  • I get a 502 bad gateway ONLY with a specific combination of domain/root folders - NGINX

    I have a VPS running NGINX and virtual hosts, with a configuration such as this: Domains directing to it: lolpics.no smscloud.no idmag.no Root folders: /home/vds/www/lolpics /home/vds/www/smscloud /home/vds/www/idmag SMSCloud.no is the site that keeps getting 502 errors, but if I make the domain direct to any of the other folders, the site works, or if I make any other domain name direct to the /home/vds/www/smscloud folder, it works. Only smscloud.no with /home/vds/www/smscloud breaks I tried putting this between the http{} in my nginx.conf and no help: proxy_buffer_size 128k; proxy_buffers 4 256k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 256k; EDIT: Well, that was slightly silly, if anyone from Google stumbles on this, here's how I fixed it, I just added this to the http{}: fastcgi_buffer_size 16k; fastcgi_buffers 16 16k; So that the start of my http block is: http { include /etc/nginx/mime.types; proxy_buffer_size 128k; proxy_buffers 4 256k; proxy_busy_buffers_size 256k; fastcgi_buffer_size 16k; fastcgi_buffers 16 16k;

  • Wrong DNS for just one site on development machine

    www.superyoink.de is my clients' website. I can access it from any machine except my development one. If I ping it on my development machine, I get 80.67.28.107 - this is wrong. My laptop, next to me, is able to resolve it correctly. I have tried putting correct address into hosts like so: 93.187.232.191 www.superyoink.de Still resolves to wrong address. I can enter bogus DNS server addresses so nothing works. But www.superyoink.de still resolves to 80.67.28.107. Rebooted, did ipconfig /flushdns nothing seems to work. I run 32 bit Vista. My impression is that it has stored the wrong dns resolution somewhere and is not even trying the DNS servers. But where? Help please!

(The point of this question is not to suggest that ICANN or it's members are not be trusted, but to figure out how DNSSEC affects the power they could exercise in theory.) For example: ICANN owns the root zone The .de zone is delegated to DENIC, Germany. Assume example.de is delegated to some 3rd party. Now, assuming DENIC does not remove example.de from their zone, would it be possible for them to redirect the subdomain abc.example.de elsewhere by returning signed records from the .de servers for abc.example.de ? Similarly, would it be possible for the DNS root to easily return signed fake records of a third-level domain xy.z while the second-level zone z is not participating in this and is not affected otherwise?

  • I killed my VPS with putting Firefox to reload the page after 1 second, now one of my domains is dead and gives a 504

    I have one domain on my VPS which I wanted to run a script a few hundred times on to simulate users, so I put a few Firefox tab on refresh every 1 second. Now that domain is dead, it just gives me a 504 every time I try to go to it, even though I restarted NGINX, PHP and I even shut the server on and off. All of my other sites on that VPS are Ok and running perfectly, just this one where I tried the reloading on. What can I do from here?

In /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-2.0/gtkrc I've changed: GtkScrollbar::slider-width = 23 GtkScrollbar::min-slider-length = 51 and added: GtkScrollbar::has-backward-stepper = 0 GtkScrollbar::has-forward-stepper = 0 In /usr/share/themes/Ambiance/gtk-3.0/gtk-widgets.css I've changed: GtkScrollbar-min-slider-length: 51; GtkRange-slider-width: 23; (in .scrollbar item) Now my scrollbars are usable with fingers, but they seem different for gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 apps.     Translated I installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from the LiveCD, after finalizing the installation process and booting correctly, I applied the pending updates, which asked me to reboot. After rebooting, an error appeared saying "Out of Range". I pressed CTRL+ALT+F1, login to the tty1 terminal and edit the xorg.conf file and add VertRefresh 50.0 - 60.0 to it, which would solve the "Out of Range" problem that was mentioned before. After applying the changed and rebooting again, the following boot screen is all I see now: It freezes there. I even waited 2 hours and nothing happened. Can anybody help? Thank you! Original Instale Ubuntu 12.04 LTS desde el Live CD, al finalizar la instalación inicio el sistema operativo e inicia correctamente, después de aplicar actualizaciones me solicita reiniciar en lo cual acepto. Al volver a iniciar me daba un erro de "Fuera de rango", aprieto CTRL + ALT + F1, me logueo y edito el archivo xorg.conf en la sección Screen y agrego "VertRefresh 50.0 - 60.0", lo cual solucionaría el problema de "Fuera de rango", al aplicar los cambios, vuelvo a iniciar y solamente me aparece la pantalla de inicio (Véase imagen: http://t.bb/fH) y queda colgado, lo deje por lo menos 2 horas así y nada sucedió. ¿Alguien puede ayudarme?     I have a question that's been bugging me since a long time. A friend of mine told me that when he had Ubuntu 11.10 installed the OS only recognized 3.4GB instead of 8GB. In the next week I'll be buying a new computer and I'll have 8GB of RAM, does the Video Card need to have it's own video memory for the OS to recognize the RAM entirely?.     We've got a website which has been running for a few years now. One of our customers has just started having an intermittent problem. Looking at our iis6.0 logs the service works correctly when they have a user agent beginning "mozilla/4.0+" but fails when the user agent begins "mozilla/5.0+". The particular customer only started having this problem on Wednesday. Does anyone know the browser/upgrade which changes the 4.0 to 5.0? The actual problem caused is that an "&" in a url parameter list is being encoded as "&amp;". Anyone seen anything similar? We have other users sending from browsers with the 5.0+ user agent without trouble. Sorry about the tags but don't have the rep to create new ones.   • Injection with google guice does not work anymore after obfuscation with proguard

    Has anyone ever tried to combine the use of google guice with obfuscation (in particular proguard)? The obfuscated version of my code does not work with google guice as guice complains about missing type parameters. This information seems to be erased by the transformation step that proguard does, even when the relevant classes are excluded from the obfuscation.
