  I have big file with utf16le (BOM) encoding. Is it possible to convert it to usual UTF8 by python?   Hi, I'm pretty useless when it comes to math and I have a problem I need help with. This has nothing to do with schoolwork, it's in fact about alcatel and the ticketextractor. I have two values that needs to be calculated in a c# application according to a formula specified in their documentation: "The global callid is equal to: callid1 multiplied by 2 power 32 plus callid2" As I said I'm not big with maths so that statement says nothing to me. When I'm ready to push patches or whole new versions I'm currently copying the files individually, is there a program that can help me do this task?   Usually I just dump the database and reimport it with a new name. This is not an option for very big databases. Apparently RENAME {DATABASE | SCHEMA} db_name TO new_db_name; does bad things, exist only in a handful of versions, and is a bad idea overall. Oh, one more thing - this needs to work with InnoDB, which stores things very differently than MyISAM.
