  • why does my <br> not work ?

    I am returning a PHP array back to a JQuery call for appending into a div called "name-data". I want my array to be listed vertically, so I concatenate a br tag in the PHP however, when it gets to the HTML page the br is not being rendered, it just comes out as text. I have tried the various forms of br all without luck. I am new to JQuery - What am I doing wrong ? Many Thanks ! I know the data file is getting downloaded because I watch the directory where it is being placed. I also know that the import is happening, meaning that it is in the while loop, because I can monitor the DB and records are being inserted.   • Button in App on iOS 4.2 won't work properly

    My app, written for the iPad contains several UIButtons. One of them starts and stops an AVAudioPlayer: hitting the button once starts the player, hitting it again stops it accordingly. Rinse and repeat. This all works nicely on iOS version pre 4.2. When installing the App on an iPad with iOS 4.2, the button turns on and off the audio player exactly once, then stops working properly: after hitting the button, it turns into its selected state, but it does not start the audio player (as it should) and hitting the button again doesn't return it to its default state, either. As previously said: it's all fine and dandy pre 4.2, the problem only arises on the most current OS version. XCode 3.2.4 iPad with iOS 4.2

  • C++ obtaining milliseconds time on Linux -- clock() doesn't seem to work properly

    On Windows, clock() returns the time in milliseconds, but on this Linux box I'm working on, it rounds it to the nearest 1000 so the precision is only to the "second" level and not to the milliseconds level. I found a solution with Qt using the QTime class, instantiating an object and calling start() on it then calling elapsed() to get the number of milliseconds elapsed. I got kind of lucky because I'm working with Qt to begin with, but I'd like a solution that doesn't rely on third party libraries, Is there no standard way to do this? UPDATE Please don't recommend Boost .. If Boost and Qt can do it, surely it's not magic, there must be something standard that they're using!

For example.. in the page "Insert Post", "Edit Post".. I need to insert html! I read on web that's necessary to disable validaterequest directly in page with attribute validaterequest = "false" or in webconfig file! I tryied all ways, but when I insert in my textarea html code, I get always the error of potential value dangerous! Any solutions?

    Good morning, I would like the code in my controller to look something like this: <?php $class = new sanitizeInput() $string1 = $class -> input($_POST[name]) -> mysql_escape(); $string2 = $class -> input($_POST[age]) -> mysql_escape(); print " String1: $string1 <br /> String2: $string2" ?> It seems with my sanitizeInput class, any change to $string2 is applied to $string1.   • Jquery JSON .each() doesnt work in Google Chrome

    I have a really simple chat application on a site which works pretty good. This is driving me nuts, have tried everything I've come across online for days but I can't seem to get it right. Please someone help! I can provide testserver if someone wants to firebug it themselves ;)

What is each part doing? Functionally, the animation makes visible a series of pictures, then the whole site. I want to skip the animation and just make the whole site visible(if cookies='visited'). I'd like to do this without rewriting the animation script. here's a link. What happens now is if you have the cookie the animation doesn't run and everything is hidden.

    I am a bit confused about socket programming in C. You create a socket, bind it to an interface and an IP address and get it to listen. I found a couple of web resources on that, and understood it fine. In particular, I found an article Network programming under Unix systems to be very informative. What confuses me is the timing of data arriving on the socket. How can you tell when packets arrive, and how big the packet is, do you have to do all the heavy lifting yourself? My basic assumption here is that packets can be of variable length, so once binary data starts appearing down the socket, how do you begin to construct packets from that?

    I am using the jquery tabs . It shows up fine in Safari and firefox, however it will not load correct in IE. They show up as bullet points in stead of tabs.   • Why does "return ERROR" only work with exceptions?

    In the struts.xml I use: <result name="error">error</result> Then in my action I use: addActionError("ERROR RETURNED"); return ERROR; When I submit the form then it just goes to a blank page and does nothing. However, if I FORCE an exception to be thrown in the action then it goes to the error page and shows the ActionError message. So am I doing this wrong? If so, how should I tell struts to show an error page using "if statements" instead of relying solely on expensive try catches?
