  My system has an atom N270 + intel i915 graphic card. Under Windows I can enjoy 720p bigbuckbunny youtube video fullscreen without any trouble. Under Ubuntu 12.04 I have laggy and choppy fullscreen video and choppy video when not fullscreen. I've seen that under ubuntu the cpu is almost always at 100% use. What I must do in order to have videos playing well under ubuntu ? • Grub hangs at "Starting up ..." when USB flash card reader is plugged in (on Ubuntu Hardy)

  I have a PC with Ubuntu Hardy installed. The machine boots fine unless my USB flash card reader (one of those N-in-1 readers by MediaGear) is plugged in at startup. If the reader is plugged in, the boot process proceeds as normal until it gets to the screen that says "Starting up ...". At that point it just hangs forever. To work around this I currently leave the reader unplugged when booting, and then plug it back in after I see that Ubuntu is actually starting. This is annoying though, especially when I reboot the machine (typically for updates), forget to unplug the reader, and walk away only to come back hours later to find the machine hung. My guess is that the presence of the reader is confusing Grub about where to find the kernel. The weird thing is that Grub is on the same drive as the kernel I want it to boot so clearly the drive is still readable even when the flash card reader is plugged in. Is there some way I can tell Grub to never go looking on the flash card reader?

  I have a partition that I need standard users (not administrators)to have read/write access to. However, this partition does not even appear to them as it does to me as an administrator. How can I make it so that standard users can read/write to this partition? It would be nice if they could have the ability to mount it if needed. I have the same problem with removable media - if I have a flash card in the computer, the standard users cannot see this storage media.

It doesn't happen in Chrome for iOS6... Update: I just removed all img and from my testing site, but it still happens. This seems to happen with a lot of different websites out there. Is it a bug with their code, or a Safari for iOS bug? Others are completely immune to it...

  Hello, I'm developing a Adobe AIR application using Flash Builder 4. This app needs to access a remote PHP service which is being hosted on a remote web server. I am having troubles figuring out how to add a PHP data service which uses a remote service. I can add the PHP data service in Flash Builder as a service hosted on localhost, but given that this will not be feasible when the application is deployed, will not work.   Long story short, I'm developing a theme template for a blog that enables you to view the posts in blocks. The main part of the post is displayed at first, then the secondary content is displayed over that when you hover over the post block. Everything works fine on a Mac Versions of all major browsers, but start browsing on a PC, and all hell breaks loose when you start trying to display content over Flash Video embeds. The flash element remains visible over the content. It's completely unusable.   I'm thinking of changing to a new laptop that only comes with a 256gb SSD. It's not tons of room, but not inadequate either. One thing I have on my HD at the moment that takes up a lot of room but is rarely used is a partition with a bootable version of Windows 7 (I'm on a mac). Would it be possible to install a bootable copy of Windows 7 onto a flash drive? I was thinking of using a 64gb Sandisk Cruzer USB 2.0, so that when I need to dip into Windows every now and again I could just plug in the flash drive.

Also, my computer kept giving me error messages that it could no longer sync to my Ipod Touch First Generation. I reformatted my Ipod back to original factory specs on the old computer. I have a new computer with Windows 7. I can't transfer my music from my flash drive to the ITunes Library. I also can't transfer it to my Ipod. I keep getting the message "Songs cannot be added to the Ipod because all of its space has been reserved for data." There's nothing in the Ipod memory. It's clear. What can I do? For example, I have a windows 7 computer with 2 partitions c and d, then connect that computer to another computer or a smart TV using a USB cable (has to be male to male USB cable) then the other computer or TV recognizes the current computer as a usb device. Is that possible, if not is there any usb switch to connect an external hard drive or flash drive to both the computer and TV without the need to manually switch them (I know about some USB switches but they only support automatic switching with some certain types of printers, not with mass storage) Thanks in advanced! The main FLA is called HelloWorld. I have a symbol called "Box" in HelloWorld. I just would like to add an instance of the "Box" on the stage. Most people say that using Flash is the only option since most browsers don't allow access to the system clipboard because of security concerns. I can understand this but I wonder why it is okay for Flash do this, but not for the browser. Or has it got nothing to do with security and it is simply to complicated to implement this for cross-platform browser vendors?

It can't count the time from the Date class because the Flash Player takes the time from the local computer, and the user can change the local time so the time reported would be fake.   Hello, sIFR 3 is behaving strangely in Firefox. The actual sIFR flash element is set within a box that is 412px wide. In IE, Chrome, Safari, etc., the with of the Flash element is a consistent 412px; however, in Firefox, the Flash element is briefly as wide as the Body element, before correcting itself. When the page finishes loading, sometimes the Flash element remains that wide, breaking the layout (the Flash text flows underneath the sidebar to the right). Setting a width in the CSS for the .sIFR-flash element causes it to remain the proper 412px wide, but the text doesn't wrap at all--it just cuts off at the right edge, and the height of the flash element remains one line high. The markup is simple; it's just an h2 within a div. My sIFR code: var clerkenwell = { src: '/flash/sifr.swf' }; sIFR.activate(clerkenwell); sIFR.replace(clerkenwell, { selector: '.post h2', css: '.sIFR-root { color: #1899c4; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:30px; }', transparent: 'true', }); Setting forceWidth: 'true', just causes the same problem as using a CSS width on the .sIFR-flash element. So: how can I get the sIFR text to remain as wide as its containing element while allowing for line breaks in Firefox? Thanks for any and all help!
