• Overwrite msg in mirth

  I have two destinations now and the first calls a SOAP webservice. I want to take the response of that destination by: msg = new XML(responseMap.get('Destination1').getMessage()); and convert it to a mutable XML object. Doing: logger.error(msg); <S:Body><PRPA_IN201306UV02> ... </PRPA_IN201306UV02></S:Body> Shows the valid msg as I want it, but when I do: msg['S:Body'] it returns nothing. Any suggestions would help.

• Drawing a clamped uniform cubic B-spline using Cairo

  I have a bunch of coordinates which are the control points of a clamped uniform cubic B-spline on the 2D plane. I would like to draw this curve using Cairo calls (in Python, using Cairo's Python bindings), but as far as I know, Cairo supports Bézier curves only. I also know that the segments of a B-spline between two control points can be drawn using Bézier curves, but I can't find the exact formulae anywhere. Given the coordinates of the control points, how can I derive the control points of the corresponding Bézier curves? Is there any efficient algorithm for that?

  Hi there, can anyone help? I am having a problem stepping into code which is a website hosted on IIS7. Basically i have a test class which calls a WCF service like so ISecurityService service = new SecurityServiceClient(); MembershipUser membershipUser = null; membershipUser = service.GetMembershipUser("Mark"); // THIS LINE FAILS!!! I get the following error but i have everything enabled as far as i know i.e. <compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.0" /> Here is the error msg, i would appreciated any feedback.. • Performance implications of Synchronous Sockets vs Asynchronous Sockets

  We are trying to build an SMTP Server to receive mail notifications from various clients over internet. As each of the communication will be longer and it needs to log everything, doing this Asynchronous way is little challenging as well as by using Socket's Asynchronous methods we are not sure of how flow of control and error handling happens. Previously we wrote lot of server/client apps but we always used Synchronous sockets, reason being they are longer sessions and each session also has lot of local data to manage and parsing messages etc. Does anyone have any experience over real performance differences between these two methods? Async calls use ThreadPool which we have experienced many times to just die for no reason. And we fail to restart threadpool etc. In one way Request-Response protocol of HTTP, Async Sockets makes sense, but SMTP/IMAP etc protocols are longer and they have interleaved messages plus state machine of server. So Async methods are really complicated to program. However if anyone can share the performance of Sockets, it will be helpful.

• C++ Profiling: KiFastSystemCallRet

  I searched for this after seeing it's the top rated item when profiling using Very Sleepy, and it seems everyone gets the answer "it's a system function, ignore it". But Sleepy's hint for the function says: Hint: KiFastSystemCallRet often means the thread was waiting for something else to finish. Possible causes might be disk I/O, waiting for an event, or maybe just calling Sleep(). Now, my app is absolutely thrashing the CPU and so it's a bit weird 33% of the time is spent waiting for something to happen. Do I really just ignore it? EDIT: apparently, 77% of the calls to this come from QueryOglResource (?) which is in module nvd3dnum. I think that might be nvidia Direct3D stuff, i.e rendering.

• JQuery PrettyPhoto/Lightbox with Loupe Magnifier

  Morning gang, Right, I'm trying to crowbar a magnifier, like this one, into prettyPhoto (picked because the JS is nice). The trouble I'm having is initiating the loupe function when the prettyPhoto has loaded. If I include it in the prettyPhoto JS, it just gets itself into an endless loop, or doesn't get called at all. I've nearly got it working by putting a link next to the close button that calls the function inline, like so; <a href="#" onclick="$(\'.TB_Image\').loupe(); return false;">Magnify</a> The only problem here is that the return false doesn't work? It works when the call to loupe isn't in the onclick event though? Doing it this way does run the loupe function, but the homepage gets loaded so I don't know if it actually works or not. Has anyone got any sugestions at all? All help much appreciated!

