• Why is execution of batch files different between drag & drop and from command line?

  Ok, so I've been trying to figure this out for hours with no progress. I have created a batch file to get details of a VHD. Everything runs fine and produces the expected results when run from the command line in a command prompt. However, when I use drag and drop from file explorer (dragging a vhd file and dropping onto the batch file) the batch file runs without errors but the output (VHD.INFO) is empty. I'm stumped. Edited to only include the behaviour: @echo off cls setlocal enabledelayedexpansion set "_PATH.THIS=%~dp0" echo HELP | diskpart > %_PATH.THIS%OUTPUT.TMP TYPE %_PATH.THIS%OUTPUT.TMP PAUSE To demonstrate the different behaviour, please run the batch file from the command line once (works) and also run the batch file by double clicking in file explorer (failure in all piping commands).

• What's a good way to move large amounts of files from one place to another, using the file path?

  I'm going to move my Winamp library from its current location (in various folders inside My Documents) to My Music, but I can't just drag and drop them, as there's thousands of files within My Documents that I don't want moved. I can get the path of every single music file from Winamp, but I don't know any way to move them all. I'd like some way to maintain their current folder arrangement, and not just dump all the files in a single folder, unorganised.

• How do I get SSIS Data Flow to put '0.00' in a flat file?

  I have an SSIS package with a Data Flow that takes an ADO.NET data source (just a small table), executes a select * query, and outputs the query results to a flat file (I've also tried just pulling the whole table and not using a SQL select). The problem is that the data source pulls a column that is a Money datatype, and if the value is not zero, it comes into the text flat file just fine (like '123.45'), but when the value is zero, it shows up in the destination flat file as '.00'. I need to know how to get the leading zero back into the flat file. I've tried various datatypes for the output (in the Flat File Connection Manager), including currency and string, but this seems to have no effect. I've tried a case statement in my select, like this: CASE WHEN columnValue = 0 THEN '0.00' ELSE columnValue END (still results in '.00') I've tried variations on that like this: CASE WHEN columnValue = 0 THEN convert(decimal(12,2), '0.00') ELSE convert(decimal(12,2), columnValue) END (Still results in '.00') and: CASE WHEN columnValue = 0 THEN convert(money, '0.00') ELSE convert(money, columnValue) END (results in '.0000000000000000000') This silly little issue is killin' me. Can anybody tell me how to get a zero Money datatype database value into a flat file as '0.00'?

When I try to send this object back over the WCF service I get the log output OnSerializing of Team called ENetLogic.ENetPerson.Model.FirstPartyPerson[] After this my unit test crashes with a System.ExecutionEngineException, which means the WCF service is not able to serialize the array. (maybe because it expected a IList<) So, my question is: Does anybody know why the type of my IList< is an array after deserializing and why I can't serialize my Team object any longer after that?   I would like to read a DICOM file in C#. I don't want to do anything fancy, I just for now would like to know how to read in the elements, but first I would actually like to know how to read the header to see if is a valid DICOM file. It consists of Binary Data Elements. The first 128 bytes are unused (set to zero), followed by the string 'DICM'. This is followed by header information, which is organized into groups. A sample DICOM header First 128 bytes: unused DICOM format. Followed by the characters 'D','I','C','M' Followed by extra header information such as: 0002,0000, File Meta Elements Groups Len: 132 0002,0001, File Meta Info Version: 256 0002,0010, Transfer Syntax UID: 1.2.840.10008.1.2.1. 0008,0000, Identifying Group Length: 152 0008,0060, Modality: MR 0008,0070, Manufacturer: MRIcro In the above example, the header is organized into groups. The group 0002 hex is the file meta information group which contains 3 elements: one defines the group length, one stores the file version and the their stores the transfer syntax. Questions How to I read the header file and verify if it is a DICOM file by checking for the 'D','I','C','M' characters after the 128 byte preamble? How do I continue to parse the file reading the other parts of the data?

