  • XML over HTTP with JMS and Spring

    - by Will Sumekar
I have a legacy HTTP server where I need to send an XML file over HTTP request (POST) using Java (not browser) and the server will respond with another XML in its HTTP response. It is similar to Web Service but there's no WSDL and I have to follow the existing XML structure to construct my XML to be sent. I have done a research and found an example that matches my requirement here. The example uses HttpClient from Apache Commons. (There are also other examples I found but they use java.net networking package (like URLConnection) which is tedious so I don't want to use them). But it's also my requirement to use Spring and JMS. I know from Spring's reference that it's possible to combine HttpClient, JMS and Spring. My question is, how? Note that it's NOT in my requirement to use HttpClient. If you have a better suggestion, I'm welcome. Appreciate it. For your reference, here's the XML-over-HTTP example I've been talking about: /* * $Header: * $Revision$ * $Date$ * ==================================================================== * * Copyright 2002-2004 The Apache Software Foundation * * Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License"); * you may not use this file except in compliance with the License. * You may obtain a copy of the License at * * http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0 * * Unless required by applicable law or agreed to in writing, software * distributed under the License is distributed on an "AS IS" BASIS, * WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or implied. * See the License for the specific language governing permissions and * limitations under the License. * ==================================================================== * * This software consists of voluntary contributions made by many * individuals on behalf of the Apache Software Foundation. • using php to check if xml is atom or rss

    - by guest86
i'm writing a php code which has to determine if given xml is in "atom" or "rss" format. After observing atom and rss xml files, i decided classify xml based on a root element. If root element is "<feed" it's an atom xml. If it's "<rss" it's not an atom. How can i perform that check using DOM? So far i have: $dom->loadXML($resp); $feed = $dom->getElementsByTagName("feed"); but it's not working quite right....

  • How to solve docbuiler saxexception: unexpected end of document?

    - by user211992
I have a service that gives some car information in an xml format. <?xml version="1.0" encoding='UTF-8'?> <car> <id>5</id> <name>qwer</name> </car> <car> <id>6</id> <name>qwert</name> </car> Now the problem that I'm having is that my DocumentBuilderFactory docBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); DocumentBuilder docBuilder = docBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = docBuilder.parse(xml); Sometimes throws a SAXException (sometimes it works just fine, but when I reboot the server (still in development) I sometimes keep getting it) with as cause SAXException: unexpected end of document. But when I place a bufferreader there to see what it's receiving and I copy the value into an xml document and I open it in firefox/ie it looks just fine.

  • Java/JAXB: Unmarshall Xml to specific subclass based on an attribute

    - by Frothy
Is it possible to use JAXB to unmarshall xml to a specific Java class based on an attribute of the xml? <shapes> <shape type="square" points="4" square-specific-attribute="foo" /> <shape type="triangle" points="3" triangle-specific-attribute="bar" /> </shapes> I would like to have a List of Shape objects containing a triangle and a square, each with their own shape-specific attribute. IE: abstract class Shape { int points; //...etc } class Square extends Shape { String square-specific-attribute; //...etc } class Triangle extends Shape { String triangle-specific-attribute; //...etc } I'm currently just putting all attributes in one big "Shape" class and it's less than ideal. I could get this to work if the shapes were properly named xml elements, but unfortunately I don't have control of the xml I'm retrieving. Thanks!

  • Android XmlSerializer limitation?

    - by Rexb
Hi all, My task is just to get an xml string using XmlSerializer. Problem is that it seems like the serializer stops adding any new element and/or attribute to the xml document when it reaches certain length (perhaps 10,000 char?). My questions: have you experience this kind of problem? What could be possible solutions? Here is my sample test code: public void doSerialize() throws XmlPullParserException, IllegalArgumentException, IllegalStateException, IOException { StringWriter writer = new StringWriter(); XmlSerializer serializer = XmlPullParserFactory.newInstance().newSerializer(); serializer.setOutput(writer); serializer.startDocument(null, null); serializer.startTag(null, "START"); for (int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { serializer.attribute(null, "ATTR" + i, "VAL " + i); } serializer.startTag(null, "DATA"); for (int i = 0; i < 500; i++) { serializer.attribute(null, "attr" + i, "value " + i); } serializer.endTag(null, "DATA"); serializer.endTag(null, "START"); serializer.endDocument(); String xml = writer.toString(); // value: until 493rd attribute int n = xml.length(); // value: 10125 } Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • ArrayCollection loop through for matching items

