  I currently have 3 stores online with 3 different domains, running magento with Apache and varnish (using Phoenix page cache extension) running on centos One store is for uk, another for Ireland and another for USA Trouble is (Example) If an US user hits the uk store , I would like the user to be notified to go to the correct store on the page, (I do not want them automatically redirected) I was able to php-pecl-geoip with maxmind database to get this to work, but as users on my website have increased I had to begin using varnish. how could I implement this functionality on with varnish so I know what country the user is from so I can display a message to the user to view their relevant website?

• Mac OSX Server: svn via ssh command line and encrypted passwords.

  Hi all. When I log into our mac mini server running OSX 10.6 via ssh and use svn I get the message: ATTENTION! Your password for authentication realm: can only be stored to disk unencrypted! You are advised to configure your system so that Subversion can store passwords encrypted, if possible. See the documentation for details. You can avoid future appearances of this warning by setting the value of the 'store-plaintext-passwords' option to either 'yes' or 'no' in '/Users/xxxxxxxx/.subversion/servers'. I dont' want to store the password unencrypted though. I've found some details on how to use GNOME keychain in linux to sort this, but nothing on how to use macosx's keychain. Anyone got any ideas? • Websphere SSL handshake with active directory cluster

  We have a WebSphere based application that uses Active Directory(AD) based security configurations. Under WebSphere "Global security" we have configured the active directory server and connection parameters. Active directory server is actually a cluster of four servers, say, serverdc01, serverdc02,serverdc03 and serverdc04. Each of these servers have their own root certificate with CN=serverdc01, CN=serverdc02 ..so on. So to set up SSL communication, I need to retrieve certificate of active directory and save it in WebSphere's trust store. When I retrieve certificate by putting AD server name, port and retrieve certificate I randomly get certificate of one of the serverdc01,serverdc02 ... Then I save that certificate to trust store. Question is : Do I have to save certificate from each of the serverdc01,serverdc02 ...in cluster to WebSphere's trust store? What are general strategies so that each server in the cluster does not require its own root certificate?

• SkyDrive doesn't sync in Windows 8.1

  After upgrading from Windows 8 Pro to 8.1, I moved many files to the integrated SkyDrive directory. Everything worked just fine, until recently, where SkyDrive has simply refused to sync. The only exceptions are Office documents, which are synced via another mechanism. When I add files to the SkyDrive redirectory, they show up as Pending in the metro app indefinitely. When I try to make them online only I get the following error: Sorry, the action couldn't be completed because the file hasn't finished uploading. Try again later. Of course, the files do not show up online. When I go the other way, and try to upload files online, they are also not synced to my local SkyDrive directory.

• Author Tools for Classroom Material?

  I'm interested in putting a whole bunch of classroom material online. This material ranges from accounting classes to yoga. I would like to find a simple to use authoring tool that the people who teach the classes can use to put the material online. In other words, I do not want a tool that requires a developer. A person who knows the subject matter and is willing to read the manual should be able to put their material online. At minimum, this tool should allow for text and multi-media to be chained together in a logical form and it should allow quizzes to be created and graded. Even better would be for the tool to have some "smarts" so that subject areas which the student does not understand can be drilled. Even better would be for the tool to have ecommerce built in so that the instructors can charge for the classes. Are there any such tools?

• I can't launch any Win8 apps after upgrading to Windows 8.1

  I just upgraded to 8.1 and now none of the Metro apps start. The issue is that if I start any metro app, including the Store and PC Settings they immediately fail. The classic desktop is fine, as are standard programs, it's just the metro apps. If I look in the system event log I see errors like this: *Activation of application winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Windows.Store failed with error: This application does not support the contract specified or is not installed. See the Microsoft-Windows-TWinUI/Operational log for additional information.* In addition the tiles in metro have a small cross icon on them: I suspect that my Live ID (which I somehow managed to skip during update) is not set properly and consequently none of the online stuff works. But how do I fix this? I can't start PC settings, I can't start store. I see no way in the classic desktop of setting these things. I don't want to have to reinstall for this. Is there a simple fix?

