  • Validate/accept only emails from a specific domain name

    - by user1632736
    This is part of my jQuery script. I need to make the system validate emails for a specific domain. like [email protected] And only allow emails from @schooldomain.com Code: email: function(value,element){return this.optional(element)||/^((([a-z]|\d|[!#\$%&'\*\+\-\/=\?\^_`{\|}~]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])+(\.([a-z]|\d|[!#\$%&'\*\+\-\/=\?\^_`{\|}~]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])+)*)|((\x22)((((\x20|\x09)*(\x0d\x0a))?(\x20|\x09)+)?(([\x01-\x08\x0b\x0c\x0e-\x1f\x7f]|\x21|[\x23-\x5b]|[\x5d-\x7e]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])|(\\([\x01-\x09\x0b\x0c\x0d-\x7f]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF]))))*(((\x20|\x09)*(\x0d\x0a))?(\x20|\x09)+)?(\x22)))@((([a-z]|\d|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])|(([a-z]|\d|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])([a-z]|\d|-|\.|_|~|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])*([a-z]|\d|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])))\.)+(([a-z]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])|(([a-z]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])([a-z]|\d|-|\.|_|~|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])*([a-z]|[\u00A0-\uD7FF\uF900-\uFDCF\uFDF0-\uFFEF])))\.?$/i.test(value);}

  • How To: Call a web service from ajax

    - by Kolten
I have a simple Web Service that send email and is called via: public bool SendMail(string format, string from, string to, string cc, string bcc, string subject, string body, string replyTo) I have never used ajax before, and find I need to call this service and pass form contents to it from a simple html page (I cannot use asp or asp.net unfortunately). Can I get a quick rundown of what is required? I have searched for simple examples, but find I am having difficulty understanding how to call it and pass the parameters required of the Web Service. Thanks all!

  • Is there a global inbox for android?

    - by Loony2nz
I'm a Blackberry fan and I have been aching to get a phone with a better UI (and not the jesusPhone). I was looking at the Android platform and find it quite fun to play with. However, one of the crucial elements of my BB that I love to death is the global inbox of all my email accounts. (not to mention the BB messenger, but I can live without that). Is there an addon or does the android have this feature natively? I played with my friend's Verizon Droid, and she couldn't tell me. Thanks!

  • How does one receive and post text messages on a website, a la Twitter?

    - by Jason
I've looked around at pretty much all the SMS posts here on SO and the best answer I've come up with so far is ZeepMobile. The only problem is, they're "in beta" and aren't readily accepting users. Is there a workaround for this, maybe receiving an email via text (kind of like how TwitPic does it?) somehow and parsing it? Basically all I want to do is have people text the site so that their message posts... I don't need to send any messages (actually I would prefer not to). Pretty much the same functionality as Twitter (same functionality, but no I'm not building a Twitter-esque service because I am not crazy). PS this will be a VB.NET ASP.NET 3.5 solution. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

  • Validate authenticity of website owner

    - by Cyber Junkie
Hello all! I'm planning to develop a web app where users will list their site/blog. When people submit their sites, how can I confirm that they are the owners of it? So for instance there is a user Mark who wants to submit someone else's website without their approval. I want to restrict Mark from doing so unless he is the actual owner. My idea was to do a comparison between the user's email domain and the website domain she/he wants to submit. If they match allow the user to submit the website. However most people don't register with their website domain address.. or perhaps I'll implement a Facebook connect in the future. What other methods would you suggest?

  • How to test my outgoing emails in MS Outlook?

    - by John
Some people are complaining my html emails are showing up as plain text with html mark ups and others are complaining about unusual characters like 0=D 3=D. They appear to be using MS Outlook. I just installed MS Outlook and configured the imap settings to work with my gmail account. All my emails appear fine. So I suspect I need my MS Outlook to work with an MS Exchange server in order to produce the results my other Outlook recipients are seeing. But I'm not sure how to get access to an MS Exchange server (assuming that is the case). Can anyone recommend how I can reproduce the same email environment as my recipients such that I can get the same bugs they get? Thanks

  • maintain formatting entered into an html form?

