  • Will the Order of my Associative Array be maintained from PHP to Javascript?

    In PHP I'm running a mysql_query that has an ORDER BY clause. I'm then iterating through the results to build an associative array, with the row_id as the key. Then, I'm calling json_encode on that array and outputting the result. This page is loaded with AJAX, and defined in a Javascript variable. When I iterate through that Javascript variable, will I still have the order that was returned from the mysql_query?

  • How to combine a list of choices to determine which select statement

    I have a mysql db and am using php 5.2 What I am trying to do is offer a list of options for a person to select (only 1). The chosen option will cause a select, update, or delete statement to be ran. The results of the statement do not need to be shown, although, showing the old and then the new would be nice (no problems with that part tho'.). Pseudo-Code: Assign $choice = 0 Check the value of $choice // This way, if it = 100, we do a break Select a Choice:<br> 1. Adjust Status Value (+60) // $choice = 1<br> 2. Show all Ships <br> // $choice = 2 3. Show Ships in Port <br> // $choice = 3 ... 0. $choice="100" // if the value =100, quit this part Use either case (switch) or if/else statements to run the users choice1 If the choice is 1, then run the "Select" statement with the variable of $sql1 -- "SELECT .... If the choice is 2, then run the "Select" statement with the variable of $sql2 --- SELECT * FROM Ships If the choice is 3, then run the "Select" statement with the variable of $sql3 <br> .... If the choice is 0, then we are done. I figured the (3) statements would be assigned in php as: $sql1="...". $sql2="SELECT * FROM Ships" $sql3="SELECT * FROM Ships WHERE nPort="1" My idea was to use the switch statement, but got lost on it. :( I would like the options to be available over and over again, until a variable ($choice) is selected. In which case, this particular page is done and goes back to the "Main Menu"? The coding and display, if I use it, I can do. Just not sure how to write the way to select which one I want. It is possible that I would run all of the queries, and other times, only one, so that is why I would like the choice. An area I get confused in is the proper forms to use such as -- ' ' " " and ...?? Not sure the # of options I will end up with, but it will be more than 5 but less than 20 / page. So if I get the system down for 2-3 choices, I can replicate it for as many as I may need. And, as always, if a better way exists, I am willing to try it. Thanks again... Larry

  • Is there a way to prevent an ASP.Net webapp from clearing out page variables on VB side?

    I have a webapp in ASP.Net with a VB codebehind. I need a List variable I have declared to persist as long as the person is on the page, but currently any time a control posts back to the code, everything is cleared out. I am completely new to ASP.net, so I have no idea if this is even possible. Can it be done with a Session variable? Those seem to me to be limited to base types, but I could be wrong.

An interpreter is dened in Wikipedia as a computer program that executes, i.e. performs, instructions written in a programming language. The interpreter should be able to evaluate functions written in a special notation, which you will dene. A function is dened by: Function name Input Parameters : dened as a list of variables. The body of the function. The body of the function can be any of the following statements: a) Variable: The function may return any of the input variables. b) Arithmetic Expressions: The arithmetic expressions include input variables and addition, sub- traction, multiplication, division and modulus operations on arithmetic expressions. c) Boolean Expressions: The Boolean expressions include the ordering of arithmetic expressions (applying the relationships: <, =<, , = or =) and the anding, oring and negation of Boolean expressions. d) If-then-else statements: where the if keyword is followed by a Boolean expression. The then and else parts may be followed by any of the statements described here. e) Guarded expressions: where each case consists of a boolean expression and any of the statements described here. The expression consists of any number of cases. The rst case whose condition is true, its body should be evaluated. The guarded expression has to terminate with an otherwise case. f) Function calls: the body of the function may have a call to another function. Note that all inputs passed to the function will be of type Int. The output of the function can be of type Int or Bool. To implement the interpreter, you are required to implement the following: a) Dene a datatype for the following expressions: Variables Arithmetic expressions Boolean expressions If-then-else statements Guarded expressions Functions b) Implement the function eval which evaluates a function. It takes 3 inputs: The name of a function to be evaluated represented as a string. A list of inputs to that function. The arguments will always be of datatype Int. A list of functions. Each function is represented as instance of the datatype that you have created for functions. c) Implement the function get_type that returns the type of the function (as a string).     Is there some cool Moria like theme for Visual Studio 2010? Mine is highlighting gray font with gray background! I just can't configure it on Tools-Options-Environment-Fonts and Colors menu. Visual Studio doesn't seem to show an item for this "highlighting keyword/tag system". You select a variable on variable called myVar, and it highlights all with the same name but with a grayer color and gray background. I just can't read it and can't set it.

    What is the easiest way to duplicate an image variable in PHP. Normally you can simply do $varnew = $varold. But with a GD library variable if I did the above and then edited $varnew then $varold would be effected too. Obviously one way would be to reopen the file or to make a new image and copy it into it. I want to do the equivalent of: int a=3; int b=a; To make this concrete, I have a variable defining the date: !define clock.date {2/2/2009} I then want to define some other variable ${other.date} based on it, something like: !define other.date {=${clock.date}=} However, this doesn't work. Is there any way to do this?

I have an application which loads a physicial XML document via the following method: jQuery.ajax( { type: "GET", url: fileName, dataType: "xml", success: function(data) { etc... I parse the XML and convert it into a string which is saved into a variable so that it can easily be stored in a database. How can I now convert the data in this variable back into an XML object so that it can be parsed as such?

  • Axis2 Web Service Client Generation - Types without modifying the client

    Is it possible with Axis2 and Eclipse to generate a Web Service client and have it use java types that you already have in packages instead of creating it's own types. Reason being of course if I have type A already created and it creates it's own Type A I can't just assign variable of type A to variable of type B. The wsdl is being generated from a Web Service deployed to an application server. If it's not possible to generate it from that would it be possible to generate a client from the already existing java files.
