• Custom View with Bindings in a NSTableCellView

  i have an XCode 4 project for mac desktop. It has a tableview in it that uses NSTableCellViews. The TableView is connected to an NSArrayController to provide it's content. This is using bindings for custom labels and the like, which has worked out rather well. I have a custom view that i would like to put in the NSTableCellView, which will use custom drawing based on a NSNumber value from my Table Cell View binding. Since XCode 4, you can no longer have ibplugins, which means i can no longer create custom bindings for interface builder to work with. How can I still get this value to my custom view?

• Sparse matrices / arrays in Java

  I'm working on a project, written in Java, which requires that I build a very large 2-D sparse array. Very sparse, if that makes a difference. Anyway: the most crucial aspect for this application is efficency in terms of time (assume loads of memory, though not nearly so unlimited as to allow me to use a standard 2-D array -- the key range is in the billions in both dimensions). Out of the kajillion cells in the array, there will be several hundred thousand cells which contain an object. I need to be able to modify cell contents VERY quickly. Anyway: Does anyone know a particularly good library for this purpose? It would have to be Berkeley, LGPL or similar license (no GPL, as the product can't be entirely open-sourced). Or if there's just a very simple way to make a homebrew sparse array object, that'd be fine too. I'm considering MTJ, but haven't heard any opinions on its quality. Thanks!! -Dan

• Adding a subview to UITableCellView

  I want to add a subview to my UITableCellView subclass. However, non of the provided views in the class seem to be able to do exactly what I was looking for. I basically want to add my own background view, filling the whole cell. However, if I replace the backgroundView, the style from the grouped table view layout isn't displayed anymore. If I add a subview to backgroundView, the subview is not shown at all. If I add a subview to the contentView, I can't draw behind the accessory icon. What am I missing?

  When I add a subview to my UITableViewController, it seems to be underneath the tableview. I may be loading my subview incorrectly, or calling addSubview in the wrong place. The subview I'm referring to is the red area above the tabbar that also contains the "Click me" button: You can see that the cell lines kind of overlap. Here is where I'm adding the subview in my TableViewController: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; CGRect hRect = CGRectMake(0, 170, 320, 480); HomeScreenOverlayView *homeView = [[HomeScreenOverlayView alloc] initWithFrame:hRect]; [self.tableView addSubview:homeView]; [homeView release]; } Any ideas? • How to add a hyperlink column to a TcxGrid (Developer express grid)

  Hi In Delphi I've managed (!) to add a column to a TcxGrid table view that appears as a hyperlink (instead of a simple string). To do this, you simply edit 'properties' of the column and choose 'hyperlink'. The cell now shows a hyperlink style (underlined) but I canot for the life of me see how to: Get the cursor to change to the 'hand' when over the link. Add an event that is fired when I click the link. Can anyone help? Thanks.

• Wifi network undetectable on a Lenovo G470

  I have a WPA2 secured network with a visible SSID at home that works perfectly fine with a Dell laptop,a HP netbook and sundry mobile phones. When I try connecting my sister's Lenovo G470, it refuses to detect the wifi network no matter what, but shows up the neighbors' networks. The Lenovo also works correctly at her office. Both laptops run Windows 7. Already tried/checked the following: Manually configure wifi network settings (copied over from the Dell) Ensure there is no MAC address filtering on the router. Ensure router DHCP server is not running out of addresses to assign (I have set it to allocate upto 10). Reboot laptop, router etc. Is this a known problem, and is there anything else one could try? Update - The problematic Lenovo uses Windows 7 Home Basic while the Dell that works uses Home Premium and the HP netbook uses Starter edition - if that makes any difference. Further update - It is able to connect if I reboot into safe mode with networking. However in 'normal' mode it shows up the network sporadically, and then says there was an error connecting to it. All the network parameters, password, encryption, etc etc are EXACTLY the same as they are on the Dell.

