However when I visit my ip address, x.x.x.x.:8080/ I don't get the default apache page as I would by going to localhost:8080/ What do I have to do in my image or vmware to get it to serve?

  I am facing the following problem : I have downloaded Activiti BPM which runs under Apache. I have installed both; Java jre7 & Java jdk1.7.0_06. I set the JAVA_HOME to be C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_06. But when I try to run the Activiti BPM by typing the following in windows 7 command line : C:\activiti-5.10\activiti-5.10\setup>ant demo.start, the Tomcat server will start and the demo will build successfully, but if I try to navigate to the following link http://localhost:8080/activiti-explorer I get the following error : HTTP Status 404 - /activiti-explorer type Status report message /activiti-explorer description The requested resource (/activiti-explorer) is not available.   An Ubuntu 9.04 box running Apache on 8080 and Varnish on 80. Recently set up Munin and was wondering why Apache graphs are empty. Saw from the logs that Munin is accessing /server-status?auto and getting 403 Forbidden back. So I edited /etc/apache2/monds-enabled/status.conf to allow access from 127.0.0.1. But doing this actually made /server-status public, since requests coming through Varnish appear to come from 127.0.0.1 too. So the question is, how do I configure mod_status to be accessible only by munin-node and not by Varnish?

  I have a server setup with nginx serving static content and proxy all PHP/dynamic requests to apache on 127.0.0.1 I'm building an API for my databases, and I need to allow clients by their origin (domain name), rather than just IP. Based on CORS rules. So when I send an HTTP header header("Access-Control-Allow-Origin: www.client-requesting.myapi.com"); from my API server, I have to tell it which origin I allow, otherwise client side requests won't work to my API due to same-origin policy. The question is how can I know which domain name (if any) called my API? What should be the nginx and apache configuration to pass the origin parameter? I tried to google, and all I found is some possible solution with mod_rpaf, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks!

  I have this url: http://domain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Hvilke-vilkår-følger-med-når-du-bestiller-nyt-bredbånd.png If I ftp/ssh or just browse to that folder (apache index feature), I see the file Hvilke-vilkår-følger-med-når-du-bestiller-nyt-bredbånd.png If I click on the link from the apache index, I can see the file, however, if I copy the URL and try to browse to it directly, I get the error: The requested URL /wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Hvilke-vilkÃ¥r-følger-med-nÃ¥r-du-bestiller-nyt-bredbÃ¥nd.png was not found on this server. • Google Chrome and kerberos authentication against Apache

  I've managed to get kerberos authentication to work now with Apache and Likewise Open but so far, Google Chrome doesn't seem to play fair. Unless I start it with chrome.exe --auth-server-whitelist="*company.com" it does only pop-up a login window but will not accept any credentials at all. As far as I know, the --auth-server-whitelist option should only be used when trying to get Single-Sign-On (SSO) to work, but if you are fine with a log-in window it should work directly out of the box, but so far it doesn't. I can see the httpd.include for example has a new virtualhost entry for blog.example.com I can also see folders have been created for the subdomain blog vhost\example.com folder But when I try to go to blog.example.com - I get an error - basically the host is not getting resolved My site - example.com is working fine otherwise Any idea what could I be missing ?   Currently I try to simulate my app as distributed servers, so I let them run on localhost:9000 and localhost:9001, i tried using apache load balancer but it is really hard to config on mac, my idea is the second server localhost:9001 will be kept ideal and the requests only be redirected to them when the first server is downed. Is there any good free program can do that ? (except Apache httpd). Extra functions: my application is written in java and maintain an in-memory object, is there any service that can synchronize that object between 2 servers so they can keep uptodate status of other (the second one takes state of the first one)?   I am having trouble using the php module with apache2. At the moment, testing with a phpinfo script, only php code is displayed as though it were text, no output at all. I have the line LoadModule php5_module libphp5.so, with an absolute path.   I am installed apache2-mpm-worker and left all config files default (I've never touched them much). Is it normal that when I restart apache there is at least 20 apache processes starting? Shouldn't it be just 2 like it says in the configuration? Also, my memory seems to grow very quickly until my machine crashes. I don't have any mods installed.

  I have installed Apache server. Two clients ex client_1 and client_2. The operation that we are performing on client_1 reflecting to client_2. We have etc/hosts file in our software install location which is keep on changing for client_2 with client_1 IP address. If I correct the entries in hosts file to client_2 also in the next few minuets it is changing automatically to the client_1(if we start the client_1 service). Please explain the use of hosts file and where and when it will change by Apache service. • PHP 5.4.7 and Apache 2.2 Trouble under Windows XP

  I'm trying to setup a test enviroment on a virtual machine running Windows XP Home (totally updated), with Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.4.7. I can load the PHP 5 module inside httpd.conf and if I don't rename php.ini-DEVELOPMENT (or -PRODUCTION) file to php.ini, the engine works fine. This basic configuration doesn't have MySQL module loaded, so I have to rename rename the .ini-DEVELOPMENT into .ini and edit as follows: ; Directory in which the loadable extensions (modules) reside. ; http://php.net/extension-dir ; extension_dir = "./" ; On windows: extension_dir = "C:/php/ext/" ... extension=php_mysql.dll extension=php_mysqli.dll Restart Apache with no problems and... all I can get is a blank page. Where can I see some error or do you know where is the trouble? Tell me if I need to post something else to give you more details.

  I was looking at Vsphere to automatically load balance my apache web servers, and mysql servers but will this actually do the job? I know it says it does auto load balancing but not actually sure it quite means what I want to achieve. Is there an easier way to set up a php-apache and mysql cluster within virtual machines?   Hi, Is there any way for me to find the php script that is sending emails. I have apache+php ( no mod_suphp neither suexec ) in a "standard" install, and i want to find out witch php script is sending emails, when i check the logs i just see the uid of the user that's sending the emails ( in my case apache ) but i want to find out the script that's originated the email. Is it possible or i must install suexec or mod_suphp to keep trac of that ? Thks for the help.
