I am using jQuery else where on the site, so it's available. I also need to deal with an image not being loaded right away as the images are larger.

I know that there are some applications (task managers), but I would like to write my own, simple application. I would like to write simple task manager, just list of all process and button which will kill some of them.   I'm currently automating an application at work using COM, and have an issue where anyone using my application has a problem if the original application is already open when my application runs. I know how to locate the process if it's open, but instead of having to worry about closing it, or working around it, etc., I want to try to use the existing application instead of opening a new one. This is how I normally start the application in my automation program: Designer.Application desApp = new Designer.Application(); Now I'm attempting to try and use the handle from an existing application: Designer.Application desApp = (Designer.Application)((System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessesByName("Designer.exe")[0]).Handle) (I know this doesn't work, since .Handle returns an IntPtr, but I'm using it as an example.) Is there any way to accomplish this? How do I return a usable object if I know the handle/process?

• How to determine Windows.Diagnostics.Process from ServiceController

  This is my first post, so let me start by saying HELLO! I am writing a windows service to monitor the running state of a number of other windows services on the same server. I'd like to extend the application to also print some of the memory statistics of the services, but I'm having trouble working out how to map from a particular ServiceController object to its associated Diagnostics.Process object, which I think I need to determine the memory state. I found out how to map from a ServiceController to the original image name, but a number of the services I am monitoring are started from the same image, so this won't be enough to determine the Process. Does anyone know how to get a Process object from a given ServiceController? Perhaps by determining the PID of a service? Or else does anyone have another workaround for this problem?   I got an odd request, and I fear it will be closed as off-topic. So be it, but it's worth a shot. I'm creating a presentation about dependency injection and inversion of control, and I thought I'd make the point of interchangeable parts that serve a common purpose, but has different implementations, by showing an image I've seen before. Basically the image is of a man or a woman, but the image is split up into four parts: Head Torso uhm... not sure the name of this part, stomach, etc. Legs Possibly a fifth with feet and for each part you can choose among a few variants, creating odd people in the process. ie. a man torso with a woman head. But, I can't find such an image now of course. Does anyone know of such an image and can provide me with an url?

• Process-wide hook using SetWindowsHookEx

  I need to inject a dll into one or more external processes, from which I also want to intercept keybord events. That's why using SetWindowsHookEx with WH_KEYBOARD looks like an easy way to achieve both things in a single step. Now I really don't want to install a global hook when I'm only interested in a few selected processes, but Windows hooks seem to be either global or thread-only. My question is now how I would properly go about setting up a process-wide hook. I guess one way would be to set up the hook on the target process' main thread from my application, and then doing the same from inside my dll on DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH for all other running threads (plus on DLL_THREAD_ATTACH for threads started later). But is this really a good way? And more important, aren't there any simpler ways to setup process-wide hooks? My idea looks quite cumbersome und ugly, but I wasn't able to find any information about doing this anywhere.

• Respecting EXIF orientation when displaying iPhone photos on the web

  I am developing an iPhone camera app that uploads an image to Amazon S3 and that image is displayed on a website. When the iPhone takes a picture, it always saves the photo in an upright orientation, while the orientation used to correctly view the photo is saved in the image's EXIF data. So if I take a photo with the iPhone and open it in FireFox without processing the EXIF data, the image could be sideways or upside down. My problem is that I don't know how to display the photo in it's correct orientation on the website. My current solution is to rotate the photo in the iPhone app, but I'd rather not do that. Is there anyway to respect the EXIF data when displaying on the web without pre-processing the image?

Saving the images afterwards to a single file using standard compression (LZW), the separation time is under 1 second. Is there a way to speed up the process?

  I have an ASP NET web server application that calls another process running on the same box that creates a pdf file and returns it. The second process requires a secure connection via SSL. The second process has issued my ASP NET application with a digital certificate but I still cannot authenticate, getting a 403 error. The code is a little hard to show but here's a simplified method ...   I'm trying to build my own rpm package and have a couple of doubts. First of all, in several places I've red that one shouldn't build rpms as root. Why is that? During the building process, rpmbuild has to go through the install stage where it installs files to the system. As far as I understand I can't do that if I'm not root. rpmbuild process finishes with error. So, the question is if it is really possible to build an rpm without installing stuff into the system? Or eventually I do have to become root to complete the build process?

  I have written the two program. One program is write the content to the text file simultaneously. Another program is read that content simultaneously. But both the program should run at the same time. For me the program is write the file is correctly. But another program is not read the file. I know that once the write process is completed than only the data will be stored in the hard disk. Then another process can read the data. But I want both read and write same time with different process in the single file. How can I do that? Please help me.

• Control process concurrency in PHP

  I have programmed a simple app that every X minutes checks if an image has changed in several websites and downloads it. It's very simple: downloads image header, make some CRC checks, downloads the file, stores in a MySQL database some data about each image and process next item... This process takes about 1 minute to complete. The problem is I have noticed that while the server is executing this process I cannot access to any page in the website, even those that don't require MySQL. I don't know why it is happening and I have no clue about how to fix it. Perhaps a more advanced PHP programmer can help me.

  I created a simple test app with an image (as well as a button with an image) and it runs fine in the simulator. But when uploading to the iPod, none of the images appear. The button appears but with no image. A few things worth mentioning: - Today's massive achievement was making it beyond the code signing errors and so I have not had any applications uploaded to the device until now. IOW, it's not a sudden change. - The png image is about 100 x 200. - I also set an icon image (png 24 x 24) that does not appear either. Thanks in advance for any advice.

For that reason i think need to know current session/process id (just like "SHOW PROCESSLIST") but really need to know IN WHICH process the query are?
