  • What *collaborative* wireframing / UI mockup tools are out there?

    I'm looking for something that applies the collaboration focus (one location/URL, always up-to-date, multi-person online read/write access anywhere) of google docs / google spreadsheets to wireframing. Bonus points if, like Google Docs, it needs only a browser yet also works offline. More bonus points if it supports automatic revisions. Even more bonus points if you can hand out login-less 'invitation' URLs like Flickr does, instead of forcing people into signing up for accounts or using their home accounts. To start off, there's one called iPlotz, but it didn't enchant me -- ironically, mostly because of its akward UI, which can't hold a candle to omnigraffle (don't let that prevent you from giving it a try though). And no, paper prototyping, wonderful as it is, does not qualify: it does not combine being instantly globally shareable & editable very well :-)

I have an ajax-based search that should just trigger the search when actual characters are pressed like a-Z (upper and lowercase), numbers and maybe a questionmark, a dash(hyphen), and an exclamation mark. Also the spacebar should be enabled. Otherwise the ajax search would be triggered as well if the shift-, option, or control-key, is pressed. What's the easiest regex pattern to understand here? thank you for your help

  • Why doesn't IronRuby have the same tools that IronPython does?

    Hi, I've been using Ruby as my main scripting language for years but switched to .NET several years ago. I'd like to continue using Ruby (primarily for testing) BUT the toolset for IronRuby is really nonexistent. Why? In Python, meanwhile, there are project templates and full intellisense support. Why isn't there something like that for IronRuby? The only thing I've been able to find on it is "there are no plans for VS integration at this time." Why???

    Business Process Modeling Notation with version 2.0, an international standard formally approved by OMG, creates XML code that is generated when a person creates a process model in a process modeling tool...like Visio with ITP-Commerce BPM 2.0 add-in.   • Tools to convert option strict off code into option strict on?

    I have to take over a project written in vb.net, which more than 400k lines of code written in option strict off mode. I want to build it under option strict on first before I do anything else -- which maybe converting it into C#. I found there's thousands of lines of code raises compilation error, mostly are about implicit type casts. Is there any tool would help to make it compile under option strict on mode if I don't want to correct every single line manually?

  • Delphi 2010: how to stamp file version in *.pas and increment it on each save w/o CVS/SVN tools?

    Hello. How do I have in each *.pas file it's version, incrementing on each save in some comment line? I have plenty of files on three PCs and I need to have a possibility to quickly check their versions against each other. This problem is easily solved by some centralized version control, but some sources I have cannot be trusted to external servers and are kept on TrueCrypt volumes. May be some addon can do that for me? Something like changing $Version: to $Version: 121212 on each save, incrementing this value? May be there is another way also of solving this problem?

  • Why doesn't Default route work using Html.ActionLink in this case?

    I have a rather perculiar issue with routing. Coming back to routing after not having to worry about configuration for it for a year, I am using the default route and ignore route for resources: routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }); I have a RulesController with an action for Index and Lorem and a Index.aspx, Lorem.aspx in Views Rules directory. I have an ActionLink aimed at Rules/Index on the maseter page: <li><div><%: Html.ActionLink("linkText", "Index", "Rules")%></div></li> The link is being rendered as http://localhost:12345/Rules/ and am getting a 404. When I type Index into the URL the application routes it to the action. When I change the default route action from "Index" to "Lorem", the action link is being rendered as http://localhost:12345/Rules/Index adding the Index as it's no longer on the default route and the application routes to the Index action correctly. I have used Phil Haack's Routing Debugger, but entering the url http://localhost:12345/Rules/ is causing a 404 using that too. I think I've covered all of the rookie mistakes, relevant SO questions and basic RTFMs. I'm assuming that "Rules" isn't any sort of reserved word in routing. Other than updating the Routes and debuugging them, what can I look at?

    What open source (preferably gem-based) parser-generator options do I have in Ruby? I've used (flex&bison)|(lex&yacc) from C in the past, and I'm comfortable with BNF-style specifications. I've heard of treetop, but it looks a bit alien and verbose compared to yacc... Purpose: I want to convert my text markup language to a BNF and generate the parsing code.   • Scala newbie vproducer/consumer attempt running out of memory

    I am trying to create a producer/consumer type Scala app. The LoopControl just sends a message to the MessageReceiver continually. The MessageReceiver then delegates work to the MessageCreatorActor (whose work is to check a map for an object, and if not found create one and start it up). Each MessageActor created by this MessageCreatorActor is associated with an Id. Eventually this is where I want to do business logic. But I run out of memory after 15 minutes. Its finding the cached actors,but quickly runs out of memory. Any help is appreciated.     I am trying to set up a headless build for a big eclipse feature, containing other features and plugins. As some needed plugins are generated using GMF and EMF, the build workflow must be something like this: SVN Check-out Invoke Generation Run Tests Build all Publish update-site Over the last couple of weeks, i played around with PDE Headless Build and Buckminster. Anyhow i still got problems with both and can't decide on which i should spent my effort. So what would you prefer? What experience you made? Anybody out there who needed to set up a similiar workflow before? Thank you for all answers :)

    I want to discover wrong spelling of "FooBar" in sentence: "This is a 'FooBar' example where I should match different spelling of fooBar such as: foobar, FOOBAR or even fOoBaR but not foobarS!" In this sentence, I would like to match words (in order): fooBar, foobar, FOOBAR, fOoBaR and not: FooBar (correct spelling), foobarS (not the same word) Is there an existing solution using Perl Regular Expression?     So first of all I have such image (and ofcourse I have all points coordinates in 2d so I can regenerate lines and check where they cross each other) But hey, I have another Image of same lines (I know thay are same) and new coords of my points like on this image So... now Having points (coords) on first image, How can I determin plane rotation and Z depth on second image (asuming first one's center was in point (0,0,0) with no rotation)?

    Here is some example data: data = data.frame(series = c("1a", "1b", "1e"), reading = c(0.1, 0.4, 0.6)) > data series reading 1 1a 0.1 2 1b 0.4 3 1e 0.6 Which I can pull out selective single rows using subset: > subset (data, series == "1a") series reading 1 1a 0.1 And pull out multiple rows using a logical OR > subset (data, series == "1a" | series == "1e") series reading 1 1a 0.1 3 1e 0.6 But if I have a long list of series expressions, this gets really annoying to input, so I'd prefer to define them in a better way, something like this: series_you_want = c("1a", "1e") (although even this sucks a little) and be able to do something like this, subset (data, series == series_you_want) The above obviously fails, I'm just not sure what the best way to do this is?

    I'm looking for a tool or a script that will take the console log from my web app, parse out the garbage collection information and display it in a meaningful way. I'm starting up on a Sun Java 1.4.2 JVM with the following flags: -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails The log output looks like this: 54.736: [Full GC 54.737: [Tenured: 172798K->18092K(174784K), 2.3792658 secs] 257598K->18092K(259584K), [Perm : 20476K->20476K(20480K)], 2.4715398 secs] Making sense of a few hundred of these kinds of log entries would be much easier if I had a tool that would visually graph garbage collection trends.
