  • Table-Valued Parameter in Stored Procedure and the Entity Framework 4.0

    Hi there, I have a stored procedure called 'GetPrices' with a Table-Valued Parameter called 'StoreIDs' and I would like to call it from my Entity Framework. But when I try to add the Stored Procedure to the EDM, i get the following error: The function 'GetPrices' has a parameter 'StoreIDs' at parameter index 2 that has a data type 'table type' which is not supported. The function was excluded. Is there any workaround this? Any thoughts? Fabio

  • Different controllers with the same name in two different areas results in a routing conflict

    I have two areas: ControlPanel and Patients. Both have a controller called ProblemsController that are similar in name only. The desired results would be routes that yield /controlpanel/problems = MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController and /patients/problems = MyApp.Areas.Patients.Controllers.ProblemsController. Each has routes configured like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "**Area Name Here**_default", "**Area Name Here**/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } where **Area Name Here** is either ControlPanel or Patients. When I go to /patients/problems/create (for example), I get a 404 where the routing error says: A public action method 'create' was not found on controller 'MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  • Using jQuery to load Telerik MVC scripts.

    I'm busy building my first MVC app that uses the Telerik MVC components. Their docs specify that the ScriptRegistrar helper be called right at the bottom of a view, e.g. "at the end of the master page.". I assume this renders a script block that must only run when the page has loaded. I normally prefer to achieve this using jQuery, and keep all my script related stuff at the top of my master page, preferably in the <head> tag. Is there anything I can do to achieve this with the Telerik components and do away with the lone and forgotten helper call at the bottom of my master page?

  • MSDTC and Multiple Databases with Entity Framework.

    In my code I'm attempting to use a transaction using TransactionScope with Entity Framework. While in this transaction we are opening a regular SQL connection to a seperate server and database. When the conn.Open() is called we get an Error: "Network access for Distributed Transaction Manager (MSDTC) has been disabled. Please enable DTC for network access in the security configuration for MSDTC using the Componet Services Administrative tool." However, MSDTC is enabled and running on the Server.

  • C# integer primary key generation using Entity Framework with local database file (Sdf)

    Hello, I'm writing a standalone application and I thought using Entity Framework to store my data. At the moment the application is small so I can use a local database file to get started. The thing is that the local database file doesn't have the ability to auto generate integer primary keys as SQL Server does. Any suggestions how to manage primary keys for entities in a local database file that will be compatible with SQL Server in the future? Thanks, Ronny

  • Built in method to encode ampersands in urls returned from Url.Action?

    I am using Url.Action to generate a URL with two query parameters on a site that has a doctype of XHTML strict. Url.Action("ActionName", "ControllerName", new { paramA="1" paramB="2" }) generates: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&paramB=2 but I need it to generate the url with the ampersand escaped: /ControllerName/ActionName/?paramA=1&amp;paramB=2 The fact that Url.Action is returning the URL with the ampersand not escaped breaks my HTML validation. My current solution is to just manually replace ampersand in the URL returned from Url.Action with an escaped ampersand. Is there a built in or better solution to this problem?

Currently, my site is written using the Zend Framework so it's not just a case of using Wordpress and that be the end of it. I was wondering.     After googling for a while I'm still drawing a blank here. I'm trying to use a ViewModel to pull and provide a dictionary to a drop down list inside a strongly typed View: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Notebook.ViewModels.CorporationJoinViewModel" %> ... <%: Html.DropDownListFor(c => c.CorpDictionary.Keys, new SelectList(Model.CorpDictionary, "Value", "Key"))%> I'm getting the error CS1061: 'object' does not contain a definition for 'CorpDictionary' and no extension method 'CorpDictionary' accepting a first argument of type 'object' could be found and the relevant bit of my ViewModel public class CorporationJoinViewModel { DB _db = new DB(); // data context public Dictionary<int, string> CorpDictionary { get { Dictionary<int, string> corporations = new Dictionary<int, string>(); int x = 0; foreach (Corporation corp in _db.Corporations) { corporations.Add(x, corp.name); } return corporations; } } I'll admit i have a pretty magical understanding of how linq is finding my ViewModel object from that lambda, and the error message is making me think it's not. Is my problem the method I'm using to pass the data? What am I missing here?

  • Extending the RoleProvider GetRolesForUser()

    The GetRolesForUser() method in the RoleProvider takes the user login name and returns the list of roles for that user. But in my application this is not enough, I need a few more pieces of information to be able to get the user's roles. How can I get this extra information into the method? I have it in the Session, but I found out that Session is not available in the RoleProvider. What I had in mind was putting this extra info in some class that extends MembershipUser, assuming I can get to it inside the RoleProvider. But I don't know how to create the CustomMembershipUser and make it part of the MembershipProvider. Is this even possible? The easy way out would be using cookies, but I'm trying to keep away from it.

  • MVC Site - Ensuring the default entry view is always correct

    I have a MVC site with AD authorization. This is all working fine. I publish the site to the webserver and call the site directly (http://intranet). If I have not logged in for a while (I have an authorised cookie with a 30 minute TTL), I am prompted to log-in and if successful I am redirected to the homeController's index view. This is great and as expected. If I keep the session open (browser open) and browse away from the site, if I then browse back to http://intranet, I am not challenged as I have recently authenticated but the default page is from a different controller and not the home page view. How can I stop this from happening? It cannot be a session setting as this is not a new session and the routes appear correct - they are not beng called at this point anyhow. Please MVC guru's advise....!

  • What Date Format Should I Send When Using Oracle.DataAcess.

    Converting from usind Micorsofts Syste.Data.OracleClient to what I believe is called Oracles ODT (Oracle.DataAccess 10.2.0.100). When I try and send a date I get this error "ORA-1858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected".