    - by charlie
Hi I hope someone can help me..... i am trying to build a dynamic form for a questionnaire module. Building on some previous posts I am using the process similar to that in question "http://stackoverflow.com/questions/629021/how-to-generate-a-formmxform-dynamically-in-flex" i have managed to prove out the fact of extending the XML to include a calendar, combobox etc. my problem is that now need to get the data from an ArrayCollection rather than from an xml file. I am looking to loop through the AC and where type = "text" render a textinput field, where a type ="calendar" render a Calendar etc etc. my code so far just looking at a textinput field (and sorry for all the comments included ;) is:- [Bindable] public var AC:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection( [ {type:'text', direction:'horizontal', tooltip:'test tooltip', label:'my textbox label', id:'1'}, {type:'text', direction:'horizontal', tooltip:'another tooltip', label:'another label', id:'2'} ]); private function init():void { var form:Form = new Form(); for each(var elements:XML in AC) { switch( [email protected]()) { case "text": var fi:FormItem = new FormItem(); // fi.toolTip = elements.tooltip.toString(); // fi.required = getglobalprofile.required.toString(); // fi.direction = getglobalprofileb[i].@direction; var li:Label = new Label(); // li.text = getglobalprofileb[i].@label; // li.width = 100; var ti:TextInput = new TextInput(); ti.text = "test"; ti.width = 200; form.addChild(fi); fi.addChild(li); fi.addChild(ti); // break; } } this.addChild( form); } ]] <mx:Form id="form" name="form"> </mx:Form> if you are interested in the working xml version (rendering only) let me know and i will post this as well

  • Getting a certain node using DataSet

    - by MarceloRamires
I have the following XML <xml> <ObsCont xCampo="field1"> <xTexto>example1</xTexto> </ObsCont> <ObsCont xCampo="field2"> <xTexto>example2</xTexto> </ObsCont> <ObsCont xCampo="field3"> <xTexto>example3</xTexto> </ObsCont> <field>information</field> </xml> Is there a way to get the content of "xTexto" inside the ObsCont that has "field2" value for the attribute xCampo using DataSet ? It would be desireable to have a single liner like the following: DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ds.ReadXml(StrArquivoProc); ds.Tables["xml"].Rows[0]["field"].ToString(); //field == "information" If I use the same method I'm not specifying that I want the one with the desired attribute.

  • Removing google mail markers with jquery after getting them from xml

    - by sebastian
Hi there, I'm trying to create a page that contains a google map. The map is filled with markers from an xml file. I just can't figure out how to remove "old" markers, that don't match the latest user input. At the moment my js stops after the very first xml item. The clearList.push(marker); is supposed to put the generated marker away for later usage. When the user hits the search button I want all markers to be gone and use clearMarkers();. Maybe someone here can help Sebastian Here is my JavaScript: $(document).ready(function() { $("#map").css({height: 650}); var clearList = []; var myLatLng = new google.maps.LatLng(52.518143, 13.372879); MYMAP.init('#map', myLatLng, 11); $("#showmarkers").click(function(e){ clearMarkers(); MYMAP.placeMarkers('markers.xml'); }); }); function clearMarkers() { $(clearList).each(function () { this.setmap(null); }); clearList = []; } var MYMAP = { map: null, bounds: null } MYMAP.init = function(selector, latLng, zoom) { var myOptions = { zoom:zoom, center: latLng, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.HYBRID } this.map = new google.maps.Map($(selector)[0], myOptions); this.bounds = new google.maps.LatLngBounds(); } MYMAP.placeMarkers = function(filename) { $.get(filename, function(xml){ $(xml).find("marker").each(function(){ // read values from xml for searching var platzart = $(this).find('platzart').text(); var ort = $(this).find('ort').text(); var open = $(this).find('open').text(); if (platzart =="Kunstrasen" && $('#kunstrasen').attr('checked') || platzart =="Rasen" && $('#rasen').attr('checked') || platzart =="Tartan" && $('#tartan').attr('checked') || platzart =="Boltzplatz" && $('#boltzplatz').attr('checked') ){ // read values from xml for additional info var name = $(this).find('name').text(); var plz = $(this).find('plz').text(); var note = $(this).find('note').text(); var adress = $(this).find('adress').text(); // create a new LatLng point for the marker var lat = $(this).find('lat').text(); var lng = $(this).find('lng').text(); var point = new google.maps.LatLng(parseFloat(lat),parseFloat(lng)); // extend the bounds to include the new point MYMAP.bounds.extend(point); // create new marker var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: point, map: MYMAP.map }); clearList.push(marker); // add onclick overlay var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow(); var html='<strong>'+name+'</strong.><br />'+platzart; google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() { infoWindow.setContent(html); infoWindow.open(MYMAP.map, marker); }); } MYMAP.map.fitBounds(MYMAP.bounds); }); }); } Thanks in advance

