• when i merge a data table with a typed dataset, one single field on a single row is DBNull sometimes

  Hi everybody, I have a strange problem sometimes when I try to merge a data table with a typed dataset my data table is filled in with a stored procedure and when I checked the content of this table it is ok, everything is in there straight after I merge it with my core typed dataset like this : MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Clear(); MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Merge(MyDataTable); and now if i check the table in the dataset everything is ok except only one single field on one single row which is DBNull, that makes no sense because the source data table contains the good integer vaue.   I need to write a gui in Tkinter that can choose a csv file, read it in and generate a sequence of buttons based on the names in the first row of the csv file (later the data in the csv file should be used to run a number of simulations). • How can I use linq to build an object from 1 row of data?

  Hi All, I have a quick linq question. I have a stored proc that should return one row of data. I would like to use a lambda to build an object. Here's what I'm currently doing which works, but I know I should be able to use First instead of Select except I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Can anyone straighten me out here? • How to define a static array without a contant size in a constructor of a class? (C++)

  I have a class defined as: class Obj { public: int width, height; Obj(int w, int h); } and I need it to contain a static array like so: int presc[width][height]; however, I cannot define within the class, so it it possible to create a pointer to a 2D array (and, out of curiosity, 3, 4, and 5D arrays), have that as a member of the class, and intitalize it in the constructor like: int ar[5][6]; Obj o(5, 6, &ar); If that isn't possible, is there any way to get a static array without a contant size in a class, or am I going to have to use a dynamic array? (Something I don't want to do because I don't plan on ever changing the size of the array after it's created.)

  Hi, my app involves some work with the camera, therefore it needs to handle capturing of images with different resolution. My targets are 1.6 - onwards. Does anyone know what to pass in the value argument for Camera.Parameters.set("picture-size", value) I have look at the Donut release of the Camera app, however, it was not very clear what exactly has been used there as the value is retrieved from the SharedPreferences. // Set picture size parameter. String pictureSize = mPreferences.getString(CameraSettings.KEY_PICTURE_SIZE, getString(R.string.pref_camera_picturesize_default)); mParameters.set(PARM_PICTURE_SIZE, pictureSize); Lookin at the strings.xml I can see that R.string.pref_camera_picturesize_default = 2048x1536, however, I'm not sure what other values can be passed there? Is it any resolution you fancy, or are they only certain resolutions the drivers can handle? Thanks.

  Hi all As we know for UDP receive, we use Socket.ReceiveFrom or UdpClient.receive Socket.ReceiveFrom accept a byte array from you to put the udp data in. UdpClient.receive returns directly a byte array where the data is My question is that How to set the buffer size inside Socket. I think the OS maintains its own buffer for receive UDP data, right? for e.g., if a udp packet is sent to my machine, the OS will put it to a buffer and wait us to Socket.ReceiveFrom or UdpClient.receive, right? How can I change the size of that internal buffer? I have tried Socket.ReceiveBuffSize, it has no effect at all for UDP, and it clearly said that it is for TCP window. Also I have done a lot of experiments which proves Socket.ReceiveBufferSize is NOT for UDP. Can anyone share some insights for UDP internal buffer??? Thanks

I want to split A1 by these names while copying over the values from B1 and C1 into the split columns of A1.   Hello all! I am using Hibernate and getting Exception in thread "main" org.hibernate.ObjectNotFoundException: No row with the given identifier exists: [<MyDbObject>#271] What is pretty weird about this error is, that the object with the given id exists in the database. I inserted the problematic record in another run of the application. If I access it in the same run (i.e. same hibernate session) there seem to be no problems retrieving the data. Just because it could be a fault of the mapping: public class ProblemClass { @ManyToOne(optional = false) private MyDbObject myDbObject; } public class MyDbObject { @OneToMany(mappedBy = "myDbObject") private List<ProblemClass> problemClasses; } I have absolutely no clue even where to look at. Any hints highly appreciated!

  Hi, What do you think would be the best way to produce custom size image thumbnail from MS Office documents (doc, xls and ppt) on Windows with native code (means all means besides .NET/JAVA)? My current research result: IExtractImage COM. Problem: The size of the generated result is fixed and low quality, and you can't be sure all the source documents contain the thumbnails. Use a programmable virtual printer to print the specified page, and the printer must support image output, any good suggestion for this? What else would you suggest? thanks!

  I'd like to use the DataGridView control as a list with columns. Sort of like ListView in Details mode but I want to keep the DataGridView flexibility. ListView (with Details view and FullRowSelect enabled) highlights the whole line and shows the focus mark around the whole line: DataGridView (with SelectionMode = FullRowSelect) displays focus mark only around a single cell: So, does anyone know of some (ideally) easy way to make the DataGridView row selection look like the ListView one? I'm not looking for a changed behaviour of the control - I only want it to look the same. Ideally, without messing up with the methods that do the actual painting.

I would like to allow the user to change the font size based on preference (ie did they remember their glasses today). A few ways that I can think of would be a numeric-up-down or +/- button controls. Both of these ways require screen real estate that is very limited. Is there a control or technique that would allow font size changes with a hidden-when-not-used control?

  _stuckVertices is an array of pointers and I would like to update one index of that array without using _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ] 3 times. The reason it is an array of pointers is because the vast majority of the time the pointer will be NULL. The following code works but I need to dereference a each time I use it: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor **a = &_stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!*a) *a = new Anchor(this, column, row); (*a)->stick(); } I originally had it written like this, but the _stuckVertices pointer doesn't get updated: void Cloth::stickPoint(int column, int row) { Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ (row * _cols) + column ]; if (!a) a = new Anchor(this, column, row); a->stick(); } Is there a way to write Anchor *a = _stuckVertices[ index ] so that a is like an alias into the array that I can update, or is something like the first piece of code how I should do this?   I have a combo box with a row source based on an SQL query about like SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE Database_New.Date= DateSerial([cboYear], 1, 1) And Database_New.Date<= DateSerial([cboYear], 12, 31); the trouble is that if I change the value of cboYear, the values in the drop down cboASEC do not update. I have to open the query, save it and close it to get the thing to update while I have the form open. Is there a way to get the cboASEC to update somehow? maybe a little tidbit of code in the cboYear - afterupdate?
