  • Python stdout, \r progress bar and sshd with Putty not updating regularly

    - by Kyle MacFarlane
    I have a dead simple progress "bar" using something like the following: import sys from time import sleep current = 0 limit = 50 while current <= limit: sys.stdout.write('\rSynced %s/%s orders' % (current, limit)) current_order += 1 sleep(1) Works fine, except over ssh with Putty. Putty only updates every 3 minutes or if a line ends with \n. Is this a Putty setting, sshd_config, or can I code around it?

  • Multi valued profile property mapping to AD in Sharepoint

    - by keeno
    I'm trying to map my skills and responsibilities profile sections to one of the custom properties in Active Directory (extensionattribute1 , 2, etc). I'm entering comma seperated values in AD and it's importing the values fine but sees the comma seperated values as one value on import. i.e. 'C#,asp.net,javascript' rather than 'C#', 'asp.net', 'Javascript'. Any ideas. I'm almost there it's just not spliting the values correctly on import. thanks in Advance

  • Searching for duplicate records within a text file where the duplicate is determined by only two fie

    - by plg
    First, Python Newbie; be patient/kind. Next, once a month I receive a large text file (think 7 Million records) to test for duplicate values. This is catalog information. I get 7 fields, but the two I'm interested in are a supplier code and a full orderable part number. To determine if the record is dupliacted, I compress all special characters from the part number (except . and #) and create a compressed part number. The test for duplicates becomes the supplier code and compressed part number combination. This part is fairly straight forward. Currently, I am just copying the original file with 2 new columns (compressed part and duplicate indicator). If the part is a duplicate, I put a "YES" in the last field. Now that this is done, I want to be able to go back (or better yet, at the same time) to get the previous record where there was a supplier code/compressed part number match. So far, my code looks like this: Compress Full Part to a Compressed Part and Check for Duplicates on Supplier Code and Compressed Part combination import sys import re import time ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ start=time.time() try: file1 = open("C:\Accounting\May Accounting\May.txt", "r") except IOError: print sys.stderr, "Cannot Open Read File" sys.exit(1) try: file2 = open(file1.name[0:len(file1.name)-4] + "_" + "COMPRESSPN.txt", "a") except IOError: print sys.stderr, "Cannot Open Write File" sys.exit(1) hdrList="CIGSUPPLIER|FULL_PART|PART_STATUS|ALIAS_FLAG|ACQUISITION_FLAG|COMPRESSED_PART|DUPLICATE_INDICATOR" file2.write(hdrList+chr(10)) lines_seen=set() affirm="YES" records = file1.readlines() for record in records: fields = record.split(chr(124)) if fields[0]=="CIGSupplier": continue #If incoming file has a header line, skip it file2.write(fields[0]+"|"), #Supplier Code file2.write(fields[1]+"|"), #Full_Part file2.write(fields[2]+"|"), #Part Status file2.write(fields[3]+"|"), #Alias Flag file2.write(re.sub("[$\r\n]", "", fields[4])+"|"), #Acquisition Flag file2.write(re.sub("[^0-9a-zA-Z.#]", "", fields[1])+"|"), #Compressed_Part dupechk=fields[0]+"|"+re.sub("[^0-9a-zA-Z.#]", "", fields[1]) if dupechk not in lines_seen: file2.write(chr(10)) lines_seen.add(dupechk) else: file2.write(affirm+chr(10)) print "it took", time.time() - start, "seconds." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ file2.close() file1.close() It runs in less than 6 minutes, so I am happy with this part, even if it is not elegant. Right now, when I get my results, I import the results into Access and do a self join to locate the duplicates. Loading/querying/exporting results in Access a file this size takes around an hour, so I would like to be able to export the matched duplicates to another text file or an Excel file. Confusing enough? Thanks.

  • How to pickle and unpickle objects with self-references and from a class with slots?

    - by EOL
    Is it possible to pickle an object from a class with slots, when this object references itself through one of its attributes? Here is a simple example: import weakref import pickle class my_class(object): __slots__ = ('an_int', 'ref_to_self', '__weakref__') def __init__(self): self.an_int = 42 self.ref_to_self = weakref.WeakKeyDictionary({self: 1}) # __getstate__ and __setstate__ not defined: how should this be done? if __name__ == '__main__': obj = my_class() # How to make the following work? obj_pickled = pickle.dumps(obj) obj_unpickled = pickle.loads(obj_pickled) # Self-references should be kept: print "OK?", obj_unpickled == obj_unpickled.ref_to_self.keys()[0]

  • Project in Eclipse contains only a .project file

    - by demenzia
    I have several projects in Perforce that I need to maintain in Eclipse. I did a successful import the first time, but I've since removed all projects from the workspace and deleted the Perforce files from the P4 folder. I'm not very familiar with Perforce so I'm not sure why whenever I try to re-import those projects, all I get is a .project file instead of the whole package. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Problem in understanding connectSlotsByName() in pyqt???