    - by NickG77
Im setting up a web form, and I'm trying to have it where visitors can paste their resumes into a text area. Then I want to email the info using php mail(). But the resume info is just stored in the variable as one long string with no formatting. Is there a way I can send the pasted resume text to the client in the resume format? Maintaining all the line breaks and stuff? He wants to avoid having people upload resumes.

  • How to send mail using PHP?

    - by phpaddict
I'm using Windows Vista OS. PHP, MySQL as the database and Apache web server. I want to send notification to those who want to join in my site. But the problem is when I click submit. It doesn't send anything to the email address of the user. What to do you think is the best solution for this? <?php $to = "[email protected]"; $subject = "Hi!"; $body = "Hi,\n\nHow are you?"; if (mail($to, $subject, $body)) { echo("<p>Message successfully sent!</p>"); } else { echo("<p>Message delivery failed...</p>"); } ?>

  • Suspension of Gmail account [closed]

    - by Ifeanyi Agu
I have a Joomla site with my gmail account (google apps) being used as the SMTP server for sending mails. I also have a newsletter component on this site. I tried sending newsletter to all my subscribers and I noticed that the SMTP server could not be connected to. I then checked the emails of my company and noticed that the one I used to set it up was suspended. I cannot really explain why Google suspended the email account. Please could anyone tell me if Google saw the mails that were being sent as spam.

  • [cli/linux] get plain text from raw emails (not attachments extraction)

    - by etuardu
Hi, having a raw email as input (i.e. the text between "DATA" and "." sent by a smtp client) I need to extract the mail content (which I know is always text only) as plain text. This means decoding transfer encoding (if any: could be base64 or quoted-printable), merging mutiparts (if any), and stripping headers. I tried various tools that would do that: mewdecode, uudecode, uudeview... I only managed to get this last one to work, but it won't output anything if the mail is not MIME encoded and it stores its output in an unpredictable (nor forceable) filename, so it's hard to use it in a not-interactive shell script. Since this is a pretty common job (every mail client have to do that), it's weird it's so complicated. Do you have some hints? (Actually, forcing uudeview to output in a certain file would be good enough). Thank you!

  • Registration form validation not validating

    - by jgray
I am a noob when it comes to web development. I am trying to validate a registration form and to me it looks right but it will not validate.. This is what i have so far and i am validating through a repository or database. • Send mass emails php (probably a shell question?)

    - by Rob
I've got 80,000 users on my site and i've recently turned away from the forum script i've been using and built something very simple myself that works just as well (the forum script was too bloated and resource intensive for my simple site) The only thing i've lost is the ability to mass email all my members. So i'm looking to come up with a script to do it myself. After looking around (including questions on here) I decided using Swift Mailer would be a good idea. However i've been through all the documentation and can't see how to send say "100 at a time" and i'm not sure how to go about it. To put it simply. I have an admin panel with a form with two inputs "subject" and "message". When I click submit what is the safest way for me to send 80,000 emails without crashing my server or being marked as spam? I'm on quite a beefy dedicated server so don't have the problems associated with shared servers. Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • .htaccess rules to rewrite URLs to front end page?

    - by Dizzley
I am adding a new application to my site at example.com/app. I want views at that URL to always open myapp.php. E.g. example.com/app -> example.com/app/myapp.php and example.com/app/ -> example.com/app/myapp.php What's the correct form of rewrite rules in the .htaccess file? I've got: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /app/ RewriteRule ^myapp\.php$ - [L] RewriteRule ^myapp.php$ - [L] RewriteRule . - [L] </IfModule> ...based on what the Wordpress front-end does. But all I see at example.com/app is a directory of files. :( (I put those rewrites at the top of my .htaccess file). Any ideas? Update What actually worked: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app(/.*)?$ [NC] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule . /app/myapp.php [L] This is good because: Explicit or implicit calls to app/myapp.php work. example.com/app redirects to app/myapp.php example.com/app/ redirects to app/myapp.php example.com/app/subfunction redirects to app/myapp.php All other calls to example.com/otherstuff are untouched. Item 4 is Wordpress-like Front Controller pattern behaviour. I think that rule RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app.*$ [NC] needs refining as it allows /app-oh-my-goodness etc. through too. Thanks for the answers.