  How have I to implement IEqualityComparer<DataRow> to remove duplicates rows from a DataTable with next structure: ID primary key, col_1, col_2, col_3, col_4 The default comparer doesn't work because each row has it's own, unique primary key. How to implement IEqualityComparer<DataRow> that will skip primary key and compare only data remained.   OK... so here is my code: twitterEngine = [[MGTwitterEngine alloc] initWithDelegate:self]; [twitterEngine setConsumerKey:CONSUMER_KEY secret:CONSUMER_SECRET]; accessToken = [twitterEngine getXAuthAccessTokenForUsername:profile.twitterUserId password:profile.twitterPassword]; NSLog(@"Access token: %@", accessToken); the console shows the access token returned just fine (so it seems to work) eg. Access token: C8A24515-0F11-4B5A-8813-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX but instead of accessTokenReceived method being called next on my delegate, it calls requestFailed with a 401. How can I be getting a 401 unauthorized and getting an access token back from the method call?????

  I am using C# ASP .NET MVC and ajax calls. I am able to get the display of the table along with all features. But, I don't understand how do I add a checkbox and button. I have tried dom-checkbox as well but can't get it to work. Any help is appreciated. • Textbox OnTextChanged and Button Click Event Not Firing

  I have textboxes being generated by a repeater that use OnTextChanged with autopostback enabled so that I can know when when the values change. This all works perfect. The problem starts when I try to click on any buttons on the page. The loss of focus triggers the event for the OnTextChanged; however, the event for my buttons never get fired. I checked this in the debugger and while debugging if I put a break-point in the page_load it will call both; however, without the break-point it still only calls the OnTextChanged event. I found this post on JavaScript. If my problem is also JavaScript related, why does the clicking of the button fire in debug mode? Thanks.

  I'm having trouble with a pointcut definition in Spring (version 2.5.6). I'm trying to intercept all method calls to a class, except for a given method (someMethod in the example below). <aop:config> <aop:advisor pointcut="execution(* x.y.z.ClassName.*(..)) AND NOT execution(* x.y.x.ClassName.someMethod(..))" /> </aop:config> However, the interceptor is invoked for someMethod as well. Then I tried this: <aop:config> <aop:advisor pointcut="execution(* x.y.z.ClassName.(* AND NOT someMethod)(..)) )" /> </aop:config> But this does not compile as it is not valid syntax (I get a BeanCreationException). Can anybody give any tips?

  So I have an MVC-application in Cocoa. There are some custom views, a controller and a model. Of course, the views need to know some stuff, so they get their data from the controller. However, they do not use accessors in the controller, they use KVC with a keypath that calls right through to the model: // In view.m time = [timeSource valueForKeyPath:@"theModel.currentTime"]; // timeSource is a pseudo-delegate of the view that holds the controller This simplifies things a great deal and technically, the views still don't know the model in person (that is, in pointer). But of course, they access it directly. Is that a usual (or at least sensible) usage of KVC and MVC? Or how would you implement this kind of communication?

  I'm trying to convert a database-driven multiple-choice-style study website (written in JSP) into an iPhone app using JQTouch. If I load all of the Q&A's into their own divs in the same file I can easily link and animate between them using links to hashtags, like: a class="button" href="#question22" Unfortunately this isn't practical. The logic of the website as it currently works requires calls to a number of dynamically generated pages; I can't include every question in its own div in the same flat file. How would I go about dynamically (pre)loading the next question (a JSP page like AskQuestion.jsp?questionId=Kzhctand ) then serving that up within the app after the user presses a button? • Horizontal lines and PDF drawing on iPhone/iPad Quartz 2D

  I'm trying to display a PDF of music using the Quartz 2D calls: CGPDFDocumentGetPage and CGPDFPageGetDrawingTransform The problem is that some horizontal lines in the PDF get drawn thicker than others. The biggest problem is that I notice this in Preview on the Mac and on iPhone/iPad. Even when viewing this PDF in the iPhone/iPad mail, I get the same problem. Here is the example: http://aronnelson.com/problem/pdfproblem.jpg Note that the PDF on the left is preview, the PDF on the right is the same file but in Google Docs. See how clean the Google Docs version is? Is there any way to fix this problem? Would it help to draw the PDF larger and zoom down using a UIScrollView? Any help appreciated. • jquery buttonset()