• Accessing objects on one nib file from another nib file

  I have two nib files Main.nib and Preferernces.nib I have a class CalendarView.m that inherits from NSView .It has a method for drawing calendar - (void)drawCalendar; In Main.nib window I have NSWindow(My Main window) which has an NSView item on it for displaying calendar.Main window has an NSPopUp button that shows a menu when application runs. Menu has a 'Preferences' menu item which on clicking show a preferences panel(NSPanel) that panel is in Preferences.nib file.Panel has a colorwell item .When application is executed clcking on colorwell show a color panel to choose color .But I am unable to apply that color to my calendar. I have another class PreferencesWindowController.m that shows preferences panel . It has a method changeColor that takes selected color from colors panel and make changes to user defaults . I have IBOutlet CalendarView *calView as a member in PreferencesWindowController.h class. In changeColor mehod I am writing - calView = [[CalendarView alloc] init]; [calView drawCalendar]; On debugging call goes to drawCalendar method of CalendarView but skips some part of it and goes to end of function without redrawing. On restarting the application color is applied but I want it to happen while application is executing, so that there is no need to rerun the application to view changes.

  After building a filepath (path, below) in a string (I am aware of Path in System.IO, but am using someone else's code and do not have the opportunity to refactor it to use Path). I have also seen several articles about different ways to transmit files and have diagnosed and found a solution to the problem (https and http headers) with a colleague. However, the error message that was being displayed was not about access to the file at path, but the aspx file. Edit: Error message is: Internet Explorer cannot download MyPage.aspx from server.domain.tld Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. (page name and address anonymised) Why is this? Is it due to the contents of the file coming from the HTTP response .Flush() method rather than a file being accessed at its address?

• Tomcat does not pick up the class file - the JSP file is not displayed

  I have a Java code which is a controller for a jsp page, called: HomeController.java. Code is as follows: @Controller public class HomeController { protected final transient Log log = LogFactory.getLog(getClass()); @RequestMapping(value = "/mypage") public String home() { System.out.println("HomeController: Passing through..."); return "home"; } } There is nothing especial in the jsp page: home.jsp. If I go to this url: http://localhost:8080/adcopyqueue/mypage I can view mypage and everything works fine. Also in the tomcat Dos page I can see the comment: HomeController: Passing through... As expected. Now under the same directory that I have HomeController.java, I've created another file called: LoginController.java. Following is the code: @Controller public class LoginController { protected final transient Log log = LogFactory.getLog(getClass()); @RequestMapping(value = "/loginpage") public String login() { System.out.println("LoginController: Passing through..."); return "login"; } } And under the same place which I have home.jsp, I've created login.jsp. Also under tomcat folders, LoginController.class exists under the same folder that HomeController.class exists and login.jsp exists under the same folder which home.jsp exists. But when I go to this url: http://localhost:8080/adcopyqueue/loginpage Nothing is displayed! I think tomcat does not pick up LoginController.class b/c on the tomcat Dos window, I do NOT see this comment: LoginController: Passing through... Instead I see following which I do not know what do they mean?   I am trying to use Linq2Sql to return all rows that contain values from a list of strings. The linq2sql class object has a string property that contains words separated by spaces. public class MyObject { public string MyProperty { get; set; } } Example MyProperty values are: MyObject1.MyProperty = "text1 text2 text3 text4" MyObject2.MyProperty = "text2" For example, using a string collection, I pass the below list var list = new List<>() { "text2", "text4" } This would return both items in my example above as they both contain "text2" value.   Hi, First of all this is not a homework, this is an interview question that I got from a company I attended today. You have a singly linked list with the Node structure as the following class Node{ int data; Node next; Node random; } You have a typical singly linked list of length n. The random pointer in each node in the linkedlist randomly points to some Node within the linked list. The Question is to create a copy of the linked list efficiently into a different LinkedList. I said that I will first calculate the Random pointer's position in the linked list and store it in an array. Then create a new linked list normally. Then iterate through the linked list by setting the random pointer where they belong by reading the values stored from the array. I know its a very brute force technique and the interviewer asked me to come up with a better solution but I couldnt. Please can someone answer this? I can explain if the question is not clear.

