I would like to download this video: http://videolectures.net/mlss07_rasmussen_bigp/. But I cannot do it. How can I do it?
Of course the platform is Mac OS X.
I would like to know what kind of applications are suitable to be developed on top of Sharepoint 2010 and which should not be built on to of it. So when to embrace/avoid Sharepoint 2010 as a development platform for new web applications.
I'm an Asp.net MVC (former web forms) developer and would like to know if usual multi-page semi complex web applications (intra/extra-net) should be built on top of Sharepoint 2010 and why (if yes or if no).
I am new to Mongodb and EC2. If I use following single MongoDb server :
High-Memory Extra Large Instance 17.1 GiB memory, 6.5 ECU (2 virtual cores with 3.25 EC2 Compute Units each), 420 GB of local instance storage, 64-bit platform
As a layman, if we quantify I/O, data in MB/sec. How much I/O transactions mongodb server can handle easily, without being burnt out.
Consider default settings of EC2 server with Ubuntu and MongoDb version available in AWS marketplace.
Thanks in advance
I am about to start a portal project, and was considering Liferay as the base platform. However, I just learned about Google Sites and I am impressed on its capabilities. Anyone has an experience on substituting his intranet with Google Sites?
Thanks.
Is there a pre-existing startup script for supervisord on FreeBSD? If not, is there a good guide for writing rc.d scripts for FreeBSD? I'm pretty new to the platform.

Hi.
I am setting up a BizTalk 2009 Server production environment and I wonder if this tutorial: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc558972(BTS.10).aspx is still fairly accurate for an installation on all the latest platform software (Hyper-V, Windows Server 2008, BizTalk Server 2009, SQL Server 2008)?
Is there anything like this but more up to date?
Any other advice about this process and links to articles, blogs & tutorials would be appreciated.
When storing personal data on a USB stick, data needs to be encrypted to ensure privacy. Regrettably, this is far from easy to do without introducing a lot of overhead; ideally, the whole encryption process should done automatically. Does anyone know of a convenient way to encrypt the data on a USB drive?
Update: I am using Windows Vista, although I would prefer a cross-platform solution.
Howdy, I'm experiencing random freezes in Magix Music Maker 16 on my Win7 platform. I'm running the app in admin mode btw.
The freezes quite often occur after I load my compiled song and try to listen to different soundloops OR just seemingly randomly.
Anyone know a solution?
Hi.
I'm trying to diagnose a memory leak in a process, and looking for a tool to graph it's memory usage over time.
Is there any tool on Linux that supports diagramming in form similar to Windows PerfMon?
I tried using IBM virtual assistant, but it works only on 32-bit, while I have 64-bit platform.
Thanks.
Has anyone had experience with setting up Linux RedHat EL Server 5.2 on a hardware platform were the boot partition is larger than 2Tb?
Every time I have tried this I get the message that RedHat does not support the boot partition on a GPT volume. Is there a work around for this as I have read that you can use parted but I am not sure how to invoke this on install?
Thanks in advance.
Title pretty much says it all... Is there a way to open/import an SVG file with Photoshop CS2 or CS3? I am on Mac OS X but cross platform solutions are preferred. Illustrator can open SVG files, so I find it odd that Photoshop cannot. I understand Illustrator is vector based, but Photoshop has limited vector capabilities also...
I'm currently running my jsp pages on a windows 2003 server, apache tomcat 5.5 setup. My process involved is as follows:
make change to .java file
compile .java file
restart apache tomcat service
refresh browser
check c:\program files\apache software foundation\tomcat 5.5\logs
This is beyond cumbersome. Is there a better development platform to develop jsp pages which makes life alot easier?
thanks in advance

I’m working on a Windows platform but need to run some bash files and within these bash files I’ve to execute some DB2 commands to test different settings and indexes. However, I can’t seem to get it to work.
I’ve google the problem but haven’t come up with a solution.

Many years ago, I had a product called Quickeys for the Macintosh that allowed me to record keyboard and mouse events and create a macro that could be assigned to a keyboard accelerator.
This was a really useful tool, but I haven't seen anything like it ever on Microsoft Windows OS platform.
Does such a product exist?
I want to store some videos for long term. But I'm not sure what is the most compatible video format. I don't want to wake up one day in the future when computers use some totally different architecture and realize that a particular codex needed for the video is no longer available for the platform that I'm using.
Does anyone have an idea how to scan over a home network or have documentation about this? I can't find a good sollution.

I have a Samba share set up that I'd like to put a git repository on. I've tried searching google for the best way to use git on a Samba share, but it seems difficult to find anything on doing this as Samba uses git for development.
What is the best way to do this? Right now, I'm just working with Linux, but it would be nice to know how to do this in a cross-platform manner as well.
Is there a function of MS Word that enables users to solve basic math problems, in this case addition or subtraction? I use its platform for a budget and of course I could just use a calculator but it would be more convenient if I could solve it all in one place.
For instance:
(6.75 + 12.65 + 27.35)
Sorry for the simplicity of this question. Wondering if MS Word had a functionality like this of some sort?
I'm setting up an ASA 5505 where the ISP provides a dynamic IP address (rarely changes.) I would like to start using some of the services provided by DynDNS such as Custom DNS.
I've come across some information regarding Cisco Routers and DynDNS, but nothing definitive on the ASA platform.
My question is whether I can configure the ASA5505 to update the IP address rather than install the DynDNS Updater software on a machine running on the LAN?
Thanks
