  • WCF webservice stop working after upgrade to framework 3.5 sp1

    I have a wcf webservice on one of my testing servers. Everything worked fine until I upgraded frome framework 3.5 to 3.5 sp1. the wcf web service stoped working and returns the error: "Failed to invoke the service. The service may be offline or inaccessible. Refer to the stack trace for details." "The remote server returned an unexpected response: (502) Proxy Error ( The specified network name is no longer available. ).   • Event receiver on Content Type not triggered on WikiPageLibrary

    Hello all, I created a new content type for a wiki page library. I added this content type to library by code (the interface did not allow this). Next, I added an event receiver to this content type (on ItemAdded and ItemAdding). My problem is that no event is trrigered. If I add this events directly to the wiki page library all works fine. Is there a limitation/bug/trick ?     Hi, I've upgraded PHP on my local dev system to version 5.3.0, and there is some problem when I use constants in application.ini - following manual http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/learning.quickstart.create-project.html I have: bootstrap.path = APPLICATION_PATH "/Bootstrap.php" which leads to: Warning: require_once(APPLICATION_PATH/Bootstrap.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Zend\Application.php on line 320 any ideas? SOLVED: Actually name of my constant was _DIR_APPLICATION (code above was copied from ZF manual) - problem lies in this underscore at the begining - it seems that parse_ini_file() in PHP 5.3.0 doesn't replace constants named like this. Short test - you need two files: test.ini bootstrap.path = _DIR_APPLICATION "/Bootstrap.php" bootstrap.class = "Bootstrap" and test.php <?php define('_DIR_APPLICATION', 'test'); $data = parse_ini_file('test.ini'); print_r($data); try to run, then change constant name to 'DIR_APPLICATION' (in both files) and compare result ;)

  • Upgrade URL for SEO from mysite.com/dbtable_id/ to mysite.com/dbtable_id/article-title

    I have an existing journal website with the following url structure http://mysite.com/dbtable_id/ (eg. http://mysite.com/89348/) where 89348 is the primary key id of the journal article. I want to add the title of the article to the url for SEO purposes like http://mysite.com/dbtable_id/article-title (eg. http://mysite.com/89348/hello-world) I like this approach because I don't need to change the PHP code since it will still look up the article by dbtable_id. All I have to do is append url friendly titles to relevant links in template files and add one more rule to a .htaccess file. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Am I following best practices? Will the possibility for mismatch between "dbtable_id" and "article-title" affect SEO?

  • WCF is throwing UnauthorizedAccessExceptyion after upgrade to .NET 4.0

    I have a pretty simple client-server ASP.NET app; communication is via WCF service. All worked perferctly inVS 2008, now I upgraded to VS2010 and every time the client code is trying to instantiate a channel to the server: new ChannelFactory<IMemberService>("Members.MemberService").CreateChannel(); it throws an UnauthorizedAccessException "Access denied". Were there any breaking changes in the new version, or do I need to add some configuration? I'm pretty stuck, any ideas would be highly appreciated! BTW, binding used is basicHttpBinding, i don't know if thats important here. Thank you, Andrey

    Hi All, In below code in a Gird First column is BaseFieldControl from a column of type Choice of SPList. Secound column is a text box control with textchange event. Both the controls are created at rowdatabound event of gridview. Now the problem is that when Steps: 1) select any of the value from BaseFieldControl(DropDownList) which is rendered from Choice Column of SPList 2) enter any thing in textbox in another column of grid. 3) textchanged event fires up and in textchange event rebound the grid. Problem: the selected value becomes the first item or the default value(if any). but if i do not rebound the grid at text changed event it works fine.   • How to upgrade a VB6 app with .NET components

    I want to make a change to a VB6 app which consists of a .EXE, no VB6 DLLs but a handful of .NET DLLs. The interop is achieved by a one of the .NET dlls being referenced by the VB6 app which seems to require REGASM-ing of an associated .tlb file. If I want to change only the VB6 app .exe, could I just compile it and drop it into the app folder on existing installations or are there going to be binding issues?

If you dig down into the error output it says access is denied. I have tried various methods of sending credentials but none seem to work. "ClientCredentials.Windows" is not supported and ClientCredentials.UsersName.Username is read only.