  I have one PC running iTunes, my iPhone, and one iPod for each of three kids. Ideally I would like the iPhone to use my iCloud account and each iPod to use an iCloud account specific to each kid. Enter the Apple ID you want to use for Store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) in iTunes iTunes Store. would require that all iOS devices share the same iCloud account if they use iTunes on the same PC. Short of having one PC per family member, is there a method to use different iCloud accounts on each iOS device?

• Rail's FileStore with Linux Disk Caching or RAMdisk?

  I have a Ruby on Rails application that stores it's catched files on the filesystem (Rails file-system cache). I was thinking about changing to memcached Store, but a short test shows it isn't a big difference in speed. From linuxatemyram.com I learned a bit about file caching. On the current machine there would be around 40..45GB RAM left which isn't needed for the application and which can be used to linux-disk-cache this rails file cache store. The disk is a RAID10 system with almost 120MB disk perfomance. How can I tell Linux to use free RAM more deliberately and not to be shy about using it? Do think it's necessary to adjust a sysyctl/.. value here, or would I have performance advantages to put the File Store root diretory on a ramdisk? (Loosing the cache during a reboot wouldn't be a problem)

• Forcing the from address when postfix relays over smtp

  I'm trying to get email reports from our AWS EC2 instances. We're using Exchange Online (part of Microsoft Online Services). I've setup a user account specifically for SMTP relaying, and I've setup Postfix to meet all the requirements to relay messages through this server. However, Exchange Online's SMTP server will reject messages unless the From address exactly matches the authentication address (the error message is 550 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender). With careful configuration, I can setup my services to send as this user. But I'm not a huge fan of being careful - I'd rather have postfix force the issue. Is there a way to do this?

• How do I set up multiple Magento sites from the same domain?

  I have a Magento installation with two sites, each with a shop and a view. I have an EU store in one site and a NON-EU store in the other. Both sites use a different currency. At present both of these websites are located on the same domain. I have been able to switch between stores using cookies but this seems to cause an inherit amount of problems. Every time a user creates an account on the non-default shop they get a blank error message. They also get a blank error message when they log in. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I need to use a different currency for each store but they all need to be on the same domain.

• backup, sync and search files over internet and intranet

  There are many online backup options out there. Dropbox, Sugarsync, Mozy, Carbonite, Jungledisk and my favorite so far, Crashplan. Some of them allow searching, all of them sync with their online servers, none of those (or many many others I didn't listed here) have what I want. I'm _not_ looking for an online backup service in here. Sure, some people might say "use rsync", "linux" and/or "set up apache" and so on... But that's just too much for maintenance, if it's even viable of building up. It needs to be simple. So, anyone knows of a really good solution out there? Picture mostly Google Desktop Search (or quick search) awesome searching, mixed with Crashplan Desktop, which is able to do everything by itself, and something like Dropbox's file versioning, along with dropbox the ability to seamless sync over intranet and internet like crashplan, switching between them when needed. I bet there's nothing like this yet, but well, I'm not sure. It would be great!

• Setting a mapped drive in Virtual hosts causes apache to not start

  I´m trying to set a virtual host on my windows 7 machine. The folder I want to point to is located on a centOS machine and the folder path is Z:\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site. But something strange happens when I set the document root like this: DocumentRoot "Z:\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site" Apache do not restarts after that. When I take a look at the log, there is an error pointing to that line, where I added the path to the folder: Syntax error on line 48 of C:/Program Files/Zend/Apache2/conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf: DocumentRoot must be a directory. There must be a way to make it work like this, by setting an Apache Installation on a machine and pointing it to a folder located on another computer, right? My hosts file is set like this: 172.17.10.1\Data\Websites\Online\MyClient\Site MyClient.local ANY HELP would be VERY appreciated.

