• Odd DOM Problem with Firefox

  Hello. I'm experiencing an odd problem when trying to navigate through a table's rows and cells in a while loop using javascript. I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Win7 with Firebug enabled. I have this markup: <table> <tbody> <tr id='firstRow'><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> </tbody> </table> And this javascript: var row = document.getElementById('firstRow'); console.log(row); // Row call 1 while (row) { console.log(row); // Row call 2 row = row.nextSibling; } The problem I'm having is that on the line commented "Row call 1", Firebug is outputting <tr id='firstRow'> as expected. However, in the while loop, Firebug is giving me <tr id='firstRow'> <TextNode textContent="\n"> It is giving me different output for the exact same row, even immediately after the while loop begins executing and nothing else touched the row. For subsequent rows, it of course does not have id='firstRow' as an attribute. The bigger problem this is giving me is that if I'm in the while loop, and I want to access a particular cell of the current row using row.cells[0], Firebug will give me an error that row.cells is undefined. I want to know if someone could shed some light on this situation I am experiencing.

It is obviously being defined somehow because if I change it to something else (e.g. item_number.description then the error message becomes undefined local variable or methoditem_number' for #instead. The invoice_item_number object that is being displayed by this partial is being used perfectly well by the form helpers as<%= f.text_field :item_number %and<% f.text_field :amount %both work perfectly well. I have tried a number of solutions such as using@invoice_item_number` and explicitly defining an object in the render method but these have not worked. Presumably there is a very simple answer to this.

Why am I getting Bars is invalid versus the error messages displayed above, ["Real can't be blank", "Real you must supply a valid email"] etc. My controller simply has a respond_to method with the following in it: format.xml { render :xml => @foo.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } How do I have this output the real error messages so the user has some insight into what they did wrong?

  I'm receiving XML sent via POST. Naturally I need to parse this XML to get at the goodies it holds for me. However, when I receive the XML is seems that PHP is parsing it like a query string. For example, this xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <ForgotPassword> <version>1.0</version> <authentication> <login>myresllerid</login> <apikey>1234567890abcdef</apikey> </authentication> <parameters> <emailAddress>[email protected]</emailAddress> </parameters> </ForgotPassword> Becomes this (from print_r($_REQUEST)): Array ( [ <?xml_version] => "1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <IDCForgotPassword> <version>1.0</version> <authentication> <login>myresllerid</login> <apikey>1234567890abcdef</apikey> </authentication> <parameters> <emailAddress>[email protected]</emailAddress> </parameters> </IDCForgotPassword> ) You can see the XML is being broken up at the first equals sign (=) in the XML into a key/value pair. How do I avoid this?

In these I am again using a list again, but it should be different in style or have no style. When I put in <li>s, their style matches the outer <li> elements, but it should not. I am trying to use this: #newnavigation li a { font-size:12px; margin-left:20px; } but it's not working - it applies the "outer" styles. I have millions of these rows so I need to find the next class in the row. • Error using maven profiles

  I've added two profiles to my application and that how it looks: <profiles> <profile> <id>dev</id> <properties> <db.username>root</db.username> <db.password>root</db.password> <db.connectionURL>localhost:3306</db.connectionURL> <db.driverClass>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</db.driverClass> </properties> </profile> <profile> <id>prod</id> <properties> <db.username>prodroot</db.username> <db.password>prodpass</db.password> <db.connectionURL>localhost:3306</db.connectionURL> <db.driverClass>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</db.driverClass> </properties> </profile> </profiles> In my jdbc.properties file i changed values like this: jdbc.driverClassName=${db.driverClass} jdbc.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect jdbc.databaseurl=jdbc:mysql://${db.connectionURL}/dbname jdbc.username=${db.username} jdbc.password=${db.password} And here's bean from spring-container.xml <bean id="dataSource" class="org.apache.commons.dbcp.BasicDataSource" destroy-method="close" p:driverClassName="${jdbc.driverClassName}" p:url="${jdbc.databaseurl}" p:username="${jdbc.username}" p:password="${jdbc.password}" /> When i try to deploy my application i got following error: SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanDefinitionStoreException: Invalid bean definition with name 'dataSource' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/spring-servlet.xml]: Could not resolve placeholder 'db.driverClass' Structure of project: Any ideas what i'm doing wrong? • ASP.NET DataList - defining "columns/rows" when repeating horizontal and using flow layout

  Here is my DataList: <asp:DataList id="DataList" Visible="false" RepeatDirection="Horizontal" Width="100%" HorizontalAlign="Justify" RepeatLayout="Flow" runat="server"> [Contents Removed] </asp:DataList> This generates markup that has each item wrapped in a span. From there, I'd like to break each of these spans out into rows of three columns. Ideally I would like something like this: <div> <span>Item 1</span> <span>Item 2</span> <span>Item 3</span> </div> <div> <span>Item 4</span> <span>Item 5</span> <span>Item 6</span> </div> [etc] The closest I can get to this is to set RepeatColumns to "3" and then a <br> is inserted after every three items in the DataList. <span>Item 1</span> <span>Item 2</span> <span>Item 3</span> <br> <span>Item 4</span> <span>Item 5</span> <span>Item 6</span> <br> This gets me kind of close, but really doesn't do the trick - I still can't control the layout the way I'd like to be able to. Can anyone suggest a way to make this better? If I could implement the above example - that would be perfect, however I'd accept a less elegant solution as well - as long as its more flexible than <br> (such as inserting a <span class="clear"></span> instead of <br>).