  • Problem with SQLite related nUnit-tests after upgrade to VS2010 and Re#5

    After converting to Visual Studio 2010 with ReSharper5 some of my unit tests started failing. More specifically this applies to all unit tests that use NHibernate with SQLite. The problem seem to be related to SQLite somehow. The unit tests that does not involve NHibernate and SQLite are still running fine. The exception is as follows: NHibernate.HibernateException : Could not create the driver from NHibernate.Driver.SQLite20Driver, NHibernate, Version=2.1.2.4000, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=aa95f207798dfdb4. ----> System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException : Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ----> NHibernate.HibernateException : The IDbCommand and IDbConnection implementation in the assembly System.Data.SQLite could not be found. Ensure that the assembly System.Data.SQLite is located in the application directory or in the Global Assembly Cache. If the assembly is in the GAC, use <qualifyAssembly/> element in the application configuration file to specify the full name of the assembly. TearDown : System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The exception is the NullReferenceException on TearDown when cleaning up NHibernate objects that wasn't successfully created, but the problem seem to be related to SQLite somehow. I run my unit tests through ReSharper, but I get the same exception when running them directly through the NUnit.exe application. However, running them through the x86 variant (NUnit-x86.exe) all tests run fine. Can it be related to some mixing of 64bit and 32bit dlls? It still runs fine through VS2008 + ReSharper4.5. Note that the target framework of my projects still is .NET3.5. Anyone seen this problem before?

  • ASP.NET 1.0 site error after upgrade to VS.NET 2010

    Help. I installed VS.NET 2010 and now my existing ASP.NET MVC application won't run. I checked that the 1.0 version of System.Web.Mvc is still referenced but when I browse my application, I get an error like this: "Compiler Error Message: CS1579: foreach statement cannot operate on variables of type 'object' because 'object' does not contain a public definition for 'GetEnumerator'". My partial view has this declaration: <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl<List<ProductModel" %> //various import statements <div <% foreach (var category in Model.Categories) { % <span<%= category.Name %</span <span<%= category.Market%</span <% } % </div For what it's worth, the source view shows ViewUserControl in red and gives a tool tip reading "Cannot resolve symbol 'ViewUserControl'". My working code didn't change, the only delta is that I upgraded to VS.NET 2010 (which includes MVC 2.0); I'm sure something is not referenced correctly but I cannot figure out what's going on.

    We upgraded from mockito-all-1.8.5.jar to mockito-all-1.9.0.jar and now see null pointers when using annotations for the classes being mocked. But the problem is that, if I update the existing paid application as free application (with few features locked and user has to buy it to unlock it), what about the users who have already purchased this application. Because when they will update to new free application, few features will be locked and they have to pay again to unlock them (why should they pay, if they have already purchased whole application previously).   • Errors with redefinitions after upgrade to XCode 3.2.3

    I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and Xcode 3.2.5 so I could test on my iPod Touch and iPhone and ran into some problems with the project I was working on. First it couldn't find a Base SDK, then my old frameworks weren't hooking up correctly. Finally after setting the Project Format to Xcode 3.1 compatible (3.2 also worked) and the Base SDK for all configurations to iOS 4.2, then setting my iOS deployment target to iOS 3.0 I was able to get the system to find a Base SDK and attempt a build. That's when the frameworks didn't want to cooperate. 4/6 I'm using displayed in red, so I re routed the path to the iPhone simulator 4.2 platform which worked perfectly. I was able to build my project, no errors or warnings and my app worked fine. I went to work last night thinking I had fixed the problem. This morning I fired up the laptop and went to build my code base and now have 1142 errors all of which have to do with code I haven't written deemed as being redefined. Suggestions? I want the app to make a call to my server to see if there is a new version. since a new version is found, i want to send down the new version of the app to the device and have it installed, replacing the old version. my first thought was just to have the app download the .cab file and kick off the cab file just before exiting the app. this would mostly get the job done but it would prompt the user to pick the installation location if they have a storage card or other partitions on their device. i would like to prevent any user input and just have the new version of the app installed, replacing the old app. i'm certain that there are others doing this already and i don't want to reinvent the wheel, here. what application management tools and systems exist for this type of process? how can I facilitate this type of process?

  • Many tooltips after upgrade to Eclipse 3.5

    I've upgraded to Eclipse 3.5 and now tooltips are displayed for everything - for any field, for any method, for anything. The worst thing is that they are displaying immediately after i've moved the mouse (no delay!) So almost always I do see some tooltip, this is very inconvenient. How can I either increase the delay or disable tooltips?