  Hi - I'm using the jquery buttonset() on a set of radio buttons (to tart them up). I'd like to be able to set the selected radio button on another user event. I've been looking into this and while I can set the selected radio button, but I cannot also (easily) update the UI to indicate what the selected radio button is. From what I can tell, I need to call this to set the radio button at index n to be checked $('input[name="transactionsRadio"]')[n].checked = true; And then do some convoluted jquery selector calls to remove the ui-state-active from one lable and apply it to the new label. Is this really the most optimal way to do this ? I had expected an equivalent method to the 'activate' method that is available for the jquery Accordian control. • ExternalInterface in flex calling javascript function works for mozilla/chrome but NOT IE

• Best current framework for unit testing EJB3 / JPA

  Starting new project using EJB 3 / JPA, mainly stateless session beans and batch jobs. I've used JUnit in the past on standard Java webapps and it seemed to work pretty well. In EJB2 unit testing was a pain and required a running container such as JBoss to make the calls into. Now that we're going to be working in EJB3 / JPA I'd like to know what companies are using to write and run these tests. Are Junit and JMock still considered relevant or are there other newer frameworks that have come around that we should investigate?

  I need to generate an event when a file is closed by another app. Unfortunately, ReadDirectoryChangesW doesn't report the close event. It would be possible for me to poll (with a TTimer) any file that reported by ReadDirectoryChangesW as modified, waiting for it to be closed (using CreateFile to detect this). However, what I'd prefer is a completely event driven solution. Is there a way to hook system calls and detect all file closing events? I simply want to know the path & name of any file that has just been closed.

• Calling WCF Service from Action Script 2

  Hi All, I am a .NET programmer working with a Flash designer on a project. The design is that they will create a flash UI (implemented with AS2) to present a questionnaire. After it is completed by an end user, the will send me (a .net web service of some form) the answers to the questionnaire, I will perform a calculation, and I will send a response back (the response will likely be a single integer, though it may be a touple of (integer score, string description). Neither myself nor the designer is knowledgeable of Action Script. Does anyone have a snippet for such web service calls in AS2? Are there any soap libraries for AS2 that we could use, or should I expose a RESTful interface? Can it be as simple as having the designer concat the questionnaire answers into the query string of the service URL? What would be a typical data format for my response (xml, json, plain text) Thanks in advance for your help. Frank

  We have to run a process from a windows service and get a screenshot from it. We tried the BitBlt and PrintWindow Win32 calls, but both give blank (black) bitmaps. If we run our code from a normal user process, it works just fine. Is this something that is even possible? Or could there be another method to try? Things we tried: Windows service running as Local System, runs process as Local System - screenshot fails Windows service running as Administrator, runs process as Administrator - screenshot fails. Windows application running as user XYZ, runs a process as XYZ - screenshot works with both BitBlt or PrintWindow. Tried checking "Allow service to interact with desktop" from Local System We also noticed that PrintWindow works better for our case, it works if the window is behind another window. For other requirements, both the parent and child processes must be under the same user. We can't really use impersonation from one process to another.

• ASP.NET MVC2 and AJAX

  I am currently developing a new website utilizing ASP.NET MVC2. Much of what I want to do with the website (from a front-end standpoint) involves AJAX-y-type tasks. Two examples: I want to display forms, and switch between them via a drop-down menu (or through links) without having to go back and hit the server every single time. I want the user to be able to select points on a Chart Control and have portions of the page refresh with the appropriate data depending on what he/she selects (partial page refresh). In both these cases, I am able to accomplish what I wish to accomplish using the traditional web forms event handlers, etc. Unfortunately, the use of a ScriptManager violates the spirit of MVC. It seems as if MVC prevents the use of many of the controls that are available to ASP.NET. So, my question is: how do I use AJAX and make AJAX calls without utilizing ScriptManager and the web forms method of utilizing event handlers?
