  Hello! First time here, so please be gentle. Does anyone know how to replicate the built-in functionality of WordPress whereby the admin is informed of when updates for plugins are available - i.e. when one (more more) is available, an icon appears over the plugins menu which contains the number of available updates. The plugin that I am writing could really benefit, from a UI perspective, with having a feature very similar to this. Does anyone know if there are any hooks which I can use, or any function which I can call? Any help on this is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much in advance, Richard

• Help with MySQL query

  I have a table that contains the next columns: ip(varchar 255), index(bigint 20), time(timestamp) each time something is inserted there, the time column gets current timestamp. I want to run a query that returns all the rows that have been added in the last 24 hours. This is what I try to execute: SELECT ip, index FROM users WHERE ip = 'some ip' AND TIMESTAMPDIFF(HOURS,time,NOW()) < 24 And it doesn't work. Can someone help me out? Thanks :)

• CLR Function not working in restored database

  So I've restore a database with CLR assemblies in it from one physical server to another. One of the functions in the CLR assembly essentially does an uncompress of some compressed data. When I run this function against data in the restored database it returns the compressed data (rather than the uncompressed data). No error is thrown in SSMS or in the SQL server error logs. At the suggestion of others, I've checked differences in the database ownership (both owned by sa), trustworthiness (both set to not trustworthy). I also checked differences in the .NET framework installs on both machines but found only that the target machine had a 1.1 version installed that the source didn't. I don't know what else to try. Then in the calling code i could say: AddToCache<Person>(p, 10000, "Person", new PersonService().GetPersonById(1)); AddToCache<Advert>(a, 100000, "Advert", new AdvertService().GetAdverts(3)); What i want to achieve is that the 'if cache is empty get data and add to cache' logic is placed on only one place. • Call function in query in Entity framework 3.5

  Hello All: I am trying to run following query in entity framework 3.5 var test = from e in customers where IsValid(e) select e; Here IsValid function takes current customer and validate against some conditions and returns false or true. But when I am trying to run the query it is giving error "LINQ Method cannot be translated into a store expression." Can any body tell me any other approach? One approach I can think of is to write all validation conditions here, but that will make the code difficult to read. Thanks Ashwani