    - by Jebagnanadas
    Hi all, I couldn't understand the connectSlotsByName() method which is predominently used by pyuic4.. As far the class is single in a PyQt file it's ok since we can use self which will be associated with a single object throughout.. But when we try to use various classes from different files the problem and the need to use connectSlotsByName() arises.. Here's what i encountered which is weird.. I created a stacked widget.. I placed my first widget on it.. It has a button called "Next ". On clicking next it hides the current widget and adds another widget which has the "click me" button.. The problem here is the click event for "click me" button in second is not captured.. It's a minimal example that i can give for my original problem.. Please help me.. This is file No.1..(which has the parent stacked widget and it's first page). On clicking next it adds the second page which has "clickme" button in file2.. from PyQt4 import QtCore, QtGui import file2 class Ui_StackedWidget(QtGui.QStackedWidget): def __init__(self,parent=None): QtGui.QStackedWidget.__init__(self,parent) self.setObjectName("self") self.resize(484, 370) self.setWindowTitle(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "stacked widget", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.createWidget1() def createWidget1(self): self.page=QtGui.QWidget() self.page.setObjectName("widget1") self.pushButton=QtGui.QPushButton(self.page) self.pushButton.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(150, 230, 91, 31)) self.pushButton.setText(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "Next >", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.addWidget(self.page) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.pushButton,QtCore.SIGNAL('clicked()'),self.showWidget2) def showWidget2(self): self.page.hide() obj=file2.widget2() obj.createWidget2(self) if __name__ == "__main__": import sys app = QtGui.QApplication(sys.argv) ui = Ui_StackedWidget() ui.show() sys.exit(app.exec_()) Here's file2 from PyQt4 import QtGui,QtCore class widget2(): def createWidget2(self,parent): self.page = QtGui.QWidget() self.page.setObjectName("page") self.parent=parent self.groupBox = QtGui.QGroupBox(self.page) self.groupBox.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(30, 20, 421, 311)) self.groupBox.setObjectName("groupBox") self.groupBox.setTitle(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "TestGroupBox", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.pushButton = QtGui.QPushButton(self.groupBox) self.pushButton.setGeometry(QtCore.QRect(150, 120, 92, 28)) self.pushButton.setObjectName("pushButton") self.pushButton.setText(QtGui.QApplication.translate("self", "Click Me", None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8)) self.parent.addWidget(self.page) self.parent.setCurrentWidget(self.page) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) QtCore.QObject.connect(self.pushButton,QtCore.SIGNAL('clicked()'),self.printMessage) def printMessage(self): print("Hai") Though in both the widgets(i mean pages) QtCore.QMetaObject.connectSlotsByName(self.page) the clicked signal in second dialog isn't getting processed. Thanks in advance.. Might be a beginner question..

  • java: useful example of a shutdown hook?

    - by Jason S
    I'm trying to make sure my Java application takes reasonable steps to be robust, and part of that involves shutting down gracefully. I am reading about shutdown hooks and I don't actually get how to make use of them in practice. Is there a practical example out there? Let's say I had a really simple application like this one below, which writes numbers to a file, 10 to a line, in batches of 100, and I want to make sure a given batch finishes if the program is interrupted. I get how to register a shutdown hook but I have no idea how to integrate that into my application. Any suggestions? package com.example.test.concurrency; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileNotFoundException; import java.io.FileOutputStream; import java.io.PrintWriter; public class GracefulShutdownTest1 { final private int N; final private File f; public GracefulShutdownTest1(File f, int N) { this.f=f; this.N = N; } public void run() { PrintWriter pw = null; try { FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(this.f); pw = new PrintWriter(fos); for (int i = 0; i < N; ++i) writeBatch(pw, i); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { pw.close(); } } private void writeBatch(PrintWriter pw, int i) { for (int j = 0; j < 100; ++j) { int k = i*100+j; pw.write(Integer.toString(k)); if ((j+1)%10 == 0) pw.write('\n'); else pw.write(' '); } } static public void main(String[] args) { if (args.length < 2) { System.out.println("args = [file] [N] " +"where file = output filename, N=batch count"); } else { new GracefulShutdownTest1( new File(args[0]), Integer.parseInt(args[1]) ).run(); } } }

  • How to iterate a list inside a list in java?

    - by user2142786
    Hi i have two value object classes . package org.array; import java.util.List; public class Father { private String name; private int age ; private List<Children> Childrens; public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } public int getAge() { return age; } public void setAge(int age) { this.age = age; } public List<Children> getChildrens() { return Childrens; } public void setChildrens(List<Children> childrens) { Childrens = childrens; } } second is for children package org.array; public class Children { private String name; private int age ; public String getName() { return name; } public void setName(String name) { this.name = name; } public int getAge() { return age; } public void setAge(int age) { this.age = age; } } and i want to print there value i nested a list inside a list here i am putting only a single value inside the objects while in real i have many values . so i am nesting list of children inside father list. how can i print or get the value of child and father both. here is my logic. package org.array; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Iterator; import java.util.List; public class ArrayDemo { public static void main(String[] args) { List <Father> fatherList = new ArrayList<Father>(); Father father = new Father(); father.setName("john"); father.setAge(25); fatherList.add(father); List <Children> childrens = new ArrayList<Children>(); Children children = new Children(); children.setName("david"); children.setAge(2); childrens.add(children); father.setChildrens(childrens); fatherList.add(father); Iterator<Father> iterator = fatherList.iterator(); while (iterator.hasNext()) { System.out.println(iterator.toString()); } } }
