  • Issues with Apache redirect to www-prefixed URL

    I have a website with domain mysite.com. I would like to have it so that if a user types in "mysite.com" it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Additionally, "mysite.com/subdir" will also redirect to "www.mysite.com/subdir". I've looked and made changes with vhosts and also rewrites, but it's not working for the "mysite.com/subdir"-"www.mysite.com/subdir" case. Every time I type in "mysite.com/subdir", it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Only "www.mysite.com/subdir" works. Not sure how to troubleshoot this. I turned on rewrite logs and didn't see anything obvious, yet. This is my config files so far. Please let me know what I'm missing. Thanks! FYI: I'm using CentOS 5.4, nginx 1.2.0 on top of Apache 2.2.3.   • PyCharm: How to skip over closing braces / brackets / parentheses?

    This is driving me nuts. I can't get the auto-indentations to work properly unless I use the automatic closing of braces, et al (which I don't like), and I see no option allowing one to skip over/out. Eclipse has a configuration option for this, and Visual Studio doesn't auto-close everything by default, but rather formats the code block after manually entering the closing brace (which I think is perfect). Surely there's something apart from going all the way over to the "End" key?

  • Why does filter: blur(0) still cause text to blur under Webkit?

    I've come across a bug today that's taken far longer than I would like to admit to identify. Essentially: setting a filter: blur(0) (or the vendor-specific -webkit-filter) on an element should - I believe - mean that no form of blur is applied. However, having tested this today, it would appear that Webkit based browsers still blur the text within any element with either blur(0) or blur(0px) assigned to it.   • Why limit WCF ServiceContracts to 10-20 OperationContracts?

    I've seen recommendations (Juval Lowy, et al) that a service contract should have "no more than 20 members...twelve is probably the practical limit". Why? It seems that if you wish to provide a service as the interface to a relatively large db (50-100 tables) you're going to go way past that in just CRUD alone. I've worked with plenty of other services that provided hundreds of 'OperationContracts'...is there something peculiar about WCF? Is there something I'm missing here?

    Is it possible to get the this that a function's caller was called with in JavaScript without passing this to the arguments in a way which supports IE as well as Firefox/Chrome et al?     I'd like to implement the group by features for the default grid as it's available for the commercial grid like devexpress/infragistics et al, if you want a sample, see the 2nd image on http://www.devexpress.com/Products/NET/Controls/WinForms/Grid/dataoperations.xml I'd think there's some pattern or better yet some opensource/free grid which does this already, if not, i would probably implement it if i can find the time (doubtful ! and esp since it's available so easily in most packages, if only i can convince the client to pay for a license ) & want to get some ideas/patterns on the same