• USB flash drive showing empty but half of the capacity is in Used

  Not sure if I should post my question in superuser, but it looks like the most appropriate place among all StackExchange sites. I have a 16GB Kingston DataTraveler USB drive. When I tried to use it this morning, it showed up nothing in there but yet its details showed that half of the capacity was in used. I tried it with OS X, Ubuntu, and Windows 7 and the results were the same. I tried to create a new folder and it worked. Apparently, the drive is working but somehow not showing my previously stored data. Note that I was still using the drive last night and there wasn't any problems. Following @rob's suggestion, du -h gave me: 16K ./.Trashes 960K ./.Spotlight-V100/Store-V1/Stores/2620683B-A38B-42F4-A247-45CAF4826ADE 976K ./.Spotlight-V100/Store-V1/Stores 1008K ./.Spotlight-V100/Store-V1 1.0M ./.Spotlight-V100 1.1M And, df -h gave me: /dev/sdb1 15G 7.9G 7.1G 53% /media/KINGSTON Confirming what I reported. Anyone got a clue/answer to this issue? Thanks.

• Exchange 2010: Import a PST when Local Move Request fails

  So the trail of tears continues with my SBS 2003 to 2011 migration: all the mailboxes have moved mailbox store from OLDSERVER to NEWSERVER, with the Local Move Requests completing successfully, except for one. I've logged into their machine and have exported their mailbox as a PST. I'm about to import it, but it seems to me that because the mailbox is still on OLDSERVER, even with a new Outlook profile pointing to NEWSERVER in Outlook, it'll push the mail into the current mailbox store on the old server. Please tell me I don't have to blow away her existing mailbox, logon, etc. on the old SBSERVER: is there a way to change the state from "Legacy" to "User Mailbox" without actually moving the mailbox store? Create a new mailbox for her user in NEWSERVER?

EDIT: now i noticed that i could use something called xml database to store xml data. could someone shed a light on this issue? cause apparently its not as simple as just store data in a xml file?

  Does LearnDevNow offers a useful subscription for .NET video and text reference training material or to learn .NET? I could not find a review of www.learnnowonline.com/learndevnow I've been doing research about places that offer .NET / ASP.NET / C# / LINQ / SQL / JQuery video training that provide excellent material for developers. Kind of like a Lynda.com for back end development. However, I have not find one place that offers quality material that is easily accessible for the user, and that is priced competitive. This is what I'm looking for: Online Video tutorials with free future updates (videos that can be accessed on any device ie: android portable devices, mac / ipad, linux machines) Printable courseware (ie PDFs so that you can take notes, print if necessary, and read in a tablet in case you don;t have internet access) labs, and easy to access code Pre/Post Assessments/Exams for each training to keep track of your progress and what you have learned/skills. (Appdev used to offer this but it was way too expensive (thousands for each training ie 1k for each. I paid about five thousand at Appdev, and now I regret that purchase), and after a few years/months the training became obsolete - outdated) I looked at learnnowonline.com/learndevnow but it seems that their courseware / text reference material can only be accessed online, and don't know if their videos work in all mobile devices, and browsers (Safari, Chrome, IE, Opera, Firefox) Also, it seems Appdev not longer exist and now is called " AppDev is now LearnNowPlus : www.learnnowonline.com/appdev That site not longer offers prices. I tried to find reviews but could not find any. Does anyone know, or can share a review about some of these type of online training service providers? I would appreciate your feedback on this, and if you can share your past experiences with their service or similar/better services that would even be better. Thanks.