To do this I use this fragment of code: XDocument XDoc = XDocument.Load(System.Web.HttpRuntime.AppDomainAppPath + this.filesource); XElement XRoot = XDoc.Root; //XElement XEl = XElement.Load(this.filesource); var results = from e in XRoot.Elements("contact") select new Contact((string)e.Element("name"), (string)e.Element("email"), "1-1-1", null, null); List<Contact> cntcts = new List<Contact>(); foreach (Contact cntct in results) { cntcts.Add(cntct); } Contact[] c = cntcts.ToArray(); // Encapsulating element Elements<Contact> final = new Elements<Contact>(c); Ok just don't mind that all: focus on this: When I get the root node, it is all right, I get it correctly. When I use the select directive I try to get every node saying: from e in XRoot.Elements("contact") OK here's the problem: if I use: from e in XRoot.Elements() I get all contact nodes, but if I use: from e in XRoot.Elements("contact") I GET NOTHING: Empty SET. OK you tell me: Use the other one: OK I DO SO, let's use: from e in XRoot.Elements(), I get all nodes anyway, THAT's RIGHT BUT HERE COMES THE OTHER PROBLEM: When Saying: select new Contact((string)e.Element("name"), (string)e.Element("email"), "1-1-1", null, null); I Try to access <name>, <email>... I HAVE TO USE .Element("name") AND IT DOES NOT WORK TOO!!!!!!!!WHAT THE HELL IS THIS????????????? IT SEEMS THAT I DOES NOT MATCH THE NAME I PASS But how is it possible. I know that Elements() function takes, overloaded, one argument that is an XName which is mapped onto a string. Please consider that the code I wrote come from an example, It should work. Please somebody help me. THANKS IN ADVANCE

  • Do i need to restore iptable rules everytime on boot?

    - by capdragon
Every time i reboot i loose the iptables rules that took me sooo long to enter. I know i can save them and restore them on boot but is there anyway to save them forever? Do i really need to restore them on boot every time? Seriously? The problem is I have a HUGE list of IPs in which i use a while loop to load them in. This can take upwards of 10 minutes. This is my home FTP server. It's a small vm with 1gb ram and very little processing power. There are so many IPs because I've pretty much given up on the Asian continent. I don't need them to be hitting up my ftp server everyday with brute force. I also block gov. monitors, trackers and spammers. This is the while loop i use to load in the list. grep INPUT block.list | while read LISTA; do sudo iptables -A $LISTA; done

  • What is an efficient algorithm for randomly assigning a pool of objects to a parent using specific rules

    - by maple_shaft
I need some expert answers to help me determine the most efficient algorithm in this scenario. Consider the following data structures: type B { A parent; } type A { set<B> children; integer minimumChildrenAllowed; integer maximumChildrenAllowed; } I have a situation where I need to fetch all the orphan children (there could be hundreds of thousands of these) and assign them RANDOMLY to A type parents based on the following rules. At the end of the job, there should be no orphans left At the end of the job, no object A should have less children than its predesignated minimum. At the end of the job, no object A should have more children than its predesignated maximum. If we run out of A objects then we should create a new A with default values for minimum and maximum and assign remaining orphans to these objects. The distribution of children should be as evenly distributed as possible. There may already be some children assigned to A before the job starts. I was toying with how to do this but I am afraid that I would just end up looping across the parents sorted from smallest to largest, and then grab an orphan for each parent. I was wondering if there is a more efficient way to handle this?

  • Apache2: 400 Bad Reqeust with Rewrite Rules, nothing in error log?

    - by neezer
This is driving me nuts. Background: I'm using the built-in Apache2 & PHP that comes with Mac OS X 10.6 I have a vhost setup as follows: NameVirtualHost *:81 <Directory "/Users/neezer/Sites/"> Options Indexes MultiViews AllowOverride None Order allow, deny Allow from all </Directory> <VirtualHost *:81> ServerName lobster.dev ServerAlias *.lobster.dev DocumentRoot /Users/neezer/Sites/lobster/www RewriteEngine On RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|resources|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] LogLevel debug ErrorLog /private/var/log/apache2/lobster_error </VirtualHost> This is in /private/etc/apache2/users/neezer.conf. My code in the lobster project is PHP with the CodeIgniter framework. Trying to load http://lobster.dev:81/ gives me: 400 Bad Request Normally, I'd go check my logs to see what caused it, yet my logs are empty! I looked in both /private/var/log/apache2/error_log and /private/var/log/apache2/lobster_error, and neither records ANY message relating to the 400. I have LogLevel set to debug in /private/etc/apache2/http.conf. Removing the rewrite rules gets rid of the error, but these same rules work on my MAMP host. I've double-checked and rewrite_module is loaded in my default Apache installation. My http.conf can be found here: https://gist.github.com/1057091 What gives? Let me know if you need any additional info. NOTE: I do NOT want to add the rewrite rules to .htaccess in the project directory (it's checked into a git repo and I don't want to touch it).

