  • HTML5 applicationCache in local development

    I'm experimenting with application cache based on this example: http://html5demos.com/html5demo.manifest This example works fine in ff, but when I create analogous site (almost identical) I get only status "UNCACHED (numeric value 0) -- The ApplicationCache object's cache host is not associated with an application cache at this time." I work on xampp and I've set correct mime-type. When the page is loading ff "is asking to store data on your computer for offline use" and when I show Tools - Options - Advanced - Network - Offline data there is localhost but with 0B size.

  • Visualization in "VisIt"

    Hi, Did any one over here work in "VisIt" visualization software? I have a dataset where the x, y, z coordinates are stored in separate bin files, i don't know how to visualize these files in VisIt, which would be the best file format to use. Till now, we were using Advanced Visual System (AVS) .fld files to read the data in AVS, now we have to switch to VisIt, don't know how to do it. Would appreciate if anyone can give some pointers in this direction.

  • Configuration file for PHP server script

    Right now I have a very high volume of requests coming to my webserver which execute a PHP CGI script. Every one of these scripts opens up a config file that I have created to load options of how the script should run. Doing a file I/O operation everytime a request comes in seems very resource intensive to me. I'm not too familiar with the advanced features of PHP, are there any alternatives to achieve what I'm doing?

    This is my JavaScript code I use to create my cookie............ document.cookie = "Name=" + Name + ";expires=Friday, 31-Dec-2011 12:00:00 GMT; path/"; I create it in www.example.com/folder/file.html and it works. But I cant read the cookie from www.example.com/index.html or www.example.com/folder2/file2.html. What is wrong with my code? Thanks in advanced

  • Why is my site displaying differently In Firefox than in Safari?

    I manage a website called ShareDen.com (http://shareden.com/home) and it looks the right way in Mozilla Firefox and it's totally completely discombobulated in Safari. I Haven't tested it in other broswer's (still in process) however my guess is it looks horrible in IE 8. Could it be because I just added the CSS Sticky Footer to my site? The plugin adds the following menu: I want to remove several items from this menu and I would also like to add some button from it to a toolbar. The problem is that when I do customize I only get "advanced command placeholder" shortcut for the whole bunch. Like this: How do I access the internals of these commands menu?
