  It looks like this has been asked and answered in all the simple cases, excluding the one that I'm having trouble with. I've tried using a recursive CTE to generate this; however maybe a cursor would be better? Or maybe a set of recursive functions will do the trick? Can this be done in a cte? consider the following table PrimaryKey ParentKey 1 NULL 2 1 3 6 4 7 5 2 6 1 7 NULL should yield PK 1 -2 --5 -6 --3 7 -4 where the number of - marks equal the depth, my primary difficulty is the ordering.

• git push hangs and does nothing

  I'm new to git and testing it out. I've been able to clone a friends repository make small local changes and commit. I'd like to now test pushing my local changes to the remote repository but unfortunately when I try to do a push $ git push <my friends remote repository <---- hangs here waiting ..I break out by ctr-c Here is some info showing my current status, $ git remote show origin Fetch URL: git://codaset.com/nickbmarine/nickspix.git Push URL: git://codaset.com/nickbmarine/nickspix.git HEAD branch: master Remote branches: Refactor tracked master tracked Local branch configured for 'git pull': master merges with remote master Local ref configured for 'git push': master pushes to master (fast-forwardable) Any idea's?

I have created v1 like this "let v1 = [| for i in 1.0 .. 10.0 -> 2.0 * i |]" Is it correct?? or should i use v1 like this "let v1 = ref [| for i in 1.0 .. 10.0 -> 2.0 * i |]" ???

• Cannot eliminate canvas page in facebook app.

  Hello, I have set a canvas page, and now, my facebook app page goes to a horrible place: http://apps.facebook.com/hificorder/?ref=ts whereas it is supposed to go to: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=123018831077733 So, set the canvas page to the latter link...right? WRONG....when you do so, it causes an error. Set the canvas page to nothing??? FB does not allow. What do I do??? FYI, when you search for "HiFiCorder" in the normal facebook search, the canvas page is what comes up...this is horrible, please help.

• .NET "Timer" would block other method calls?

  Hi guys: In ASP.NET 3.5, we suspect a delegate triggering by a "Timer" will block other method calls. From logs, some function calls will wait for the finishing of the delegate and continue to work. Is it true? If yes, what workaround can I do? • Alternate to control+drag to connect view element with file owner in xCode interface builder?

  Working on an iPhone application through a TightVNC connection into a Mac Mini; the control+drag operation in Interface Builder to connect a view element to file owner doesn't work - I don't see the connecting line. It does work when I connect keyboard, mouse and monitor to the Mini and work on it directly, however it is a lot more convenient for me to run it through a VNC connection. Must be some quirk of the TightVNC connection that is preventing this. I tried different TightVNC settings for the cursor (let server handle it and so on) but no luck. Is there an alternative to control+drag to hook up outlets?

• CSS menu is flickering when scrolling through it with hover effects

• RegEx - character not before match

  I understand the consepts of RegEx, but this is more or less the first time I've actually been trying to write some myself. As a part of a project, I'm attempting to parse out strings which match to a certain domain (actually an array of domains, but let's keep it simple). At first I started out with this: url.match('www.example.com') But I noticed I was also getting input like this: http://www.someothersite.com/page?ref=http://www.example.com These rows will ofcourse match for www.example.com but I wish to exclude them. So I was thinking along these lines: Only match rows that contain www.example.com, but not after a ? character. This is what I came up with: var reg = new RegExp("[^\\?]*" + url + "(\\.*)", "gi"); This does however not seem to work, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I fear I've used what little knowledge I yet possess in the matter.

There are between one and twenty options for each Name. Without iterating though each option like a cursor, is there any way to pull out a list of objects, one for each unique DDL Name, using Linq and C#? • How to add indexes to MySQL tables?

  I've got a very large MySQL table with about 150,000 rows of data. Currently, when I try and run SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = '1'; the code runs fine as the ID field is the primary index. However, recently for a development in the project, I have to search the database by another field. For example SELECT * FROM table WHERE product_id = '1'; This field was not previously indexed, however, I've added it as an index but when I try to run the above query, the results is very slow. An EXPLAIN query reveals that there is no index for the product_id field when I've already added one and as a result the query takes any where from 20 minutes to 30 minutes to return a single row. • MVC Html.DropDownList closes prematurely in IE7

  I'm using ASP.NET MVC with jquery. I have a couple of dropdownlists. When I select one via mouse click and then scroll down over the items using the mouse/cursor, the list closes before a selection can be made, before the mouse can be clicked. This doesn't happen when I open them and then up/down arrow to select an item. It doesn't happen all of the time, but a lot. Just to try something different, I added a jquery "select" control with hardcoded values (options) and it displays the same behavior. • Does Visual Studio 2010 on x64 crash often? Or is it just on my PC?

  MY VS2010 crashes dozens of times a day. Compare that to 2008 and 2005 which were rock solid. Is 2010 known to be susceptible to crashing? Or could it be my environment? I'm using x64 as a dev box for the first time. The only plugin I has so far is Ankh. It crashes when doing different things. One I've noticed so far that always happens is if I press the key sequence alt-f-s-up (or any cursor key) it will crash every time.

  Profiling some code that heavily uses shared_ptrs, I discovered that reset() was surprisingly expensive. For example: struct Test { int i; Test() { this->i = 0; } Test(int i) { this->i = i; } } ; ... auto t = make_shared<Test>(1); ... t.reset(somePointerToATestObject); Tracing the reset() in the last line (under VC++ 2010), I discovered that it creates a new reference-counting object. Is there a cheaper way, that reuses the existing ref-count and does not bother the heap?

And we want to add a feature where a user can refer others via a custom link e.g.: http://mysite.com/a1t2312 or http://mysite.com/?ref=a1t2312 (a1t231 being the referral code). A user following such a link, will navigate a few pages on the site. And if he reached the 'buy' page and purchases something - the original referrer will get a discount.   In sublime text 2 you can multi select(cursor) lines by holding ctrl+alt+arrow key (up/down). In notepad++ you can accomplish the same thing by holding ctrl and clicking the additional lines(areas) you would like to edit. I figured I could use a autohotkey script to accomplish the same functionality. So I tried #IfWinActive, ahk_class Notepad++ ^!Down::^Click but each time that I try to load the script I get Error at Line 2 Line Text: ^Click Error: This line does not contain a recognized action the program will exit then I tried #IfWinActive, ahk_class Notepad++ ^!Down::send ^Click but that shows up as ETXClick in notepad++ What more do I need to get this script to work only for Notepad++

This syntax only seems to initialize a 1d array as print "$frame_events[1]\n" works. Though perl doesn't give any error during the assignment.

• MySQL: How to consume/discard the result of a query?

  I have a stored procedure which executes an optimize table statement for every table in a DB. Those optimize table statements are prepared statements of course (they have to be built at runtime) and I need to call that procedure from PHP using ext/mysql API. Unfortunately, ext/mysql does't support doing such thing because optimize table returns a result set and in order to handle that, the new mysql protocol is required, which is supported by the "new" ext/mysqli API. Well... there are several things I dont have control over, so it's not in my posibilities to upgrade to ext/mysqli any time soon, nor can I implement the procedure as PHP code rather than sql code. So I thought if it would be possible somehow to consume/discard the result of optimize table inside the stored procedure so that ext/mysql doesn't complain about it. One thing to consider is that since the optimize table statements are prepared statements, you can't use a cursor over them.
