  • Where do I place a set_locale in Kohana PHP framework?

    - by janoChen
In the following tutorial: http://pinoytech.org/blog/post/Kohana-2.4-I18N-internationalization-and-localization-Library the author says: I'd put it in a Base Controller so that all Controllers inherit it. this is the code: I18n::set_locale('tl_PH'); I tried placing it in all the controller and places I could but is not working. Which is the exact place where I should place it?

  • Render a template in Ramaze

    - by pkulak
I've got a template for a partial that I'd like to use and I'm wondering if it's possible to just render the thing without needing to send a mock request to a controller. I'm never going to need to render this to an AJAX call, so it seems silly to set up a controller and action, not to mention the security issues with making a private partial open to the world.

  • mod_rewrite to make a short URL

    - by Chris Stewart
I have a url like: http://skepticalgamer.com/category/slam-the-controller I'd like to strip out "category" from the URL. So I'd want: http://skepticalgamer.com/slam-the-controller to act as if it were the original URL above. Is that something that can be done with mod_rewrite?

  • Grails spring security defaultTargetUrl going wrong path

    - by fsi
Grails 2.4 with Spring security 2 3RC I have this on my Config.groovy grails.plugin.springsecurity.controllerAnnotations.staticRules = [ '/': ['permitAll'], '/index': ['permitAll'], '/index.gsp': ['permitAll'], '/**/js/**': ['permitAll'], '/**/css/**': ['permitAll'], '/**/images/**': ['permitAll'], '/**/favicon.ico': ['permitAll'] ] grails.plugin.springsecurity.successHandler.defaultTargetUrl = "/home/index" But this keeping me redirecting to assets/favicon.ico And my HomeController is like that @Secured(['ROLE_ADMIN', 'ROLE_USER']) def index() { if (SpringSecurityUtils.ifAllGranted('ROLE_ADMIN')) { redirect controller: 'admin', action: 'index' return } } And I modify this in my UrlMapping: "/"(controller: 'home', action:'index') Why it keeps me sending wrong path? Update: using another computer, it redirects me to /asset/grails_logo.png

  • MVC alternatives: examples of MVA & AVC?

    - by Phillip Oldham
I'm interested in learning about the alternative patterns to Model-View-Controller, specifically the Model-View-Adapter and Application-View-Controller patterns. Google results tend to be either a high-level overview or Java-based. Can anyone either provide, or point me to, an example of these patterns in either PHP, Python or JavaScript?

  • Rails: Pass association object to the View

    - by Fedyashev Nikita
Model Item belongs_to User. In my controller I have code like this: @items = Item.find(:all) I need to have a corresponding User models for each item in my View templates. it works in controller(but not in View template): @items.each { |item| item.user } But manual looping just to build associations for View template kinda smells. How can I do this not in a creepy way?

    - by user337174
Hi i am fairly new to objective c and have been doing some iphone programming. Is it possible to look up the value of a variable in a different class? Basically what i am doing is running a function that exists in my app delegate from a view controller, but the app delegate needs to use a variable stored in the view controller from which the app delegate function was called. Make sense??? Any help would be grateful. James

I'm trying to build a pager where it's just Next / Previous buttons that call a jquery function that post a JSON request. Inside the function, the current page "index" is retrieved from a hidden field and passed to the controller. Inside the controller, I reset the index if I'm on the last page of data. How would I pass the new index value back to the view? Or is there a better way to do what i'm trying to do? Thanks
