• How to access exception/stacktrace in Velocity template resolved by web.xml's error-page?

  I would like to print the cause of the HTTP Error 500 on my Velocity template but am having difficulty figuring out how this can be done. My web.xml is configured with: <error-page> <error-code>500</error-code> <location>/error/500.vm</location> </error-page> My 500.vm page is resolving as expected but how do I access the exception which resulted in this error page? • Not able to pass multiple override parameters using nose-testconfig 0.6 plugin in nosetests

  Hi, I am able to override multiple config parameters using nose-testconfig plugin only if i pass the overriding parameters on commandline. e.g. nosetests -c nose.cfg -s --tc=jack.env1:asl --tc=server2.env2:abc But when I define the same thing inside nose.cfg, than only the value for last parameter is modified. e.g. tc = server2.env2:abc tc = jack.env1:asl I checked the plugin code. It looks fine to me. • How to efficiently replace characters in XML document in Java?

  I'm looking for a neat and efficient way to replace characters in XML document. There is a replacement table defined for almost 12.000 UTF-8 characters, most of them are to be replaced by single characters, but some must be replaced by two or even three characters (e.g. Greek theta should become TH). The documents can be bulky (100MB+). How to do it in Java? I came up with the idea of using XSLT, but I'm not too sure if this is the best option.

  I am currently doing LINQ-to-XML and populating a DataGridView with my query just fine. The trouble I am running into is that once loaded into the DataGridView, the values appear to be Un-editable (ReadOnly). But I couldn't find an explanation why or exactly what to do about it. Any ideas?

• jQuery Address Plugin - Not allowing loading ajax?

  I am trying to test the jQuery Address Plugin and it seems to not allow ajax to work in the change function. I am using: $.address.change(function(event) { $('#content').load(event.value+' #content'); $.address.title(event.value); }); $('a').click(function() { $.address.value($(this).attr('href')); }); While I can use event.value for other things, it just does not seem to let the .load() function work. Even trying a static URL in .load() does nothing. Is something in the plugin preventing this? I thought this was the point of the plugin!

The helpers are not getting loaded too because I just copied the contents of the partial from the plugin instead of the render :partial = and then it came up with a helper error. Question is how to be able to :render :partial = from the views folder in my plugin

This is just like the example at http://iserialized.com/log4net-for-noobs/ which shows: <root> <priority value="ALL" /> <appender-ref ref="LogFileAppender" /> <appender-ref ref="ConsoleAppender"/> </root> However, the log4net configuration examples at http://logging.apache.org/log4net/release/manual/configuration.html always show it using the level element: <root> <level value="DEBUG" /> <appender-ref ref="A1" /> </root> In this type of configuration is <priority> the same as <level> ? Can someone point me to somewhere in the docs where this is explained?

  <input src="LOGO.JPG" type="image" name="imagem"> I have an xml element that contains the image path that needs to be displayed in HTML after the parse. <xsl:value-of select="image"/> returns the string that is stored in the image element but how can I use it to make that string be the src atribute value in an html tag? I tried <input src="<xsl:value-of select="image"/>" type="image" name="imagem"> but obviously that doesn't work so how can it be done? I hope I was clear in my question. Please help!

  This might be a bit of a code smell, but I have seen it is some production code, namely the use of StringBuilder as opposed to XmlDocument when creating XML documents. In some cases these are write once operations (e.g. create the document and save it to disk) where as others are passing the built string to an XmlDocument to preform an XslTransform to a document that is returned to the client. So obvious question: is there merit to doing things this way, is it something that should be done on a case-by-case basis, or is this the wrong way of doing things?

  I've been trying to integrate deploying java .war's in Glassfish V3 through Maven. While I have found a few plugins, none of them look to be very active: Maven Glassfish Plugin Eskato's Wordpress Blog on Maven And I got the most information out of Eskato's Blog, it was written March 2008, so I don't know what the state of Glassfish Maven integration is, nor can I find a suitable plugin to work with. With the Maven Glassfish Plugin I have had some success, but it still doesn't work entirely well for all goals it says it supports, which makes some of the commands ineffective. Has anyone else been able to integrate Glassfish V3 and Maven successfully? If so, what resources did you use to get it done?

  Hi everyone, I know naming conventions for tables used by plugins generally start with the name of the plugin and then the model pluralized. For example lets say I had a plugin called Poll, with a model also called PollPoll and another model called PollTag then the resulting table names would be poll_polls and poll_tags. They would also have a habtm relationship so what is the convention for that table name? I believe it would poll_poll_polls_poll_tags, although it is a little redundant it makes sense since the first poll_ represents the name of the plugin, while poll_polls and poll_tags relates to the models. Also have any naming conventions changed for plugins in 1.3? Is the above stated correct? Thanks!

• A reasonable way to add attributes to an xml root element in C#.

  The function "WriteStartElement" does not return anything. I find this a little bizzare. So up until now I have been doing it like this. XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); XmlTextWriter xmlWriter = new XmlTextWriter(m_targetFilePath, System.Text.Encoding.UTF8); xmlWriter.Formatting = Formatting.Indented; xmlWriter.WriteProcessingInstruction("xml", "version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'"); xmlWriter.WriteStartElement("client"); xmlWriter.Close(); xmlDoc.Load(m_targetFilePath); XmlElement root = xmlDoc.DocumentElement; Saving the doc, then reloading it to get hold of the start element so i can write attributes to it. Does anybody know the correct way of doing this because I'm pretty sure what I'm doing isn't right. I tried to use xmlWriter.AppendChild() but it doesnt seem to write out anything. :(

  I have to parse the XML file and build objects representation based on that, now once I get all these data I create entries in various database for these data objects. I have to do second pass over that for value as in the first pass all I could do is build the assets in various databases. and in second pass I get the values for all the data and put it in the database. I have a feeling that this can be done in a single pass but I just want to see what are your opinions. As I am just a student who started with professional work, experienced ppl please help. Can someone who have ideas or done similar work, please provide some light on the topic so that I can think over the possibility of the work and get the prototype going based on your suggestion. Currently we allow certain users to add sql queries to a database to retrieve customer data, hereby a custom connection string/ provider name must be specified. With this information it's possible to create the connection and obtain the data with c#. However we like to add the possibility to allow that user group to query XML files too, with a certain connection string/ provider name.   On a fresh mac os x 10.8 install, i've Quantum GIS Installed from Kingchaos binaries and running fine. I'm trying to develop a plugin for QGIS, and using Plugin Builder. The skel that Plugin Builder, produces, should work off-the-shelf, but it does not compile using the makefile. Somewhere python can't find (pyuic.py), and it searches for (/Users/kyngchaos/...), path. Although it works, it's awfully messy. How can I prevent this?

I am thinking if this will cause any code collisions to the codes in the validation plugin when more and more javascript files are included.
