  • RDC stops working after a period of time.

    I have a workstation with RDC configured for the employee. When they leave at the end of their day they lock the pc (windows key + l). They go home connect to our VPN and log back in. Everything works fine. The following morning they will attempt to log in before they return to the office. The computer does not respond to the RDC request. I've found that it becomes completely inactive to any ICMP requests. Once the user reboots the computer everything works fine again. I'm going to turn off RDC, reboot, turn RDC back on and reboot again to see if it fixes the problem. Until then does anyone have any other ideas?

  • Xcode newb -- #include can't find my file

    I'm trying to get a third party audio library (STK) working inside Xcode. Along with the standard .h files, many of the implementation files include a file called SKINI.msg. SKINI.msg is in the same directory as all of the header files. The header files are getting included fine, but the compiler complains that it can't find SKINI.msg. What do I need to do to get Xcode to happily include SKINI.msg?   • Open Source Mozilla Prism Alternative

    Here is what I want to do, very simply: I want to put a URL into a Mozilla Prism (or some alternative), then be provided with an icon on my desktop that when I click it a window opens and the page is displayed. The process for this instance of Prism should be completely independent of any other Prism "applications" that are running. Prism looks like it does this exactly, but I'm running Fedora 12 x86_64 and I can't get it to work, so I'm wondering if there are any alternatives to Prism.

It would be great if we could have 2 mice on the client's desktop. Or at least if the client could point to somthing without interrupting the server's mouse. A shared whiteboard would be great.     Hello everyone, I'm in the design phase for a desktop-based application. Because of the nature of this particular application, I believe it would benefit greatly from a web-based approach (i.e., allowing a user to interface with the application through a browser running in kiosk mode) in order to leverage the simplicity of HTML/CSS/JS and the availability of many great JS interface plugins. Does taking this approach (rather than coding in a native or cross-platform graphics library) come with any gotchas?

  • How can I obfuscate a dll when using a Visual Studio deployment project?

    Hi all, I need to obfuscate a dll that is used in a ASP.NET project, the deployment project pruduces a setup.exe which I want to distribute. I have the VS 2008 Dotfuscator installed but when I build the deployment project the project that creates the dll is rebuilt before it is added to the deployment project and added to the setup.exe.   • SharePoint Designer for Mac?

    I'm looking for some way of editing SharePoint ASPX pages on my Mac, using either a local text editor or some kind of remote-into-the-SP-server solution (like emacs with tramp). I know that Cyberduck has the ability to open WebDAV servers with NTLM authentication, but I've been unable to get that to work. So far, the only solution I've found is to use a remote desktop connection to a Windows Server, and run SharePoint Designer from there. Anyone know of either a better method, or a SharePoint Designer alternative?

    Hello guys... I have seen 2-3 ERPs in action. I am wondering what is better. Desktop based application or webbased displayed on a browser. My first expirience was with a web based ERP when i was 14 years old.. It was web based and terribly slow... For most simple task you had to do lots of clicks... no keyboard support ..... Pages took ages to load. Last year i worked for migrating to a newer computer some old terminal based cobol application. The computer that worked till today and still has no problem was from 1993. The user interface ofcourse was textbased.. The speed that guys placed orders was amazing! just typing the name of the customer , then 5-10 keys to add a product to order.... Comparing to this ERP the page for placing orders Link (click sales orders) seems terribly slow to add a product... No keyboard shortcut works to save what you added and generally i believe you need 4 times more time to place an order compared to the text interface... Having to use both mouse and keyboard for this task is BAD and sadistic... So how can tek heck these people ever use a system like that ??? So in the long run desktop application seems the only way... Ofcourse browsers support shortcuts but the way to overide the defaults that browsers uses isnt cross compatible... That is a hudge problem. Finnaly, if we MUST/forced use cloud in near future what about keyboard shortcuts?? I feel confused... I have seen converters of desktop applications to browser applications but are SLOW as hell... The question is what about user friendliness?What kind of application would you use?

  • How can I remove unmounted SD Card icons from my desktop?

    I have been using some audio utilities in Ubuntu 11.10 to tweak .mp3 files on my phone (Motorola Photon 4G). I connect via USB... both my phone and the internal SD card are mounted as two separate drives. The SD card has an unusual drive name with some odd characters. When I'm finished, I unmount my phone (or "safely remove drive"), but the SD card can't be unmounted. I've mounted and unmounted my phone on 4 occasions now, and there are now 4 SD card drive icons that I can't remove from the desktop. I tried using the gconf-editor/apps/nautilus/desktop trick to make drives invisible and it's not working. Right-clicking on the icons and selecting "unmount" produced the following error message; (I can't type the unusual drive name characters... replaced with xxx) Unable to unmount xxx umount: /media/xxx is not mounted (according to mtab) How can I remove the unwanted icons from the desktop and is there a method for avoiding this problem in the future?     Hi Everyone, I have problems deploying MVC2 application to my hosting. It shows the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.UrlParameter' from assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. It looks like it does not understand the new "optional URL parameters" feature of MVC2. This is just a simple test application I created with "New Project" wizard in VWD 2008. It works ok localy both in IIS and Visual Studio web servers. MVC1 web sites are working ok on the hosting server. I've contacted the hosting support and they installed MVC2 but the problem still exists. The web site is working in ASP.NET 2.0 integrated pipeline mode. Does anyone know why it is happening?     Hello I am needing to deploy a project using DevExpress controls to an IIS 6.0 server. The project loads fine and until I add in the DevExpress controls. When trying to load the site I get the error Could not load file or assembly 'DevExpress.Web.v9.3, Version=9.3.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b88d1754d700e49a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified What am I doing wrong? I've tried installing the controls on the server and also just copying all of the assembly dlls to the bin/ folder of the application but I can not get this error to go away. How do I get it to work?

  • What is the easiest way to deploy a MVC2 application from Visaul Studio 2010 to IIS 7.5?

    I´ve tried a couple of different ways to deploy a application to a IIS 7.5 running on my machine for testing purposes and i´ve sort of hit a wall. Nothing works out of the box. Everything assumes I have knowledge I don't have and would prefer not to have to aqquire. Google isn't really helping either with answers ranging from "copy files by hand" to "install teamcity and set it up for CI". I have set up TeamCity for java projects before and it's really over kill for my needs at the moment. So anyone know of a fast, simple and easy way to deploy a application during testing/building?
