• How can I access form elements when using an ASP.NET MVC Ajax form?

  I've got an ajax form in an MVC 2 application. I cannot find the proper way to access the form elements within the Ajax form decleration. I can access the name of the elements with Request.Form.Keys but I can't access the actual values. I've read numerous examples of posting forms with jQuery but my form has elements created dynamically based on route values (sometimes it could be 2 text boxes sometimes 10, given unique names like so: <%= Html.TextBox("Evaluation"+Model.EvaluationId.ToString())) so I couldn't find a way to make that work with jQuery. Is there another way that I for elements can be accessed?

• Method of getting text on a windows form ( unmanaged C++ project )

  I'm in the process of learning C++. I've created a boilerplate Win32 app within VC++ 2008. I've studied through the code and am ready do do a bit of experimenting. I thought it would be cool to print all the windows messages received in the message loop to the form created via the boilerplate code. I for the life of me, can't figure out the method of getting text onto that form. I can't seem to identify and named object that I can use to reference that damn form. The best I can figure is I need to use the handle to reference the form somehow. Still, even if I did know how to reference the form, I'm not sure I know how I would create a label to display the text. Anyway, if someone could just point out what methodology I need to learn to make this happen it would be much appreciated. Thanks, Donovan

• vb.net add text to form without interaction

  I have a winform project which lists all the files in a specified folder. It allows the user to select a new destination for each file, and when the user has chosen the destinations for all files that he would like to be moved, it moves the files, one by one. My next step is, I need to display a confirm form when the files are being moved, and add each file's name and destination to the confirm form as it is being moved. My question is: How can I add more text to the confirm form's controls after I already loaded it (using confirm.showdialog() from my other form, without any user interaction? I imagine that I need to do it from the original form, because it needs to display each one when it starts to move that file, but I'm open to any suggestions:) TIA

  I was working on a project to submit a form from an email. The scenario is this. We will send a form to list of emails where in the customer has to fill in the form and once they hit submit, the form should be submitted and server should be able to retrieve the values that is provided by the person filling in.When i tried, it was not considering the submit button as form submit and no action is being performed. • jQuery append breaks my HTML form (with submit button)

  I'm trying to create a form with a submit button via jQuery using append(). I'm happy to use the 2nd method, but would rather know what the problem is here. Thanks

  hi guys. so i have this form and on it is a combo box populated from a database via a SQL method. and i have another form which allows us to maintain the database table etc. so i make a new instance of the second form doing: Form1 frm = new Form2; frm.show(); once i have done what ever i wanted to do on the second form and i close it, i need to somehow trigger an event or something which will refresh the combo box and the code behind it. i was thinking of some onchange or focus event for the whole form, the problem is i have 5 of these combo boxes and running all the SQL again. i also thought of passing somesort of variable thro but then i would still need an event for that. any ideals would be awesome

  I would like to use Google Image search, however I can't find the proper url anywhere. Examples always refer to the web search, not the image search. I do not want to use javascript, I need the iamge at server side. Please, do not simply post links to the API documentation, but preferably the url itself.   I have a Page with a Wizard component. The user can navigate the panels of the wizard by using the next and previous buttons which I have performing full (non-ajax) form submissions so that the app is back-button friendly. When the next button is clicked, I would like to attempt ajax form validation (if javascript is enabled). I tried doing: nextButton.add( new AjaxFormValidatingBehavior( form, "onsubmit") ); to add such validation. The behaviour works - however, when validation errors occur the browser still submits the entire form. What is the Wicket way to prevent the browser from submitting the form in this case?

  I have been playing around with an installation of SOLR that indexes some data from my database. I am able to index data and query it back but I was wondering about how field name queries work. For certain fields I am able to specify their name and the search text to have the results return as expected and for other fields, when I specify their name and search text, no results are returned. q=type:book //(this will work) q=type:book AND title:"The Title" //(no results returned) In this example, type is a required field and title is not. For the example where I search by title, I can see the document in the results of the first query having the given title so I know that a document exists that matches this search. Is making a field 'required' the only way to be able to search by field name? [edit] I'm using the default installation and the 'example' folder inside of solr, editing the xml files and using the interface available through start.jar to be able to run, index and query.

• adding a background color to search term results

  I'm trying to add a background color to a user submitted search result when a user enters a search term on a page (which is basically one big table). This is a text based search. I'm using jquery to show/hide the table rows that do not have the search term as text within the TR, but I'd ideally like to take the additional step of taking the search term (the entered value), and matching any of those text terms in the remaining (showing) rows and adding say a yellow background to the word(s).   Im´trying to submit a form without refreshing the page, but I´m having a problem. When I click submit the page refreshes and anothing gets posted. Here is the code, what am I doing wrong? • Setting a form field's value during validation

  I read about this issue already, but I'm having trouble understanding why I can't change the value of a form's field during validation. I have a form where a user can enter a decimal value. This value has to be higher than the initial value of the item the user is changing. During clean(), the value that was entered is checked against the item's previous value. I would like to be able to re-set the form field's value to the item's initial value when a user enters a lower value. Is this possible from within the clean() method, or am I forced to do this in the view? Somehow, it doesn't feel right to do this in the view... (To make matters more complicated, the form's fields are built up dynamically, meaning I have to override the form's clean() method instead of using the clean_() method).

• Image-free, custom-styled search bar

  I'm working with the designer and he sent me the following design for the search bar on our webpage: I'm very much against using images in webpage design unless completely necessary, so I'm hoping that I can recreate the whole search bar widget in CSS. I know how to do border-radius, gradients, box-shadows, etc, so that's not a problem. Question: Assuming CSS3 browser compatibility, how can I go about recreating the actual search button (the magnifying glass portion) with the double curved edge, and the slight drop shadow on the bottom left? Thoughts: My initial feeling was that the search button would be circular and free-standing, then overlap the search input div with a negative left-margin, but then I was unsure how I would get that drop shadow. Edit: I'm not completely opposed to using an image for the magnifying glass, but I've seen a similar icon created in CSS before. Would an image vs. pure CSS end up loading at the same speed, or should I do all I can do in pure CSS?

  Hello. I am trying to do some custom things in Django comments form. I have simple tag named "get_flatpage_by_id" that returns flatpage model data as array. This is working I expected: {% get_flatpage_by_id 14 as page %} It's returning flatpage that ID is 14. But this is not working, if I try to pass {{ form.object_pk.data }} (that returns 14). This is how it should look like: {% get_flatpage_by_id form.object_pk.data as page %} Simple tag receives value "form.object_pk.data" (string), not 14. I don't know how to tell Django that "form.object_pk.data" is variable, not a string!
