  • Silverlight client never calls WCF Service

    Hi all, This one has me completed stumped. I have developed a silverlight application that calls back to WCF services ( it's a silverlight - basicHttpBinding) The site works perfectly fine from my development machine, but when it is deployed to the developement server. The application is delivered with the XAP just fine, but it never attempts to talk to the service. I have a service call in the bootstrapper so it should be calling this when the client starts up. The services are healthy. They can be browsed to and show the standard WCF service display. We have been through the bindings many times and everything seems to be ok. I have added an extensive amount of error handling for displaying any errors, but on this dev server, no service calls and no errors are being raised. Fiddler shows the page being loaded up, but my client never issues a call to the service. The service is in the same folder as the default.aspx which hosts the Silverlight client. This is a Silverlight 3.0 app. Anybody ever seen anything similar?

    From time to time,we suffer problems like we can not remote connect to our server via ssh.So we have to send someone on site to restart the computer for this problem.It causes a lot of pain.The situation is we have to remote connect to our server,which are very important like database server and application server and etc.We have met problems like ssh hang,like command ssh [email protected] with no response. when using ssh -v debug mode, it says : debug1: Connection established. debug1: identity file /.ssh/identity type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /.ssh/id_dsa type -1 debug1: loaded 3 keys and we met this situation many times with no clue how to solve it.Is any log which can identify this problem? or Is there a tool for this problem? help needed!any idea are appreciated.

The Data class , contains fileds with many types : int , string , double , Person object and array of Person object. I created the J2ME client code through the wizard and every thing seems ok . I see in the Netbeans project the service and the stub . When I try to call my web service method , say Data GetData() ; Then I have a problem with parsing the returned data from the web service and the client data object .   • Feasibility of using Silverlight for web and windows client with common code base for data intensive

    Hello. Recently in a conversation, someone suggested me to make use of Silverlight if I am targeting a web client and a windows client for the same application. This will cut down my effort for supporting the contrast in both presentation layers. Mine is a product, that will be deployed in enterprises. Both web and windows clients are desirable. With the above context, I have few queries: Is it advisable to adopt the recommended approach and whether this approach is becoming a trend? Besides, some configuration & deployment tweaking, will this significantly reduce effort on the presentation layer? Is there a possibility that my future prospects (for this product) will resist Silverlight footprint? Will I be able to make use of the ASP.Net MVC pattern? Will there be any performance implication for the web client? Will Silverlight support incremental load of controls? If my back-end includes SSRS, will I be able to harness all its front end features with Silverlight? Will I be able to support additional devices with same code base in future? Mine is a very data intensive application from both, data entry and reporting perspective. Is it advisable to use 3rd party controls (like Telerik) for improved user experience and developer productivity? Are their any professional quality open source Silverlight controls (library) available? Further, I seek information of best practices in the context I shared above.

  • CPU and profiling not supported for remote jvisualvm session

    When monitoring a remote app (using jstatd) I can neither profile nor monitor cpu consumption. Heap monitoring (provided I do not use G1) works. jvisualvm provides the message "Not supported for this JVM." in the CPU graph window. Is there anything missing in my setup? The google showed up next to no results.     I have an client app that runs on several machines, and connects to a single SQL database. On the client app, the user has the possiblity to use a local SQL (CE) database or connect to a remote SQL database. There is also a box where a backup location can be set. For the backup of the remote SQL database I use the following code: var bdi = new BackupDeviceItem(backupFile, DeviceType.File); var backup = new Backup { Database = "AppDb", Initialize = true }; backup.Devices.Add(bdi); var server = new Server(connection); backup.SqlBackup(server); When developing my application, I wasn't aware that the given backupFile is written on the machine where the SQL server runs! And not on the client machine. What I want is "dump" all the data from my database to a local file. (Why? Because users may enter a network location in the "backup location" box, and backing up SQL immediately to a network location fails. So need to write local first and then copy to the network in that case.) I there an alternative to the method above?

  • Connection details & timeouts in a java web service client

    Hello fellow Coders, I have to implement a webservice client to a given WSDL file. I used the SDK's 'wsimport' tool to create Java classes from the WSDL as well as a class that wrap's the webservice's only method (enhanceAddress(auth, param, address)) into a simple java method. So far, so good. The webservice is functional and returning results correcty. The code looks like this: try { EnhancedAddressList uniservResponse = getWebservicePort().enhanceAddress(m_auth, m_param, uniservAddress); //Where the Port^ is the HTTP Soap 1.2 Endpoint }catch (Throwable e) { throw new AddressValidationException("Error during uniserv webservice request.", e); } The Problem now: I need to get Information about the connection and any error that might occur in order to populate various JMX values (such as COUNT_READ_TIMEOUT, COUNT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT, ...) Unfortunately, the method does not officially throw any Exceptions, so in order to get details about a ConnectException, i need to use getCause() on the ClientTransportException that will be thrown. Even worse: I tried to test the read timeout value, but there is none. I changed the service's location in the wsdl file to post the request to a php script that simply waits forever and does not return. Guess what: The web service client does not time out but waits forever as well (I killed the app after 30+ minutes of waiting). That is not an option for my application as i eventually run out of tcp connections if some of them get 'stuck'. The enhanceAddress(auth, param, address) method is not implemented but annotated with javax.jws.* Annotations, meaning that i cannot see/change/inspect the code that is actually executed. Do i have any option but to throw the whole wsimport/javax.jsw-stuff away and implement my own soap client?

