  • Compiling SDL under Windows with sdl-config

    I have downloaded NXEngine (The Open Source version of Cave Story). I have a make file in the directory, which I execute using msys. However, the make file uses sdl-config: g++ -g -O2 -c main.cpp -D DEBUG `sdl-config --cflags` -Wreturn-type -Wformat -Wno-multichar -o main.o /bin/sh: sdl-config: command not found And apparently sdl-config does not exist under windows since there's no sdl installation. There's also no documentation on the official sourceforge website about this! What do I do?

  • Windows vista shows ISO file as ZIP!

    When I download the ISO file my system shows the file as a zip file and not an ISO. I have tried to burn the file as an image to a DVD but my laptop will not bootup from the CD. Settting in the BIOS are ok so I guess the problem is with the ISO file or the way i burned the CD. I have follwed the instructions on the site for downloading and burning an ISO image to CD so I guess that my problem is with the file association in windows Vista. Any ideas and suggestrions welcome Thanks

    I have a Windows Phone app that relies on an XML data file that comes packaged with the app. In the next version of my app, the XML file will be updated, how do I update the data file once per app update? I thought I could change the file name in the isolated storage, but that would leave trash behind. I could also check for exceptions when I load the XML file, but are there any other, more elegant ways?

When i sync music by rhythmbox my music player see the music, but not album/artists. When I sync by qlix/gmtp there is information about album, album cover but no artist again.     I have tried automatic partition, i Have did the partition myself but Ubuntu installs alright. But when i restart the computer it goes back to windows 8 and i Have tried easybcd boot manager but it didn't work either. I displays ubuntu on the dual boot screen but after a while the screen shutdowns and say it didn't find the boot file or the boot file was missing?     during the normal use, windows 7 shuts down. sometimes it happened when I start google chrome and few times during system update. after it shuts down, I turn it back on and I get to the screen, where windows asks me if I'd like a safe or normal start. the shutdown happens regardless if i'm on a battery or cord is there a log that can tell me where the error is? it can help me to further identify the solution. my setup: I run windows 7 on thinkpad x201 tablet. i have upgraded hard drive that worked fine for the last 6 months. the system is dual boot with ubuntu. I have installed some software recently, may be that can be the problem but sophos anti-virus cannot find anything. updates are all up to date.

  • Root cause for high CPU usage; which measurement to trust more: Windows Task Manager or Process Explorer?

    Consider this Windows 8.1 machine (in-place upgrade from Windows 8) with differing reports on its CPU usage. The machine is idle, and has been for 3 days. There are no CPU intensive tasks running currently nor over the 3 day idle period. Windows Task Manager is reporting CPU usage constantly at an incredibly high value (and increasing over time!) at around 75%. Process Explorer from SysInternals reports that the CPU usage is much different at around 42% How does Process Explorer report 42.14% usage, but its columns report Idle at 57%, with the sum of the other processes not even approaching 10%? Which of these two values should I trust more, and why should it be trusted over the other measurement? How can I actually determine which process is causing Task Manager to report its values? These Proc Exp metrics were taken with Administrator privileges, and with option 'Show Details for All Processes' Click for larger view:
