  • How to troubleshoot Linksys E4200 Remote Management

    My Linksys E4200 is configured for Remote Management, but the router is not accepting the connections. Here's the configuration under Administration Management Remote Management Access: Remote Management: Enabled Access via: HTTP Remote Upgrade: Disabled Allowed Remote IP Address: Any IP Address Remote Management Port: 8080 The router is setup to use 192.168.10.41 as its static Internet IP address, and 192.168.35.1 as its LAN IP address. I can access the router just fine via its LAN IP address, but I can't make a connection using http://192.168.10.41:8080. I've tried variations of the settings above (enabled HTTPS, enabled Remote Upgrade, set an IP range of 192.168.10.1-254) but nothing has worked yet. Hoping someone can at least point me in the right direction. Thanks. Update: To clarify, I have a wired router that connects straight to the T1 modem. It's configured to use 192.168.10.1-254 as its internal LAN range. The E4200 wireless router in question is on that LAN using 192.168.10.41 as its WAN IP address. The E4200's internal LAN range is 192.168.35.1-254. I'm not trying to access the E4200 from the Internet, I'm just trying to access it from its WAN IP address. Thanks.

  • Exchange 2010 UR3 - customizing OWA logon page

    I have an Exchange 2010 UR3 deployment that I need to customize the OWA logon page for. I've created a new LGNTOPL.GIF file to replace the existing one in the folder: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.158.1\themes\resources” When I bring up OWA, I still get the original “Outlook Web App” logo. I’ve searched and found a couple of other instances of LGNTOPL.GIF in the directories: “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.123.3\themes\resources” “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\14.3.146.0\themes\resources” “C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\Current\themes\resources” I’ve replaced the LGNTOPL.GIF file in each of the above directories but got the same results. I’ve tried clearing my browser cache and even using multiple browsers from multiple PC’s but the same results. I’ve even tried making my GIF file the same pixel size as the original LGNTOPL.GIF logo but still the same results. I’ve tried restarting IIS on the CAS server and restarting the server but same results. Has something changed with Exchange 2010 UR3 when trying to customize OWA? I don't see anything documented about any change to OWA customization. Thanks

  • Rhythmbox - access Windows 7 Media Streaming

    I wish to be able to see and stream music to my Ubuntu 10.04 installation through Rhythmbox. I have enabled media streaming in Windows 7 and I can see Rhythmbox as an allowed device. I have installed the Coherence plugin for Rhythmbox. I can see my Windows 7 PC under the Shared folder in Rhythmbox, but I do not see any of my music. Is there a step along the way that I missed or something else that I have to enable?

  • Access Control Service: Walkthrough Videos of Web Application, SOAP, REST and Silverlight Integration

    Over the weekend I worked a little more on my ACS2 sample. Instead of writing it all down, I decided to quickly record four short videos that cover the relevant features and code. Have fun ;) Part 1 – Overview This video does a quick walkthrough of the solution and shows the web application part. This includes driving the sign in UI via JavaScript (thanks Matias) as well as the registration logic I wrote about here. watch Part 2 – SOAP Service and Client The sample app also exposes a WCF SOAP service. This video shows how to wire up the service to ACS and hows how to create a client that first requests a token from an IdP and then sends this token to ACS. watch Part 3 – REST Service and Client This part shows how to set up a WCF REST service that consumes SWT tokens from ACS. Unfortunately there is currently no standard WIF plumbing for REST. For the service integration I had to combine a lot of code from different sources (kzu, zulfiq) as well as the WIF SDK and OAuth CTPs together. But it is working. watch Part 4 – Silverlight and Web Identity Integration This part took by far the most time to write. The Silverlight Client shows ho to sign in to the application using a registered identity provider (including web identities) and using the resulting SWT token to call our REST service.   • Microsoft XNA code sample wont work with blender model

    I downloaded this code sample and integrated it into my game http://xbox.create.msdn.com/en-US/education/catalog/sample/mesh_instancing It works with the model that they supplied, but throws and exception whenever I use one of my models. The current vertex declaration does not include all the elements required by the current vertex shader. TextureCoordinate0 is missing. I tried pluging my model into their original source code and same thing. My model is an fbx from blender and has a texture. This is the function that throws the error GraphicsDevice.DrawInstancedPrimitives( PrimitiveType.TriangleList, 0, 0, meshPart.NumVertices, meshPart.StartIndex, meshPart.PrimitiveCount, instances.Length );

  • Less daunting front end for SQL Server

    We currently have a few users who have been using Access very succesfully to throw around large amounts of data. We've now got to the point where the data is just too large to be held in Access, as well as wanting to hold it in a single place where multiple users can access it. We have therefore moved the data over to SQL Server. I want to provide a general tool that they can use to view the data on the server and do some simple things like run queries and filters and export the data for offline manipulation. I don't want the support headaches that might come with rolling out SQL Management Studio, and neither do I want to have to create an Access database with links for each current database or ones that are created in the future. Can anyone recommend a simple tool that will connect to a server, list all the databases and allow a user to drill into a table and look at the data. Many thanks.
