• Windows 7 Office 2007 GPO install

  I have a GPO that works fine for installing Office 2007 Pro Plus on Vista and XP but when it installs Office on Windows 7 somehow the office key does not get entered via the customized msp, and needs to be entered manually. Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions for a fix? Its defeats the purpose of remote unattended install if I then have to run around entering the stupid key. edit: I am sorry I should have specified I also have the config.xml file customized already. I have it set to display level none, completion no, suppress modal to yes accept eula to yes, the key put in and the company name and the username variable (%USERNAME%).

• Problem Implementing SSL with WSUS

  I'm working on setting up SSL on our WSUS server using a self signed certificate, but I'm running into trouble. Specifially, after running selfssl /n:CN=server.domain.local /t /v:365, and ensuring that Require Client Certificates is selected in the following directories: SimpleAuthWebService ServerSyncWebService DssAuthWebService ClientWebService APIRemoting30 I am receiving Event 120[2-5]2 upon running wsusutil.exe checkhealth. Basically, each of the directories I require the certificate on fails to work. What am I missing?

  Hi, I'm using MS TMG 2010 Standard as my single firewall to publish my Exchange Server and IIS website to the internet, however it is just one VM in the DMZ network with just one network card (vNIC), what sort of redundancy method that is suitable for making this firewall VM redundant / automatically failover in my DR site ? Because it is very important in the event of disaster recovery all important email through various mobile device will still need to operate and it is impossible if this TMG 2010 VM is offline. is it by using: 1. Multicast NLB 2. Any other clustering 3. VMware HA / FT (one VM in production, the other VM in DR site with different subnet ?) Any suggestion and idea willl be appreciated. Thanks

• Cannot connect to Xen domU via VNC if X isn't installed on domU

  I'm trying to build a Xen domU that can be connected through the Xen's VNC server. In this case all I got is a blank screen. Besides, if the domU has X, the screen is still blank until the login prompt appears, while it should be like this. Some information that may be useful: The domU and the dom0 both run CentOS 5.5. If the domU has X, it can be connected even when both X and the domU's VNC server isn't running. The VNC client is RealVNC.

  Hi, i am getting following error in apache log File does not exist: D:/wamp/www/script/products, referer: http://localhost/script/products/category/product-123.html whenever following url localhost/script/products/category/product-123.html is parsed through this rewrite rule RewriteRule ^products/([~A-Za-z0-9-"]+)/([~A-Za-z0-9-".]+).html$ index.php?page_type=products&prod=$2 [L]. The script and rule is working fine but i am getting that error in apache error log. I have activated RewriteLog, but nothing is showing up in the rewrite.log file. Its empty. Please help and thanks in advance.

When I ran rpmbuild, the headers weren't present.   Hello, I have 4 Name Virtual Hosts on my apache configuration, each one using proxy_http to forward request to the correct server. They work fine. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName application_name.domain.tld ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://server_ip/ ProxyPassReverse / http://server_ip/ </VirtualHost> I then tried to add a default NameVirtualHost to take care of the requests for which the server name does not match one of the four others. Otherwise a request like some_weird_styff.domain.tld would be forwarded to one of the 4 VH. I then added this one: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAlias "*" DocumentRoot /var/www/ </VirtualHost> At the beginning it seemed to work fine, but at some point it appears that the requests that should be handed by one of the 4 regular hosts is "eaten" by the default one !!! If I a2dissite this default host, everything is back to normal... I do not really understand this. If you have any clue... thanks a lot, Luc

• postfix cannot getting my domain name?

  Hi I'm trying to setup webmin+postfix+dovecot+roundcube, for this moment I want things be as simple as possible so I'm using linux users as email accounts. I can send/receive from the same domain, I mean [email protected] can send/receive to/from [email protected] I tested smtp/imap with outlook and says no problem. if I send a mail from gmail it reject with error of: Technical details of temporary failure: The recipient server did not accept our requests to connect. when I login with roundcube the email address display in the right corner is something like user1@com and I get this error message from logs: [11-Nov-2012 07:39:03 +0400]: IMAP Error: Login failed for user1 from 187.150.xx.xx. Could not connect to com:143: php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /var/www/webmail/program/include/rcube_imap.php on line 191 (POST /webmail/?_task=login&_action=login) it says Could not connect to com:143 looks like it cannot read the domain name. I used http://mxtoolbox.com/ to check the mx record and it says it can find the server of mail.mydomain.com. • How to make sysctl network bridge settings persist after a reboot?

  I am setting up a notebook for software demo purpose. The machine has 8GB RAM, a Core i7 Intel CPU, a 128GB SSD, and runs Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit. The notebook is used as a KVM host and runs a few KVM guests. All such guests use the virbr0 default bridge. To enable them to communicate with each other using multicast, I added the following to the host's /etc/sysctl.conf, as shown below net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-ip6tables = 0 net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-iptables = 0 net.bridge.bridge-nf-call-arptables = 0 Afterwards, following man sysctl(8), I issued the following: sudo /sbin/sysctl -p /etc/sysctl.conf My understanding is that this should make these settings persist over reboots. • Why doesn't pppd over ssh work here? Why can't I kill pppd?

  I'm trying to setup a simple ppp tunnel over ssh. It works on several machines just fine. After it has been started for a while, I start getting messages in dmesg like shown below. It is started like so from another machine: ssh -t root@server /usr/sbin/pppd passive noauth When I do this to one of the machines that work, the remote end's pppd spits out garbage/binary data to the console (as expected). When I do it to the one that fails, I get no output from pppd, but the ssh session eventually times out. If I instead ssh to the machine, and then run /usr/sbin/pppd passive noauth in a separate step I also get the expected binary output. I now have a couple of questions: What could be up with the one machine where pppd fails? I don't even know where to start looking... What could be the difference between ssh -t root@server /usr/sbin/pppd passive noauth in a single step and ssh root@server and /usr/sbin/pppd passive noauth in two steps? How can it be that I can't kill the process even with sudo kill -9? The only way I know is to reboot. (I've tried searching for something similar but didn't get anywhere so I'm sorry I don't have any more leads) Any ideas? • Is MySQL better than PostgreSQL in something?