  • Javamail read multipart emails

    - by Hectai
    Hey! My code is below, and the problem is that some of the emails i get from my POP3 account cannot be read, but with a simple unix email client it can be. It would be very helpful if you can find me what the problem is, or give me some advices. ps.: yes, i have read the tutorials already. String[] messageText = new String[500]; Store store = session.getStore("pop3"); store.connect(host, username, password); Folder inbox = store.getFolder("INBOX"); inbox.open(Folder.READ_ONLY); Message[] messages = inbox.getMessages(); for(int i = 0; i < inbox.getMessageCount() ; i++) { Message m = messages[i]; Object o = m.getContent(); if (o instanceof String) messageText[i] = (String)o; else if(o instanceof Multipart) { Multipart mp = (Multipart)o; int count = mp.getCount(); for(int j = 0; j < count; j++) { BodyPart b = mp.getBodyPart(j); String disposition = b.getDisposition(); if (disposition != null && disposition.equals(BodyPart.ATTACHMENT))) { DataHandler handler = b.getDataHandler(); messageText[i] += "file name : " + handler.getName(); } else { messageText[i] += b.getContent(); } } } } store.close(); } catch(Exception ex) { notif("Failure - " + ex.getMessage()); }

  • sermyadmin 2.01

    - by lepricon123
I am able to install sermyadmin 2.0.1 and got everything working. Only user registration is not working. When I register a user the entry goe sin DB etc find but the email is not send to the user. We are using our own smtp server with no authentication. And I am sure there is nothing wrong with the smtp server. I can see that it has received a request from sermyadmin but in the logs Is ee that the FROM adddress is missing. So it is throwing 553 5.1.8 Domain of sender address does not exist. The domain does exist. Here is my resources.xml with all the valid entries. Since I don;t need the smtp authentication which the server is not using, i removed that. <beans xmlns="www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" www.springframework.org/schema/beans www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spr...ns-2.0.xsd"> <bean id="mailSender" class="org.springframework.mail.javamail.JavaMailSenderImpl"> <property name="host" value="10.100.22.365" /> </bean> <bean id="mailMessage" class="org.springframework.mail.SimpleMailMessage"> <property name="from" value="[email protected]" /> </bean> </beans>

  • ASP MVC: Sending an E-mail

    - by wh0emPah
Okay I'm kindoff new to the .NET platform. And currently i'm learning ASP MVC. I want to send an e-mail from my program and i have the following code: public void sendVerrificationEmail() { //create the mail message MailMessage mail = new MailMessage(); //set the addresses mail. From = new MailAddress("[email protected]"); mail.To.Add("[email protected]"); //set the content mail.Subject = "This is an email"; mail.Body = "this is a sample body with html in it. <b>This is bold</b> <font color=#336699>This is blue</font>"; mail.IsBodyHtml = true; //send the message SmtpClient smtp = new SmtpClient("127.0.0.1"); smtp.Send(mail); } Now when i execute this code i'll get the following exception: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.0.1:25 Now i'm very very new to the IIS manager & stuff. so there is probably something wrong there. Do i need to install a virtual smtp server or something?. • ASP.NET Emails blocked by Spam filter on Exchange

    - by Amadiere
I'm trying to send an email via some C# ASP.NET code. This is being sent to our internal mailrelay server, with our standard "from" address (e.g. [email protected]). In some instances, this is getting through OK, in others, it's getting blocked by the Spam Filter. An example of our Web.config <mailSettings> <smtp from="[email protected]"> <network host="mailrelay.domain.com" defaultCredentials="true" /> </smtp> </mailSettings> I've spoken with our Exchange Server team and they inform me that on occasions, our mail looks sufficiently like spam and is automatically blocked. The algorithm appears to be points based and blocks on a score of 45. 20 points are instantly added because our system is not sending the hostname with the domain name suffixed. e.g. the server is hoping for myServerName.domain.com, but despite being part of that domain, the server is sending from myServerName. I've been asked to look at altering the EHLO string that is sent and/or influencing the host so that it is its fully qualified name. However, this makes little sense to me, and although I understand the concept of what I need to change - I don't know where to begin looking for the fix.