  I'm working on implementing the equality operator = for a custom class of mine. The class has one property, Value, which is itself a List(Of OtherClass), where OtherClass is yet another custom class in my project. I've already implemented the IComparer, IComparable, IEqualityComparer, and IEquatable interfaces, the operators =, <>, bool and not, and overriden Equals and GetHashCode for OtherClass. This should give me all the tools I need to compare these objects, and various tests comparing two singular instances of these objects so far checks out. However, I'm not sure how to approach this when they are in a List. I don't care about the list order. Given: Dim x As New List(Of OtherClass) From {New OtherClass("foo"), New OtherClass("bar"), New OtherClass("baz")} Dim y As New List(Of OtherClass) From {New OtherClass("baz"), New OtherClass("foo"), New OtherClass("bar")} Then (x = y).ToString should print out True. I need to compare the same (not distinct) set of objects in this list. The list shouldn't support dupes of OtherClass, but I'll have to figure out how to add that in later as an exception. Not interested in using LINQ. It looks nice, but in the few examples I've played with, adds a performance overhead in that bugs me. Loops are ugly, but they are fast :) A straight code answer is fine, but I'd like to understand the logic needed for such a comparison as well. I'm probably going to have to implement said logic more than a few times down the road.

• Emacs: Often switching between Emacs and my IDE's editor, how can I 'synch' the file?

  I very often need to do some Emacs magic on some files and I need to go back and forth my IDE (IntelliJ IDEA) and Emacs. When a change is made under Emacs (and after I've saved the file) and I go back to IntelliJ the change appears immediately (if I recall correctly I configured IntelliJ to "always reload file when a modification is detected on disk" or something like that). I don't even need to reload: as soon as IntelliJ IDEA gains focus, it instantly reloads the file (and I hence have immediately access to the modifications I made from Emacs). So far, so very good. However "the other way round", it doesn't work yet. Can I configure Emacs so that everytime a file is changed on disk it reloads it? Or make Emacs, everytime it "gains focus", verify if any file currently opened has been modified on disk? I know I can start modifying the buffer under Emacs and it shall instantly warn that it has been modified, but I'd rather have it do it immediately (for example if I used my IDE to do some big change, when I come back to Emacs what I see may not be at all anymore what the file contains and it's a bit weird).

• What else I must do allow my method to handle any type of objects

  So to allow any type object I must use generics in my code. I have rewrote this method to do so, but then when I create an object, for example Milk, it won't let me pass it to my method. Ether there's something wrong with my generic revision, or Milk object I created is not good. How should I pass my object correctly and add it to linked list?   I'm attempting to download a JSON from the following URL - http://api.crunchbase.com/v/1/companies.js - to a local file. I'm using Java 1.7 and the following JSON Libraries - http://www.json.org/java/ - to attempt to make it work. Does anyone know why this would stop reading? How could I fix the issue?

• Set umask, set permissions, and set ACL, but SAMBA isn't using those?

  I'm running on Ubuntu Server 12.04. I have a folder called Music and I want the default folder permissions to be 775 and the default file to then be 664. I set the default permissions on the Music folder to be 775. I configured ACL to use these default permissions as well: file: Music owner: kris group: kris flags: ss- user::rwx group::rwx other::r-x default:user::rwx default:group::rwx default:other::r-x I also changed the default umask for my user account, kris, to 002 in .profile. Shouldn't and new file/folder now use those permissions when writing to the Samba share? ACL should work with Samba from what I can gather. Currently, if I write to that folder using my mac, folders are getting 755 and files 644. I have another app on my mac called GoodSync which which is able to sync a local directory on my mac to a network samba share, but those permissions are even worse. files are being written as 700 using that program. So it looks like Samba is allowing the host/program to determine the folder/file permissions. What changes do I need to make to force the permissions I want regardless of what the host tries to write on the server?