  I'm looking to have a click event for all columns but the last column of a GridView and then have a separate click event for the last column of the gridview (a DropDownList). • audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying not being called during scrolling UITableView

  One of my views is a UITableView which acts as the delegate for an AVAudioPlayer and this table essentially plays sounds when you select a certain row with options to repeat the sound after its finished playing. However, I noticed that if I select a cell with repeat ON for a certain sound and then scroll through the UITableView to select a different sound, it will not call audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying (and therefore not repeat) until after scrolling has stopped. As soon as I stop scrolling, it repeats just fine. Or if I don't scroll at all, it repeats just fine. What could be happening during scrolling that the UITableView is no longer acting as the delegate and calling audioPlayerDidFinishPlaying? Any thoughts?

• How to use my computer as a Headset device for my phone with Bluetooth?

  I want to extract the audio from my phone (the analog TV and FM/AM receiver mainly) and play it through my computer speakers. There is a headphone jack but it is of non-standard size (probably a micro-jack) and I do not have access to a shop that sells that kind of equipment in my area so doing this with Bluetooth is the only solution I can foresee. Both my laptop and my phone support A2DP but for some reason the service (from the phone) does not show up while I add a new connection and the phone does not let me initiate a connection with any other profile except FTP (although it detects other services in the service list like A2DP and works perfectly fine with other profiles like DUN, HID, OPP, SSP if the connection is started through the computer). I am currently using the latest version of the Toshiba stack, I have tried using WIDCOMM but it refuses to install drivers for both the internal Bluetooth (which is a Broadcom device) and the USB Bluetooth that I use on my desktop. The standard Microsoft stack (generic driver) does install but it does not work with both of my devices as they do not detect any Bluetooth devices when scanning. With BlueSoleil (the default stack that came with the USB Bluetooth) I could set my device as "headset" instead of only "laptop/desktop", and this allowed both my phones to detect my laptop as a device they can use as a headset, but the problem with this stack was that only the older phone could actually connect to my laptop and that the internal Bluetooth could not be used. Basically, I want to set the device type as a "headset" for my phone using the Toshiba stack like I did with BlueSoleil. Is there any way this could be done? Thanks.   Today we got the executive green light to proceed with changing from a Domino platform to Exchange. The business prefers Exchange for a messaging platform. (even though IMO IBM Domino is fine - if it aint broke, don't fix it but it was not my call). I have been put in charge of Domino to Exchange process goes smoothly as possible. I have also been told to put together costs for this project. I have some questions and concerns re: network design, licensing, costs: The current setup is as follows. 1 HQ office (100 users), 1 secondary office (50 users), 5 branch offices (under 10 users). 5 different email domains Windows Server 2003 functional level with a few 2008 R2 Servers Lotus Domino Notes Servers (one in each office) Ironmail Appliance Public Domino Web Mail server Majority G5+ Proliant Servers Domino Blackberry Enterprise license and server No VoIP phones What are the basic hardware requirements for Exchange 2007 or 2010? Can I simply purchase a single physical server? Will each office require an Exchange server or possibly additional servers (roles)? How is email routed to the smaller branch offices? Standard or Enterprise licenses? The business has been running Domino (messaging and application services) for over 10 years and also want Exchange to support email services, Blackberry, Outlook Web Access, possibly support for iPhone devices. • WPF DataGrid default column types

  Hi, I'm using a DataGrid to display 2 possible types of DataRow in a DataTable. One type has the column Parent = NULL and the other has Parent set to another DataRow in the same DataTable. The list of column in the DataTable is always different, so explicitly describing each column is not possible. I want to display a UserControl in every cell of the Parent = DataRow rows, and default Text / Check boxes for the Parent = NULL rows. My first strategy is to try and set the default Column type for all automatically generated columns to be a DataGridTemplateColumn, regardless of datatype, so that I can use styles to then use either my UserControl or CheckBox or TextBox where required. How can I do this? More importantly, though, is there a better strategy than this? Cheers, Dave