  I know the question sounds provocative but it really isn't. I'm lately finding MySQL limiting in a lot of areas and liking PostgreSQL more and more. It scales a lot better and it respects the SQL standards a lot more than MySQL. I'm still a newbie in the PostgreSQL world though and since I'm willing to move away from MySQL for all my future projects, what I want to know is: is there any particular feature of MySQL that it is done better (as in more performant or more user friendly etc..) than in PostgreSQL? I'm wondering what I'm gonna miss from MySQL. I already found that the AUTO_INCREMENT fields in MySQL are more handy than SEQUENCES in PostgreSQL and the deployment in windows was problematic in the past (not a problem anymore. never a problem for me).   I have a CloudFront distribution set up with an Nginx server as the origin (a Media Temple DV server, to be specific). I enabled the Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * header so fonts will work in Firefox. However, Firefox throws a CORS error for fonts loaded from this CloudFront/Nginx distribution. I created another CloudFront distribution, this time with an Apache server as the origin, and set Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * also. Firefox displays fonts from this origin without issue.   Hello, we just have upgraded the firmware of a dell 6224 power connect switch and it won't reload. These are the symptons: - I power up the switch having the serial cable connected to it and the switch outputs nothing. The configuration of the serial console is fine: 9600 bds, etc... In fact, before the upgrade, I was connected to the switch through the very same cable. - Reseting the switch with its reset pinhole does not reset the switch: the power and fan lights powers off while I keep pressed the pinhole, but the switch itself does not resets. - When I connect an UTP cable to one of the switches port, the green lights don't flash, but ''mii-tool eth0'' in my laptop shows there is link!! The only thing I see in the output, different from other upgrades I've done, is this line at the end: Erasing Boot Flash.....^^^^Done. Any help or idea will be more than welcome!!   Since 2-3 weeks, each time I update my fedora 11 box with yum, I get these messages. Error unpacking rpm package kde-filesystem-4-33.fc11.noarch warning: /etc/rpm/macros.kde4 saved as /etc/rpm/macros.kde4.rpmsave error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/share/doc/HTML/fr/docs/common: cpio: rename Failed: kde-filesystem.noarch 0:4-33.fc11 Everything else works fine. I tried to reinstall it. The re-installation was fine but I still get the messages when I yum update I didn't try to remove it with yum because it will remove more than 100 packages dues to dependencies. What else could I do ?

• Project Server 2007 install issue - ProjectEventService won't start

  Trying to install PS2007 with SP1 on Server 2003. The install goes fine, but when running the SharePoint Configuration Wizard, it fails at stage 6 of 12 with the error: Failed to register SharePoint Services. An exception of type System.InvalidOperationException was thrown. Additional exception information: Cannot start service ProjectEventService on computer '.'. From the PSCDiagnostics log: Exception: System.InvalidOperationException: Cannot start service ProjectEventService on computer '.'. --- System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion. The ProjectEventService (Microsoft Office Project Server Event) won't even start manually using the Network Service account. Starting the service with a domain account works, but subsequently running the Config Wizard causes the service to be removed and re-provisioned to run using the Network Service account, which again fails. Presumably Network Service needs elevated permissions, but even adding it to the local Admin group makes no difference. Anyone come across this sort of issue before?

  My ideal setup would be to take a current clients site, upload a .htaccess with a regex inside, that would match the URI, and if it finds a certain file extension, it would use the same path, but with an altered domain. ie. Normal path: http://www.domain.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://www.domain.com/assets/js/jquery.js .htaccess translated would turn the above into: http://mycdn.other.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://mycdn.other.com/assets/js/jquery.js I googled this for hours in a row, no luck. Again, this is for actually making use of Amazon's CloudFront. S3 is already mounted to the website for backups and storing files using s3fs, but this doesn't solve the issue since it's using S3 directly, not using the CloudFront.

  I configured iis7 ftp to allow ssl connections. I set the ssl firewall to use ports 50000-50050. If I set up a custom service on my fortigate firewall for ftps with source ports 990-50050 and destination ports 990-50050, set it to a firewall policy and connect from a client it connects and works successfully. If I create a service FTPS Control with source port 990 and destination port 990 and another service,FTP Data with source ports 50000-50050 and destination ports 50000-50050 add them to a group FTPSSL, replace the ftps policy with FTPSSL and try connecting it tries to connect to port 990 and eventually times out. Is there a way to configure the service to only use the ports I need and not every port from 990 up?

I test the whole module in localhost and there is no problem with it.   Search Crawling is error out on my MOSS 2007 installation. I get the following error for all the web apps I have following error in Crawl logs. http://mysites.devserver URL could not be resolved. The host may be unavailable, or the proxy settings are not configured correctly on the index server. The Application Event log also has the following corresponding error The start address http://mysites.devserver cannot be crawled. Context: Application 'SSPMain', Catalog 'Portal_Content' Details: The URL of the item could not be resolved. The repository might be unavailable, or the crawler proxy settings are not configured. To configure the crawler proxy settings, use the Proxy and Timeout page in search administration. (0x80041221) I'm using Windows 2008 server. I tried accessing the site using the above mentioned url and its available. I did the registry setting for loop back issue found here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861 still not luck. Any Ideas?
