  • Creating multiple markers in Google Maps using XML

    I'm almost sure this question has been asked before, but for the love of me I just can't find the answer anywhere. Basically what I want to do is create multiple markers on a custom Google Map I'm building. I already have an XML file with the coordinates (lat/lng) and title of each item. I'd like to take the data from the XML file and use it to create markers on the map. I've found how to do this using KML files and MySQL/PHP, but I need to know how to do it in Javascript. One more thing: I have a .xml file of my own, so it won't be like I'll be getting the data from a webpage because I believe (from research I've done today) that the code for that may be different. If anyone knows if this has been posted somewhere else before, could you please direct me there? I've literally been searching all day, this is my last resort. Thanks a ton!!!

    Here is the sequence of events I would like to see happen: Visitor shows up to my site and clicks the connect button Visitor authorizes the connection by logging into their facebook account My site records their authorization My site posts to their wall "Sally just joined http://foo.com. A website about foo." Much later, my site can post other updates to the users wall using the stored authorization from step 3. Sally doesn't have to be actively on my site at the time this post to their wall happens. Thanks in advance.

  • I need to unset the state of the jQuery .toggle(odd,even)

    Hi I have items in a table cell that gets toggled on and off. An external button accepts a click and submits the selected cell values via ajax. The problem is that I want to reset the toggle state for the selected cells. I can easily unset the highlighting, but then need a double click to trigger the correct toggle. Can the .toggle(odd, even) be reset or cycled via an external call? Thanks

  • Returned JSON is seemingly mixed up when using jQuery Ajax

    I've a php script that has the following line: echo json_encode(array('success'=>'true','userid'=>$userid, 'data' => $array)); It returns the following: { "success": "true", "userid": "1", "data": [ { "id": "1", "name": "Trigger", "image": "", "subtitle": "", "description": "", "range1": null, "range2": null, "range3": null }, { "id": "2", "name": "DWS", "image": "", "subtitle": "", "description": "", "range1": null, "range2": null, "range3": null } ] } But when I call a jQuery ajax as below: $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'url', crossDomain: true, data: {name: name}, success: function(success, userid, data) { if (success = true) { document.write(userid); document.write(success); } } }); The userid is 'success'. The actual success one works, its true. Is this malformed data being returned? Or is it simply my code? Thanks in advance, Niall

  • Paypal recuring IPN signals

    When creating Paypal recurring payments i don't receive any notifications from IPN that the recurring payments were actually made. I do receive the notifications that recurring profiles are created, that regular payments are made, that profile is canceled and so on. But no notifications when Paypal make the recurring payment. The file that process the ipn notification works fine and i think is bug free.It also send me an email every time he got something from Paypal(with row POST data) so i don't think the problem is here. Does Paypal send these notifications.If i set a daily recurring payment i should get a daily notification that payment was made? From what i read in documentation i should get these signals but..   • Google Maps or Open Street or Something Else

    I have been working on a concept for a while for a sports related website where users can record a location on a map and put that location into a category for a sport and then rate it by a metric or two. I want these metrics displayed on the map but then I want a link or button to view a full page description. I know that this is possible with Google Maps but I don't know a lot about Open Street Maps or other options. I am expecting around 50,000 views a day and am curious as to what the best option would be.

    Is one correct in stating the following: If a Python object is created in a C function, but the function doesn't return it, no INCREF is needed, but a DECREF is. [false]If the function does return it, you do need to INCREF, in the function that receives the return value.[/false] When assigning C typed variables as attributes, like double, int etc., to the Python object, no INCREF or DECREF is needed. Assigning Python objects as attributes to your other Python objects goes like this: PyObject *foo; foo = bar // A Python object tmp = self->foo; Py_INCREF(foo); self->foo = foo; Py_XDECREF(tmp); //taken from the manual, but it is unclear if this works in every situation EDIT: -- can I safely use this in every situation? (haven't run into one where it caused me problems) dealloc of a Python object needs to DECREF for every other Python object that it has as an attribute, but not for attributes that are C types.     I would like to create a query using the JPA CriteriaBuilder and I would like to add an ORDER BY clause.   • What is the best way to migrate documents into Sharepoint (MOSS) 2007?

    I'm working with a customer that needs to migrate documents from their current document management system (not Sharepoint) into Sharepoint MOSS 2007 retaining document history and metadata. I've written a proof of concept using the Sharepoint web services and that looks promising, but the snag so far seems to be programmatically setting the created date/time and user. The webservices allow the fields to be set but implicitly override them to be the currently logged in user + date/time. For obvious reasons, I need to be able to keep the original created date/time and user on migration. Does anyone know the best way to approach this problem?

    Hi, I come from strong typed unambiguous OOP background and I struggle to find JavaScript reference manual that would fit my needs. The ideal one should be: compendious and handy, I'm not looking for ECMA standart reference. type specific, even if JS is not strong typed function arguments and returns have a type. browser specific, no matter the standards every browser is different and this ambiguity is killing me. examples, they are always handy. off line, this would be fine but it's not a condition. What is your favourite one? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope!

What amI missing - How is this possible in light of the fact that the response string is definitely formed as I would expect it to be?

  • Facebook redirect after login not working when url is dynamic

    This is my code: $loginUrl = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array( 'scope' => 'publish_actions', 'redirect_uri' => 'http://mysite.com/', )); It works but if I remove redirect_uri it doesn't work anymore. $loginUrl = $facebook->getLoginUrl(array( 'scope' => 'publish_actions' )); According to Facebook domcumentation redirect_uri is optional. https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/php/facebook-getLoginUrl/ Im trying to redirect the users to the same url they were on before logging in. Update: This problem occurs when the url is mysite.com/post23 but when url is mysite.com/staticpage or mysite.com there are no problems Any workarounds? EDIT: It looks like a bug, it doesn't work with certain url in the same site I wil try and report it to Facebook.

  • Meta tag og:title inside Facebook Application is ignored

    I have a Facebook Application with an iframe based canvas that contains a like button (also iframe), in the head of my iframe i've specified the standard meta tags (og:title, og:url, og:site_name) and they seem to work fine (the information is displayed correctly in the profile wall) except for the title. I've tested various links of the app with the Facebook URL Linter and the ug:title tag is ignored completly. Have any of you had any trouble with the open graph tags inside facebook applications? Any ideeas are apreciated, thanks.

  • Twitter authentication without authorization

    I wish to get the tweeter usename of a visitor to my site. I do not wish to post statuses or access any other information. I'd be happy to use OAuth, possibly with a 'Sign in with Twitter' button, but this then takes the user to a page which requests authorization for the application, that I wish to avoid.     I use paypal for my payments. For verification i use IPN. Can i review my INP History in the Paypal Sandbox? At the documentation i see Instant Payment Notification History in the History tab. (https://cms.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/?cmd=_render-content&content_ID=developer/e_howto_admin_IPNOperations) After googling i see "IPN History" chapter in the History tab (http://goo.gl/myZKF) At the real sandbox i don't see any IPN history.   • Unable to access LinkedIn conections using python rauth library

    I was trying out this example at https://github.com/litl/rauth/blob/master/examples/linkedin-web.py I get a 403, Access to connections denied error and it returns KeyError: '_total'. r_network option is present. Has anyone faced this issue? Also if you look at http://docs.python-requests.org/en/latest/user/quickstart/#oauth-authentication, the 'requests' library is initializing resource_owner_key, resource_owner_secret apart from the application keys. Not sure how these are getting passed from the 'rauth' library, Was wondering if that was causing this 403 error.
