    Hi all, I'm creating a pdf file using BIRT reporting library. Later I need to digitally sign these files. I'm using iText to digitally sign the document. The issue I'm facing is, I need to place the signature in different places in different reports. I already have the code to digitally sign the document, now I'm always placing the signature at the bottom of last page in every report. Eventually I need each report to say where I need to place the signature. Then I've to read the location using iText and then place the signature at that location. Is this possible to achieve using BIRT and iText Thanks

    I have a .Net webserivce that accepts XML in string format. XML String sent into the webserivce can represent any Object in the system. I need to check the first node to figure out what object to deserialize the XML string. For this I will have to load the XML into an XMLDocument (Don't want to use RegEx or string compare). I am wondering if there is a way to Deserialize the XMLDocument/XMLNode rather that deserializing the string to save some performance? Is there going to be any performance benefit serializing the XMLNode rather that the string?   • Feature element repeatedly added with every feature activation/deactivation

    This is a very minor behavior when compared with the entire scope, but it is one that I'd like to put a stop to. I have created a very, very simple SharePoint Feature. It has two elements in its manifest: an aspx webpart page, and an elements xml. I'll paraphrase my elements xml, which just adds a module, below. <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/"> <Module Name="Pass" Url="" Path=""> <File Url="pasq.aspx" NavBarHome="True" Type="Ghostable"> <AllUsersWebPart WebPartZoneID="Left" WebPartOrder="0"> <![CDATA[ WARGH THIS PART DOESN'T MATTER FOR THIS QUESTION! ]]> </AllUsersWebPart> </File> </Module> </Elements> Now, on the first time I deploy and activate this feature, it works properly. But if I have to deactivate and then reactivate the feature in order to fix some properties in the webpart, then I find myself with a second webpart on the page. Naturally, each similar cycle will just add more and more. I understand that a new webpart must be created in order to employ the changes I just made, but why is the old webpart still on the page? Can I make this older webpart go away automatically as part of the feature activation/deactivation process without needing to employ a Receiver class?

  • Making an svg image object clickable with onclick, avoiding absolute positioning

    I have tried to change the images on my site from to svg, changing img tags to embed and object tags(standard procedure, i think). But, implementing the onclick function, which previously was contained in the img tag is proving most difficult. I found onclick had no effect when placed inside the object or embed tag. So, I made a div exclusively for the svg, and placed onclick in this div tag. But, no effect unless visitor clicks on the edges/padding of the image. I have read about overlaying a div, but am trying to avoid using absolute positioning, or specifying positions at all. Maybe there's a way to do it without specifying postions? Or maybe theres another way to apply onclick to a svg. Has anyone encountered this problem? Questions and suggestions are welcome.

  • Actionscript/Flex - Is it possible to dynamically extend an object, modify functions, add functions

    I know this question might be frowned upon, but actionscript is a dynamic language similar to javascript and in javascript I can take an object from a library written by someone else and dynamically (at runtime) add/remove/modify functions, properties, prototypes etc. this is kind of like dynamically extending an object to make it work with the library it came with as well as another library. Is something like this possible in flex actionscript? I'm thinking it is only possible with classes that are declared 'dynamic' and definitely not possible with classes declared 'final'. What are your thoughts? Any ideas/tricks?

  • Correct way to load image into UIWebView from NSData object

    I have downloaded a gif image into an NSData object (I've checked the contents of the NSData object and it's definitely populated). Now I want to load that image into my UIWebView. I've tried the following: [webView loadData:imageData MIMEType:@"image/gif" textEncodingName:nil baseURL:nil]; but I get a blank UIWebView. Loading the image from the same URL directly works fine: NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:imageUrl]]; [imageView loadRequest:request]; Do I need to set the textEncodingName to something, or am I doing something else wrong? I want to load the image manually so I can report progress to the user, but it's an animated gif, so when it's done I want to show it in a UIWebView. Edit: Perhaps I need to wrap my image in HTML somehow? Is there a way to do this without having to save it to disk?

