    Hi! I have got model Team and I've got (i.e.) team = Team.first :offset => 20. Now I need to get number of position of my team in db table. I can do it in ruby: Team.all.index team #=> 20 But I am sure that I can write it on SQL and it will be less expensive for me with big tables.

    Hi, I'm pretty useless when it comes to math and I have a problem I need help with. This has nothing to do with schoolwork, it's in fact about alcatel and the ticketextractor. I have two values that needs to be calculated in a c# application according to a formula specified in their documentation: "The global callid is equal to: callid1 multiplied by 2 power 32 plus callid2" As I said I'm not big with maths so that statement says nothing to me. If anyone know how to calculate it i'd appreciate it! Thanks

    I'm deveoping a big project, I have the dev folder (connected to a specific subdomain) then the "real" folder, the live one. When I'm ready to push patches or whole new versions I'm currently copying the files individually, is there a program that can help me do this task?     When you are designing a JMS application, which use cases make you pick temporary queues over persistent queues? We use temporary queues for response messages. We're having some issues maintaining connections to the temp queues, though, so I am testing persistent response queues, instead. One clear disadvantage of persistent queues is that your application has to "know" about them beforehand. If that's not a big deal, though, are there use cases where temp queues are the obvious choice?