• Move Files from a Failing PC with an Ubuntu Live CD

  You’ve loaded the Ubuntu Live CD to salvage files from a failing system, but where do you store the recovered files? We’ll show you how to store them on external drives, drives on the same PC, a Windows home network, and other locations. We’ve shown you how to recover data like a forensics expert, but you can’t store recovered files back on your failed hard drive! There are lots of ways to transfer the files you access from an Ubuntu Live CD to a place that a stable Windows machine can access them. We’ll go through several methods, starting each section from the Ubuntu desktop – if you don’t yet have an Ubuntu Live CD, follow our guide to creating a bootable USB flash drive, and then our instructions for booting into Ubuntu. If your BIOS doesn’t let you boot using a USB flash drive, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Use a Healthy Hard Drive If your computer has more than one hard drive, or your hard drive is healthy and you’re in Ubuntu for non-recovery reasons, then accessing your hard drive is easy as pie, even if the hard drive is formatted for Windows. To access a hard drive, it must first be mounted. To mount a healthy hard drive, you just have to select it from the Places menu at the top-left of the screen. You will have to identify your hard drive by its size. Clicking on the appropriate hard drive mounts it, and opens it in a file browser. You can now move files to this hard drive by drag-and-drop or copy-and-paste, both of which are done the same way they’re done in Windows. Once a hard drive, or other external storage device, is mounted, it will show up in the /media directory. To see a list of currently mounted storage devices, navigate to /media by clicking on File System in a File Browser window, and then double-clicking on the media folder. Right now, our media folder contains links to the hard drive, which Ubuntu has assigned a terribly uninformative label, and the PLoP Boot Manager CD that is currently in the CD-ROM drive. Connect a USB Hard Drive or Flash Drive An external USB hard drive gives you the advantage of portability, and is still large enough to store an entire hard disk dump, if need be. Flash drives are also very quick and easy to connect, though they are limited in how much they can store. When you plug a USB hard drive or flash drive in, Ubuntu should automatically detect it and mount it. It may even open it in a File Browser automatically. Since it’s been mounted, you will also see it show up on the desktop, and in the /media folder. Once it’s been mounted, you can access it and store files on it like you would any other folder in Ubuntu. If, for whatever reason, it doesn’t mount automatically, click on Places in the top-left of your screen and select your USB device. If it does not show up in the Places list, then you may need to format your USB drive. To properly remove the USB drive when you’re done moving files, right click on the desktop icon or the folder in /media and select Safely Remove Drive. If you’re not given that option, then Eject or Unmount will effectively do the same thing. Connect to a Windows PC on your Local Network If you have another PC or a laptop connected through the same router (wired or wireless) then you can transfer files over the network relatively quickly. To do this, we will share one or more folders from the machine booted up with the Ubuntu Live CD over the network, letting our Windows PC grab the files contained in that folder. As an example, we’re going to share a folder on the desktop called ToShare. Right-click on the folder you want to share, and click Sharing Options. A Folder Sharing window will pop up. Check the box labeled Share this folder. A window will pop up about the sharing service. Click the Install service button. Some files will be downloaded, and then installed. When they’re done installing, you’ll be appropriately notified. You will be prompted to restart your session. Don’t worry, this won’t actually log you out, so go ahead and press the Restart session button. The Folder Sharing window returns, with Share this folder now checked. Edit the Share name if you’d like, and add checkmarks in the two checkboxes below the text fields. Click Create Share. Nautilus will ask your permission to add some permissions to the folder you want to share. Allow it to Add the permissions automatically. The folder is now shared, as evidenced by the new arrows above the folder’s icon. At this point, you are done with the Ubuntu machine. Head to your Windows PC, and open up Windows Explorer. Click on Network in the list on the left, and you should see a machine called UBUNTU in the right pane. Note: This example is shown in Windows 7; the same steps should work for Windows XP and Vista, but we have not tested them. Double-click on UBUNTU, and you will see the folder you shared earlier! As well as any other folders you’ve shared from Ubuntu. Double click on the folder you want to access, and from there, you can move the files from the machine booted with Ubuntu to your Windows PC. Upload to an Online Service There are many services online that will allow you to upload files, either temporarily or permanently. As long as you aren’t transferring an entire hard drive, these services should allow you to transfer your important files from the Ubuntu environment to any other machine with Internet access. We recommend compressing the files that you want to move, both to save a little bit of bandwidth, and to save time clicking on files, as uploading a single file will be much less work than a ton of little files. To compress one or more files or folders, select them, and then right-click on one of the members of the group. Click Compress…. Give the compressed file a suitable name, and then select a compression format. We’re using .zip because we can open it anywhere, and the compression rate is acceptable. Click Create and the compressed file will show up in the location selected in the Compress window. Dropbox If you have a Dropbox account, then you can easily upload files from the Ubuntu environment to Dropbox. There is no explicit limit on the size of file that can be uploaded to Dropbox, though a free account begins with a total limit of 2 GB of files in total. Access your account through Firefox, which can be opened by clicking on the Firefox logo to the right of the System menu at the top of the screen. Once into your account, press the Upload button on top of the main file list. Because Flash is not installed in the Live CD environment, you will have to switch to the basic uploader. However, once the file has been uploaded, it should show up on any computer connected through Dropbox in a matter of minutes. Google Docs Google Docs allows the upload of any type of file – making it an ideal place to upload files that we want to access from another computer. • SQL SERVER – Fix: Error: Compatibility Level Drop Down is Empty