  • Python Tkinter - Edit external object within event handler?

    Hey all, As the title says, I'm grabbing the cursor location within a motion triggered event handler in Tkinter. I'd like to update an existing label widget with the location, however I cannot for the life of me figure out how to edit the label's text field (or any external object for that matter) within the event handler. From what I understand, event is the only argument passed to the handler, which means I can't pass the label object. How do I access objects outside of the handler? Apologize for the noobish question as I'm a C programmer new to Python. Thanks!

    I'm trying to download an html file with curl in bash. When I download it manually, it works fine. However, when i try and run my script through crontab, the output html file is very small and just says "Object moved to here." with a broken link. Does this have something to do with the sparse environment the crontab commands run it? I found this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1279340/php-ssl-curl-object-moved-error but i'm using bash, not php. What are the equivalent command line options or variables to set to fix this problem in bash? (I want to do this with curl, not wget)

    Hi all: I got stuck in this problem for an hour. I am thinking this is something relates to variable scoping ? I can see Firebug console outputs the route ids with no problem at all.     Hi I've been trying to figure out how to put something like Joe's Fruits into a PHP array something like this: <?php $arr = array( 'Fruitland' => '3ddlskdf3', 'Joe's Fruits' => 'dddfdfer3', ); ?> Using the above for example (stackoverflow's code color should tell you this by now), the array will take it as 'Joe' between the two apostrophes instead of the whole 'Joe's Fruits' is there any way I can do this without just calling it 'Joes Fruits'?

    Hi there, I have a draggable list (.field) where you can drag & drop items from it into a sortable list (.sortlist). I did it this way because I didn't want the master list (.field) altered in any way. It works fine, except I cannot work out how to manipulate the dropped field in a sortable list. I can do it from a draggable into a droppable area by using the following in a function for 'drop:' in droppable(): $(this).append('html code here to change content of dragged field'); However this doesn't work inside a sortable(). My code looks like this: $(".sortlist").sortable({ receive: function(event, ui) { var dropElemTxt = $(ui.item).text(); var dropElemId = $(ui.item).attr('id'); $(ui.item).replaceWith('<li class="box" id="'+dropElemId+'">Updated field! '+dropElemTxt+'</li>'); } }); $(ui.item).replaceWith changes the master field that was being dragged, so this doesn't work. And I tried $(this).replaceWith, but that updates the sortable area (.sortlist). Any idea what code I need to reference the dragged item? Many thanks, Ali.

    I am trying to select nodes except from script nodes and a ul that has a class called 'relativeNav'. Can someone please direct me to the right path? I have been searching for this for a week and I can't find it anywhere. Currently I have this but it obviously selecting the //ul[@class='relativeNav'] as well.   • No "Terminal Services" branch in "Group Policy Object Editor"

    Hi, We have several identical several servers in a hosting company. They run Windows 2003 R2 Std SP2 64bit. The servers are not in a domain. We have recently received a new server with the same configuration and hardware. However, the new server is different in some way. When we run "gpedit.msc /s" there are much less options in the tree than the other servers. Specifically we are missing the configuration of "Terminal Services". Many other items are missing under "Administrative templates" and "Windows components". I am using something like this: <xsl:apply-templates select="j.0:property"/> <xsl:template match="j.0:property"> <xsl:text><xsl:value-of select="/rdf:RDF/rdf:Description/j.0:propert /@rdf:resource"/></xsl:text> </xsl:template> But then it returns the same value 3 times. The value being the value of the first property encountered. Kindly help as to how I can get the value for each property.

    I have a shared object ( libxyz.so ). Given LD_LIBRARY_PATH, how can find the exact location of this shared object? If i had a binary that depends on this lib, i would have used ldd on that. Here is the reason why i ask: I have a cgi script which works when using LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to say VALUE1. It does not work when the path is set to VALUE2. I would like to find the exact location of the library as specified by the path in VALUE1 ( Note that VALUE1 has almost 20+ different locations ) Platform: Linux