  • How to search inbox using zend mail

    - by Bob Cavezza
The following is a function from zend_mail_protocol_imap. i read that to search emails, I would want to override it using zend_mail_storage_imap (which is what I'm using now to grab email from gmail). I copy and pasted the following function into zend_mail_storage_imap, but I'm having issues with the params. I can't find documentation on what to use for the array $params. I initially thought it was the search term before reading it more thoroughly. I'm out of ideas. Here's the function... /** * do a search request * * This method is currently marked as internal as the API might change and is not * safe if you don't take precautions. * * @internal * @return array message ids */ public function search(array $params) { $response = $this->requestAndResponse('SEARCH', $params); if (!$response) { return $response; } foreach ($response as $ids) { if ($ids[0] == 'SEARCH') { array_shift($ids); return $ids; } } return array(); } Initially I thought this would do the trick... $storage = new Zend_Mail_Storage_Imap($imap); $searchresults = $storage->search('search term'); But nope, I need to send the info in an array. Any ideas?

  • GMail appearing to ignore Reply-To.

    - by Samuurai
I'm using a gmail account to send emails from my website. I'm using the same account to pick up emails which are generated by the contact facility on my site. I'm using the Reply-To field to attempt to make it easier to hit reply and easily get back to people. The message comes up with the 'from' address and ignores the 'reply-to' address. • How can I use PHP Mail() function within PHP-FPM? On Nginx?

    - by TheBlackBenzKid
I have searched everywhere for this and I really want to resolve this. In the past I just end up using an SMTP service like SendGrid for PHP and a mailing plugin like SwiftMailer. However I want to use PHP. Basically my setup (I am new to server setup, and this is my personal setup following a tutorial) Nginx Rackspace Cloud PHP 5.3 PHP-FPM Ubuntu 11.04 My phpinfo() returns this about the Mail entries: mail.log no value mail.add_x_header On mail.force_extra_parameters no value sendmail_from no value sendmail_path /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i SMTP localhost smtp_port 25 Can someone help me to as why Mail() will not work - my script is working on all other sites, it is a normal mail command. Do I need to setup logs or enable some PHP port on the server? My Sample script <? # FORMS VARS // $to = $customers_email; // $to = $customers_email; $to = $_GET["customerEmailFromForm"]; $subject = "Thank you for contacting Real-Domain.com"; $message = " <html> <head> </head> <body> Thanks, your message was sent and our team will be in touch shortly. <img src='http://cdn.com/emails/thank_you.jpg' /> </body> </html> "; $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0" . "\r\n"; $headers .= "Content-type:text/html;charset=iso-8859-1" . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'From: <[email protected]>' . "\r\n"; // SEND MAIL mail($to,$subject,$message,$headers); ?> Thanks

  • Deliver large volume of automatic notification emails without being throttled

    - by jack
I think most website has certain needs to deliver emails to its users, e.g. account activation emails, private messsage notification, comment notification, etc. Take my site as example, among 5,000 registered users, about 1,500 signed up using gmail.com box, 1,000 using yahoo.com and another 1,000 using hotmail.com. Every now and then I receive complaints from users that they never receive account activation email, sometime it goes to junk folder sometimes it just not show in any folder. Maybe it's kind of being "throttled" when exceeded maximum number of messages sent from same ip address to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com during certain period of time? I'm using Postfix and there seems no problem with configuration since 90% of emails can be delivered to gmail.com/yahoo.com/hotmail.com boxes successfully. I noticed twitter is delivering millions of such automatic notifications to its users but I never missed a message from them. How do they archive this? Is there a permanent white list on gmail.com, yahoo.com or hotmail.com? Thanks in advance.