  • xml to xsd to c# class - C# 3.0, .net 3.5

Following this articlelink text one of the comments from 'zanoni' said he did it this way Using .NET 3.5: [XmlRoot] public class EmailConfiguration { [XmlElement] public string DataBoxID { get; set; } [XmlElement] public DefaultSendToAddressCollectionClass DefaultSendToAddressCollection { get; set; } } public class DefaultSendToAddressCollectionClass { [XmlElement] public string[] EmailAddress { get; set; } } How would I get my class to be as what he described? • updating multiple nodes in xml with xquery and xdmp:node-replace

    - by morja
Hi all, I wnat to update an XML document in my xml database (Marklogic). I have xml as input and want to replace each node that exists in the target xml. If a node does not exist it would be great if it gets added, but thats maybe another task. My XML in the database: <user> <username>username</username> <firstname>firstname</firstname> <lastname>lastname</lastname> <email>[email protected]</email> <comment>comment</comment> </user> The value of $user_xml: <user> <firstname>new firstname</firstname> <lastname>new lastname</lastname> </user> My function so far: declare function update-user ( $username as xs:string, $user_xml as node()) as empty-sequence() { let $uri := user-uri($username) return for $node in $user_xml/user return xdmp:node-replace(fn:doc($uri)/user/fn:node-name($node), $node) }; First of all I cannot iterate over $user_xml/user. If I try to iterate over $user_xml I get "arg1 is not of type node()" exception. But maybe its the wrong approach anyway? Does anybody maybe have sample code how to do this?

  • Is XSLT worth investing time in and are there any actual alternatives?

    - by Keeno
I realize this has been a few other questions on this topic, and people are saying use your language of choice to manipulate the XML etc etc however, not quite fit my question exactly. Firstly, the scope of the project: We want to develop platform independent e-learning, currently, its a bunch of HTML pages but as they grow and develop they become hard to maintain. The idea: Generate up an XML file + Schema, then produce some XSLT files that process the XML into the eLearning modiles. XML to HTML via XSLT. Why: We would like the flexibilty to be able to easy reformat the content (I realize CSS is a viable alternative here) If we decide to alter the pages layout or functionality in anyway, im guessing altering the "shared" XSLT files would be easier than updating the HTML files. So far, we have about 30 modules, with up to 10-30 pages each Depending on some "parameters" we could output drastically different page layouts/structures, above and beyond what CSS can do Now, all this has to be platform independent, and to be able to run "offline" i.e. without a server powering the HTML Negatives I've read so far for XSLT: Overhead? Not exactly sure why...is it the compute power need to convert to HTML? Difficult to learn Better alternatives Now, what I would like to know exactly is: are there actually any viable alternatives for this "offline"? Am I going about it in the correct manner, do you guys have any advice or alternatives. Thanks!

  • Validate XML instance document against WSDL

    - by Ice09
Hi, I can easily validate a XML document against a XML Schema, eg. with XMLSpy or programmatically. Is it possible to do this with a WSDL file? It does not seem possible with XMLSpy or any other XML tool I know. For me the only possibility right now is to do it programmatically, eg. by generating Java code from the WSDL and starting a request, which is then marshalled correctly. If there is no tool / easy programmatic approach, is there a tool which can extract XML Schema from the WSDL? Best

  • Where to place log4j.xml

    - by Farid
Hi , How can we specify were log4j has to look at when trying to find its xml configuration file ? It seems that by default, log4j looks into the root of a class folder, I can say that using the debug log4j functionality and running my application from the IDE. However, I don't have any class folder in my jar anymore. And the log4j.xml file is at the root of the jar. I have already tried to set the option -Dlog4j.configuration=log4j.xml but it doesn't work. Here is the global structure of my application at the moment : com lib meta-inf log4j.xml Thanks !

  • UNIX tool to dump a selection of HTML?

I'm looking to monitor changes on websites and my current approach is being defeated by a rotating top banner. Is there a UNIX tool that takes a selection parameter (id attribute or XPath), reads HTML from stdin and prints to stdout the subtree based on the selection? For example, given an html document I want to filter out everything but the subtree of the element with id="content". Basically, I'm looking for the simplest HTML/XML equivalent to grep.

For example: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <data> <core id="01234"> <field1>some data</field1> <field2>more data</field2> <metadata> <response> <status code="0">Success</status> <content> <job>f1b5c3f8-e6b1-4ae4-905a-a7c5de3f13c6</job> <id>id of the content</id> </content> </response> </metadata> </core> </data> With this xml how do I query the value of without using something like this: var doc = XElement.Load("file.xml"); string id = (string)doc.Element("core") .Element("metadata") .Element("response") .Element("content") .Element("id"); I don't like the above approach because it is error prone (throws exception if any tag is missing in the hierarchy) and honestly ugly. Is there a more robust and graceful approach, perhaps using the sql-like syntax of linq?
