  • Testing site performance with multiple browsers and versions

    We're trying to document the performance difference of our site using different browsers. We use LoadRunner for load testing but I don't see a way to specify the "browser engine" it uses to run it's tests (perhaps it's using it's own?). In any event I'm not sure that LoadRunner is the right tool for this job but we own it so if we can use it, great. If not, is there another tool out there that I can use to record a script and run it automatically against a site using several different browsers?

    Hi, In entity framework is there a way to have a default value for a column such that Linq to Entity won't require this parameter when constructing a new object? For example I've marked on column in the EF designer with a default value (I typed in "All" as it was a string). But if I try to construct a new record and not specify this parameter I still get a FOREIGN KEY constraint exception. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_FunctionalityTypeInterfaceRelationship"

I need to create a type of linq query that does a left outer join on people and gets the latest record in the vertical table based off the max(id) column.     I have a table like so: mysql> show create table foo; CREATE TABLE foo ( network bigint NOT NULL, activeDate datetime NULL default '0000-00-00 00:00:00', ... ) In the domain object, FooVO the activeDate member is annotated as Temporal. If I don't set activeDate to a valid Date instance, a new record is inserted with NULLs. I want the default value to take effect if I don't set the activeDate member. Thanks.

    I currently have a PHP form that uses AJAX to connect to MySQL and display records matching a user's selection (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2593317/ajax-display-mysql-data-with-value-from-multiple-select-boxes) As well as displaying the data, I also place an 'Edit' button next to each result which displays a form where the data can be edited. My problem is editing unique records since currently I only use the selected values for 'name' and 'age' to find the record. If two (or more) records share the same name and age, I am only able to edit the first result.

  • Memory leak appears only when multiprocessing

    I am trying to use python's multiprocessing library to hopefully gain some performance. Specifically I am using its map function. Now, for some reason when I swap it out with its single threaded counterpart I don't get any memory leaks over time. But using the multiprocessing version of map causes my memory to go through the roof. For the record I am doing something which can easily hog up loads of memory, but what would the difference be between the two to cause such a stark difference?