  I currently have SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 both installed on the same machine. My job requires me to travel a lot and I like to travel light. Hence, I have only one computer with all the software installed in it. I can install Virtual Machines but as I was able to install SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2014 side by side, I just went ahead with that option. Now one day when I opened up my SQL Server 2014 and went to the properties of the my database, I realized that the dropdown box for Compatibility level is empty. I just can’t select anything there or see what is the current Compatibility level of the database. This was the first time for me so I was bit confused and I tried to search online. Upon searching online I realize that if I was not the first, there are very few questions on this subject on various forums as well as there is no convincing answer to this problem online. That means, I was pretty much first one to face this error. See the image of the situation I was facing. Now I decided to resolve this issue as soon as I can. I spent a few minutes here and there and realize my mistake. I had connected to SQL Server 2014 instance from SQL Server 2012 Management Studio. Hence, I was not able to see any compatibility related settings. Once I connected to SQL Server 2014 instance with SQL Server 2014 Management Studio – this issue was resolved. • Oracle is a Leader again in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for E-commerce

  Although e-commerce represents only 10% of the typical brick-and-mortar retailer’s sales, that percentage continues to climb.  So it’s no wonder that many retailers are considering the purchase of new e-commerce platforms to provide a commerce experience that keeps customers coming back.  And once again, Oracle and IBM lead the pack, identified as leaders in Gartner’s 2013 Magic Quadrant for E-Commerce along with hybris.  Many retailers are realizing the need to support Commerce Anywhere, allowing customers to interact with brands on their own terms.  Gartner reinforces this trend saying, “E-commerce is moving beyond just an online selling channel to integrated platforms delivering a unified customer experience. Traditionally, most organizations have been investing in the online channels with the objective of driving additional sales. However, customers increasingly are expecting a seamless buying experience across all channels, and e-commerce is a critical part of this evolution since it is a point where other channels are integrating to synchronize the customer experience across channels." Oracle saw this trend coming and acquired ATG, FatWire, and Endeca, all leaders in their respective markets, starting back in 2010.  The assets have been combined as Oracle Commerce and represent a comprehensive solution for retailers to sell via the Web while offering the best customer experience possible.  Retailers like JCPenney, American Apparel, and Kohl’s have recently licensed Oracle Commerce as part of their transformations. In the next two years we’ll begin to see more separation between the retailers that have a Commerce Anywhere strategy, and those that continue to flail with separate channels.  Integrating online and offline commerce, along with mobile and social aspects are becoming crucial to success in the industry.

• Juju Zookeeper & Provisioning Agent Not Deployed

  I am using juju with the openstack provider, i expected that when i bootstrap that zookeeper and provisioning agent would get deployed on the bootstrap vm in openstack. This dose not seem to be the case. the bootstrap vm gets deployed but it seems that nothing gets deployed to the VM. See logs below, I may be missing something, also how is it possible to log on the bootstrap vm. Could I manual deploy, if so what do I need to do.