• Options for synchronizing Palm Desktop calendars

  My wife and I each have Palm Centro phones and very full calendars. We've been using Palm products for years and are happy with them and are not looking to switch (and don't have the budget for it even if we wanted to). What is a viable way we can synchronize our calendars? Back when we had Palm Z22s we used AirSet. It worked great in synchronizing our desktop calendars. Unfortunately, their sync software does not support Palm Desktop v6 and there is nothing in the pipeline to support it. (The third party vendor is apparently not interested in updating for the newer Palm desktop.) I would love to be able to get back to having each other's appointments appear on the other's calendar. What can we do? Some limitations: A data plan is not an option (so this precludes over-the-air synchronization options) No Microsoft Outlook Edit: Syncing my Palm to my Palm Desktop is not the issue. Being able to sync, in some way, the Palm calendar databases of my wife's and my calendars is what's desired.

• Telling a UITextField to become first responder while embedded in a UITableViewCell

  I have a UITextField that is a subview of a UITableViewCell. When my view loads, I want the text field to become first responder. I have a pointer to the text field in the table cell, so to do this I am trying: [myTextField becomeFirstResponder]; This returns NO all the time, regardless of when it's called, which according to the docs means the text field refused to become first responder... What am I doing wrong? Edit: The text field properly responds to being touched. It bring up the keyboard then. It's only when telling it to become first responder programmatically that the problem happens.

I am storing text and images in a tableview and would like the user to be able to tap on a cell to hide the navigation controller and the tabbar for full screen viewing of the content. I found this code for hiding the top bars, but it does not seem as easy to hide the tabbar. [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarHidden:YES animated:YES]; [self.navigationController setNavigationBarHidden:YES animated:YES]; Does anyone know how to do this? • Is it possible to detect nearby Wi-Fi enabled devices, not necessarily on the same network? [closed]

  first question on StackExchange ever. I hope I got the right board. I'm trying to create a device (either from a standard AP or some other unconventional means) that will be able to detect nearby Wi-Fi enabled devices. For example, if a cellular phone (iPhone for instance) would be carried into the secured area, its MAC address will be logged. A cellular phone is a good example because it's the most common threat that should be detected. Some important points: The detection can be either active or passive, doesn't matter. The detected device might be connected to a different network, or might not be connected to anything at all. I assume most cellular phones are actively probing when not connected, but I'm not sure. It is important to not only identify the breach, but also to identify the device (MAC address). Conventional hardware is only optional. Distance of detection is at least 6 meters (20 feet). Handling one device at a time is good. Speed of detection is important, under 5 seconds is ideal. So my question is, is this even possible? If so, what can I use in order to make this a reality? • How to get the same UITableViewCell layout as in the Address Book app?

  Hi, I currently have a custom UITableViewCell which contains a few labels, and an image. The "main" label is used to display people's names. Currently, I'm styling it in bold text. What I'd like to do (to gain some space and readability), is to mimic the Address Book app cell style, that is: first name in light text, and family name in bold text. Is there a way to do this using the same UILabel? Or, should I use 2 different UILabels? How should I layout them, without knowing their sizes? Thanks in advance for your assistance!

  I've already implemented an app that has navigationController at the very top, and it shows tableView at the first, and if it's cell is clicked, another view is pushed into the navigationController.   Hi All, I'm having a bit of trouble with regex's (C#, ASP.NET), and I'm pretty sure I'm doing something fundamentally wrong. My task is to bind a dynamically created gridview to a datasource, and then iterate through a column in the grid, looking for the string "A&I". An example of what the data in the cell (in template column) looks like is: Name: John Doe Phone: 555-123-1234 Email: [email protected] Dept: DHS-A&I-MRB Here's the code I'm using to find the string value: foreach(GridViewRow gvrow in gv.Rows) { Match m = Regex.Match(gvrow.Cells[6].Text,"A&I"); if(m.Success) { gvrow.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Red; } } I'm not having any luck with any of these variations: "A&I" "[A][&][I]" But when I strictly user "&", the row does turn red.
