  I'm working on a test page and am using MySQLi prepared statements in my queries after reading they make my code safe from SQL injection. I have been successful with prepared statements so far with retrieving data from my DB, that all works great. What I want to do now is count the number of galleries within a project using SELECT COUNT(*). That's it. Without using a prepared statement, my old query looked like this: // count number of galleries per project $conn = dbConnect('query'); $galNumb = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM pj_galleries WHERE project = {$pjInfo['pj_id']}"; $gNumb = $conn->query($galNumb); $row = $gNumb->fetch_row(); $galTotal = $row[0]; But for all my reading and searching the internet, I can not find out the proper way to write this as a prepared statement. • Ubuntu Wired network(ethernet does not work)

  It was working just fine, until the other day I yanked it out. The wireless works just fine on the same router. If I login to a windows 7 instance on this dual boot laptop then the ehternet works just fine. So it's not a hardware, cable or router issue. The card even gets an ip, but I can't connect to the internet. Here are the details from route, iptables, ifconfig, ping etc. Any ideas?   I think the main difference between websocket and http streaming (I am not refering to polling and long polling) is websocket allows bi-directional communication which is similar to usual raw socket programming. (above is my understanding, could be wrong, feel free to correct me.) My question is how the web client (browser) continue to send another request in the already-opened websocket? Usual http request will treat another request as new socket connection, but websocket does not, that is why I am confused, how it achieve that? It should be handled in Server side or Client (browser) side?

I tried: eventAssociation.insert(std::pair< std::string, ptr_vector<behaviorRef> >(eventType, ptr_vector<behaviorRef>(callback))); But the error: no matching function for call to ‘boost::ptr_vector<boost::function<bool(Entity&)> >::push_back(Entity::behaviorRef&)’ And I undersatnd it, but can't make workable code. The second question is how to call such functions? For example, I have one object of behaviorRef, how to call it with boost::bind with passing my own values?

• MoveWindow API doesn't work well on Vista

  Hello! I have an application on Vista which loops through all processes and finds associated main windows in order to move and resize them. The problem is that some windows get moved and resized and some don't. Also it even seems that moved and resized windows aren't moved and resized according to the MoveWindow function call because they are resized to title bar and all of them are on the same line (same y coordinate). Here's the sample code: IntPtr handle; Process[] processList = Process.GetProcesses(); int i = 0; foreach (Process process in processList) { handle = process.MainWindowHandle; if (handle != IntPtr.Zero) //If the process has window then move and resize it. { bool moveResult = MoveWindow(handle, i * 50, i * 50, 500, 500, true); i++; } } Is this because of Vista? • How do include paths work in Visual Studio?

  Visual Studio drives me crazy and I am suspecting I am doing something wrong. This is what I do: I installed Visual Studio (Pro '08) a long time ago, I installed the Windows SDK (Win 7 x64), someone emails me a project, it fails to build. Invariably, it can not find windows.h. While it is easy enough to include C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include in the project settings of every single project, I feel that this may not be the proper way to do it. Is there a way to somehow make Visual Studio globally aware of these files? I also tried to include the above directory in the path variable but that didn't change anything. Also, it will randomly find windows.h but not winresrc.h in the same directory.

• html5media library doesn't work on FF 3.6.3

  Hi. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I'm using the html5media library and the test page they provide no longer plays in Firefox 3.6.3, though it plays on the latest Safari, Chrome, Opera, and IE. On FF 3.6.3, it shows the video and the audio with large X through them. I'm using this library on my site and noticed the issue as well. I'm not seeing any errors in the error console.