  • A device specific alpha bitmap fails after switching resolutions in remote desktop

    All my alpha bitmaps, created using CreateCompatibleBitmap(..), start to receive an error code 87 after someone signs in with Remote Desktop. I am assuming that this is because the resolution changed and I am using a device specific bitmap. I am wondering what the best route is to fix this issue without migrating to a device independent bitmap? Some options are: 1) Detect remote desktop change and flag all bitmaps to be reloaded (I have done this but it does not work as well as I would like). 2) Wait for error code 87 to happen on an alphablend image that previously worked, and then reload it (was going to try this next, im sure it will work, but a little hacky) 3) Detect random event such as WM_DISPLAYCHANGE or _ that tells me when I should do this (ie: a device change event I'm guessing, or maybe something more specific?) 4) _? Thanks for any help in advance

    When i connect to my machine using remote desktop the dropdown menus and comboboxes i used in my wpf application is not showing up. And after closing the session when i comes back to my development machine where actually my application runs there also the same issue happens after the remote desktop session. Tried by changing resolution and all sometimes it works but most of the time result is negative. The only temporary solution i found for this is just rebooting the system which is not applicable.     I really wasn't sure what the title for my question could be, so sorry if it's a bit vague. I'm working on an application that uses client application services for authentication/profile management etc. In web.config for my website, I have the following profile properties like this: <properties> <add name="FirstName" type="string" defaultValue="" customProviderData="FirstName;nvarchar"/> ... Basic things like first name, last name etc. I'm exposing properties for my client app like this: <system.web.extensions> <scripting> <webServices> <authenticationService enabled="true" requireSSL="false"/> <profileService enabled="true" readAccessProperties="UserProfile" writeAccessProperties="UserProfile"/> <roleService enabled="true"/> </webServices> </scripting> </system.web.extensions> What I'm wondering is whether it's possible to bundle all the individual profile properties into a single object for client apps to utilize? I originally had all my profile data stored as members of a single class (UserProfile) but I broke it all out so that I could use the SqlTableProfileProvider to store each field as individual columns in relevant tables. I know I can create an class with members for each type, I'm just not sure if there's an easy way to create an object with all my property values (other than assigning values to this object whenever I assign to the the standalone properties). I don't think I'm explaining this very well, so I'll try an example. Say in my website profile I have FirstName and LastName as properties. For my client application profileService I want to have one ReadAccessProperty FullName. Is there some way to automatically create FullName from the existing FirstName and LastName properties without having to also have a seperate FullName property (and manually assign data to it whenever I assign data to FirstName and LastName)?

    I have two sub-sites set up in configuration manager. When the SCCM agent installs on the client machines within the boundaries of those sub sites they are assigned the site code of the Primary site, not the sub site code. As a result their management server remains the main server not the sub site server. I am setting up thes sub sites on cross WAN locations to cut down on traffic. What could be preventing the clients from getting associated with the proper sub site code.

  • Extremely slow insert from Delphi to Remote MySQL Database

    Having a major hair-pulling issue with extremely slow inserts from Delphi 2010 to a remote MySQL 5.09 server. So far, I have tried: ADO using MySQL ODBC Driver Zeoslib v7 Alpha I have used batching and direct insert with ADO (using table access), and with Zeos I have used SQL insertion with a Query, then used Table direct mode and also cached updates Table mode using applyupdates and commit. Both technologies I have tried with compression on and off. So far I have seen a pretty much the same across the board 7.5 records per second!!! Now, I would from this point assume that the remote server is just slow, but the MySQL Workbench is amazingly fast, and the Migration toolkit managed the initial migration very quickly (to be honest, I don't recall how quickly - which kind of means that it was quick) I'm just about to try the MyDAC components as we already use SDAC (wish there was a multi-buy discount or that we'd chosen UniDAC instead now!) Any ideas?

When I try to add a branch tracking a remote using the command git checkout -b mybranch origin/mybranch The remote branch is tracking X directory, and hence this checkout fails with the error Untracked working tree file 'X' would be overwritten by merge. what is the way out ?
