" checkbox on the application (authentication tab) settings. What could cause this? When the submit image is pressed, the URL changes to the PHP file, but it displays a blank page.   • Where do Client-only rules execute on a single profile with multiple Outlooks open?

    I have two outlooks 2007 open on two different machines logged in to the same account. The issue is I have is with client-only rules for sound alerts executing intermittently. All other rules work correctly, because they are run on the Exchange Server, but the client-only ones seem to pick and choose when to produce sounds. Is there something I can do to make my client-only rules run reliably on one particular instance of outlook?

  • How to restrict access to a specific wireless network to only 1 user profile in Windows 7.

    Hi all, I'm using Win7 SP1. I've got multiple users on the laptop that can / must connect to a wireless network, lets call it Wireless1. I've got an second wireless network, (lets call it Wireless2), which I want to limit access to only the admin user of the laptop. Now I can remove Wireless2 in the network manager every time, but i want a more user friendly solution, so that only the admin can connect to Wireless2, and all the other users cannot ( they may see the network, but must enter the password, like all other networks ). Any ideas?

    Exchange 2010, one-server installation (small production, I know not best practice) OWA Connectivity has been confirmed, Autodiscover is configured and working properly for EVERY other installation. Other user accounts tested on problem Outlook, none can connect. Windows Firewall is pre-configured by Group Policy, only modifications being related to remote management. Firewall has also been disabled during diagnostic period. Network discovery and file sharing is enabled on workstation as well. Windows 7 Professional, latest updates installed. Driving me nuts. Help, serverfault?

  • I killed my VPS with putting Firefox to reload the page after 1 second, now one of my domains is dead and gives a 504

    I have one domain on my VPS which I wanted to run a script a few hundred times on to simulate users, so I put a few Firefox tab on refresh every 1 second. Now that domain is dead, it just gives me a 504 every time I try to go to it, even though I restarted NGINX, PHP and I even shut the server on and off. All of my other sites on that VPS are Ok and running perfectly, just this one where I tried the reloading on. What can I do from here?

    Edit: OK. I've found the OST with the tasks in it, but I am unable to import an OST into outlook, it appears it needs to be converted to PST first. Is there anyone who knows a free OST - PST converter or some way to import OSTs directly into outlook? I am using outlook 2007 linked to an MSN email account through outlook connector. I recently added [email protected] (Fake address) to my outlook and deleted [email protected]. I thought my tasks were locally stored seperately from the email address, but it turns out when I deleted [email protected], I also lost all of my tasks. This is catastrophic. Is there any way to recover them? They're not stored on the MSN web account. I figure they must still be somewhere on my computer. I just don't know where to look or how to look there. Thank you.

    Running XNA app, using Reach profile, in VMWare Fusion host OS Mac OSX, VM is Windows XP SP 3 (my dual-boot OS). Running on MacBook Pro w/NVidia 320M graphics card When I am booted in to XP natively, my code works. The code is drawing cubes that are set up using vertex buffers When another friend runs this same code on Windows 7, it also works for him just fine When I am running my code in the VM, it doesn't work. I have billboarding sprites running in a shader program and this part displays fine. I get no crashing or errors, the geometry just doesn't appear. I tried Debug and Release. This is very basic operation so I'm thinking VMWare isn't the problem, but it's my code....     In my application, an authorized user will Register a new customer and set their username and password, etc. The customer will not be registering them self.     Let me start with the things that I did and how am I using some things to get results I have set up modular structure as: application/ /configs /layouts /models /modules /users /profile /frontend /backend /controllers /views .... I write a plugin that does addes changes with FrontController-setModuleControllerDirectoryName() FrontController-addModuleDirectory() and It is all good I have a changed all the directories according weather admin page is requested in the url or not (it is some thing like /admin/some/some) Let's say I have a single layout for anything that is related to Profile viewing , in this case the "Profile" module. The Profile layout is divided into three parts In the layout I was pulling out the Profile/PhotoController 's index action with a action() $this->action('index', 'photo', 'profile'); Then I have faced few issues 1. Can get passed Params inside the Photo Controller when calling ( profile/profile/index); 2. found out that helper Action() is evil cause it starts another dispatching loop =) --- and now I am thinking that my approach on plugging in controllers modules into layout also evil =). anyhow how Should I deal with plugging in some controllers (another module controllers) into the layout ?

    Hello, I am using Ctools Dependency to make a fieldset hideable. This is part of my code: $form['profile-status'] = array( '#type' => 'radios', '#title' => '', '#options' => array( 'new' => t('Create a new profile.'), 'select' => t('Use an existing profile.'), ), ); $form['select'] = array( '#type' => 'select', '#title' => t('Select a profile'), '#options' => $options, '#process' => array('ctools_dependent_process'), '#dependency' => array('radio:profile-status' => array('select')), ); $form['profile-properties'] = array( '#type' => 'fieldset', '#title' => t('View the profile'), '#process' => array('ctools_dependent_process'), '#dependency' => array('radio:profile-status' => array('select')), '#input' => true, ); In snippet above, There are two elements, one select and one fieldset. Both have #process and #dependency parameters and both point to one field for dependent value. Problem is elements like select or textfield can be hidden easily but it does not work for fieldset. In this support request page, CTools creator has mentioned that '#input' = true is a work around. As you see I added it to code, but it does not work as well. Do you have any suggestion?

  • How do I get the "Install Missing Plugin" yellow bar to appear in firefox when flash is not installe

    My rails website uses the open_flash_graph plugin to generate flash graphs for my clients. If a customer doesn't have flash installed, it doesn't display any messages, it simply doesn't show any graphs. I've noticed that if I go to other websites that need flash, I get a yellow bar at the top of my firefox window that offers to "Install Missing Plugin". I assume something in the HTML lets firefox know that this webpage needs flash. What code do I need to add to my website to make this work?
